"After Angola" follows a small group of men who formed a peer support group after they'd spent significant time inside Louisiana's Angola State Penitentiary, once the most violent prison in America. The men's shared stories and collective reenactments about surviving Angola show how far they've come, but also the toll it's taken on their lives now that they are free.
After Angola | holding bodies, Episode 3
The three-part holding bodies: a justice anthology uses personal experiences of arrest, pretrial detention, and incarceration to reconsider the intention, design, and process of America’s justice system.

These men suffered for decades. Just wondering how many others innocent prisoners remain in A gola or other prisons. Thank you for sharing your stories. We need to be certain that those accused and convicted and then imprisoned actually committed the crimes they were sentenced for. More of these stories need to be told and heard.

Don't do the crime & you won't do the time. Easy peasy.

These men were wrongly convicted. They served time for crimes they did not commit. Obviously you did not read or listen to what actually happened.

The thing is, that too many times in America, you have to do the time even if you don’t do the crime. Especially if your skin is dark.
