One of my favourite female actors in all over India right now. What a great actor she is. I loved her short film THE BROKEN TABLE, she was amazing and so was the film. But THE MINIATURIST OF JUNAGADH is for me the greatest short film in Rasika Dugal’s filmography, even though it was an out and out Naseeruddin Shah show.
Insomnia is set in Alaska, but was shot in northern Canada in some very remote place. Lovely conversation btw. I love how you are geeking out over Nolan and particularly the old magician in Prestige. I loved that scene too. Rasika is such an interesting and wonderful person. I would love to have a conversation with her myself.
What Vaibhav said about sound design and putting focus only on dialogues is so on point. The second season of Mumbai Diaries did exactly this and it felt so odd. I was like why would they?! Doesn’t feel as organic then.
My God, Didn't know I am going to enjoy it that much, loved it. Also, Now I can articulate better how Mattel used Barbie for marketing, I always knew but didn't know how to put it into words. One of the all time best interview.
Why does every film podcast ask SRK questions? Are they trying to get views just by mentioning his name. I am also his big fan but mentioning his name in every podcast doesn't make sense.
at 5:49 she is not talking about "The six o' clock" she is referring to "11'o Clock", given description of short film by her in video matches perfectly with 11'o clock not 6'o clock... please correct it.
Bhai ye wala episode me na mujhe aisa laga ki Vaibhav bss Rasika Ma'm ko cue de rhe hai and Rasika ma'm then full on uspe 10 marks wala full in detail question ka answer bata rahi hai. Loved it ya.
I agree with the lack of sound design. being a full time music producer, recently i watched a hotstar show Aakhri sach and there was once scene where the character in it is finding something in a room and there was literally no sound of ambience or even no sound of things he was picking up and anything. there were just dialogues nothing else which was very odd.
Always knew she's a wonderful actress but never knew about how strongly she can hold an audience by just speaking casually. Every word she chose had a rhythm and was musical to listen to. Thanks @chalchitra talks!
Vaibhav, aap pani ke saman apni surat badal lete ho, when you interview people from cinema. It's so fun to watch that you make it a conversation and still allow the guest to have his presence felt throughout. I love Rasika, my dad is a huge fan of short films and he keeps on sharing some on our Whatsapp recommendation group and that's how I got to know her. Thank you for this :)
only longest interview where i didnt skip off any part any second i literally swallowed it whole. rasika duggal would be so introspective and well spoken and articulate i never knew that
