Nice work again James! Sorry about the terrible conditions (all we have been getting is rain in the GTA this spring -- I've only been able to get one round in myself!) Congrats on the ECPT win as well! And don't get me started about events run by Golf Canada -- if you can't say anything good, don't say anything -- as they say! Cheers!

Great job and am pulling for you going forward. Really tough conditions and you didn’t catch one break. Way to battle thru some tough bounces and you came really close despite nothing dropping or going your way. I’m not sure how many people can appreciate the pressure of playing professionally (especially when you’re putting your own money up to qualify) but you do a great job of showing what it’s like. Good luck and pulling for you!

Tough course, conditions, and some tough breaks. You definitely played quite a bit of quality golf and if a few more putts had dropped despite all that, you might have made it into the open. Once again, very nice job by all involved of documenting the experience. I enjoyed it. Cheers.

Ok at 24:55 you set up for drive, push right... 33:17 another set up, but it appears you are further away from the ball, hit a great drive.... GET AWAY FROM THE DAMN BALL... I know this from experience. My lowest round was 65, my lowest handicap was +2... my avg handicap was 2. This is when I used to live on golf courses in AZ... unfortunately now I live in the NW and only play on weekends...(and I'm getting older), but I haven't forgot what got me to a +2 at one point!!! Get that left arm straight at set up, get away from the ball (even if you have to bend your knees slightly, just do it!).
@jamescolindavisgolf
@jamescolindavisgolf 4 месяца назад
With all due respect, I’m going to trust the process I am working on with my coach. Your credentials are impressive, don’t get me wrong, but I’m a +5 and I have always played with my left elbow bent ay address. That’s not the issue.

Hey man I just wanna start out by saying I love your videos. I am a pretty solid college golfer and I find that yardage books are not worth it. I think if you can get them cheap it is fine, but paying $240 for a yardage book seems almost unrealistic and just not needed if your on a budget. Just wanted to know your thought on it assuming you play a practice round or know the course.
@jamescolindavisgolf
@jamescolindavisgolf 4 месяца назад
Hey bud, that’s a fair point for sure. However the $240 was the yardage book and the practice round. The round cost $160, the yardage book was $50 (still expensive) plus taxes. I wouldn’t normally pay $50 for a book, but being one round away from the PGA Tour I didn’t want to cheap out and regret it. It definitely cane in handy as the wind was the opposite direction and it was good to know what all of the carry distances were off the tee, etc.

Yeah, those were obvious tire treads... WTF? Watching your swing, it's too bad you can't get more lag in backswing... it appears to be an abbreviated swing. I just wonder if you are costing yourself a lot of distance not taking club back more and getting lag in the shaft. (JUST A THOUGHT).. I'm 54 and hit it an absolute mile, but I also am in great shape with a lot of flexibility to really take the club back pretty far...
@jamescolindavisgolf
@jamescolindavisgolf 4 месяца назад
Yeah, that ruling was pretty brutal, but it did light a fire in me so it all worked out. Started playing better after that. I do have a wide backswing. I create my lag in transition and have plenty of it. Average ball speed at the moment is over 175 and I know I’m not swinging my best with that club at the moment. Progress is being made however. Feeling good about the direction it’s trending towards.

Thanks Craig. Unfortunately postponing the event really wasn’t an option because the next day was the only day to play a practice round at the host venue for the guys who qualified. Honestly, I was shocked that I didn’t get relief especially considering that I was only 5-6 yards off the fairway. It’s not as if I had hit it to the middle of nowhere. It is what it is, and it actually lit a bit of a fire in me so it all worked out. Thanks for supporting the channel! 👍
