Then he walks very slowly with the mind focused on how the feet moves an touches the ground, then he returns to do more sitting meditation. Its good to stretch your legs now and then but it does not mean that you have to stop meditating.

That is not true. There was no united India at that time and Nepal was never part of India. There were many small kingdoms that made up Nepal and India. Nepal did not become a country until the 17th century. It appears that India was first mostly united under King Ashoka but not all of India. India has been united and broken up a number of times.
