The Longest Run I Have Ever Done: Berlin Marathon Training

Come with me on my longest run EVER as I get ready for my first ever marathon at the Berlin Marathon. The plan was to listen to the Runna app and only do 32K (which would have also been a distance personal best) but I pushed it to 35K (just a runner's rounding up).
I have come a long way as a runner and this one is a run I am completely proud of. The marathon prep has peaked and we now start to slowly decrease distance as we approach tapering.

Great job Aubrey🎉 I’m currently training for Frankfurt Marathon. Working in a hotel with different shifts isn’t easy. Had to change my training plan a lot of times so now I’m only doing the long runs as I can’t get the mileage in. 27km coming up and I can’t wait for the 34km in 2 weeks😂

Well done mate ! 35 km is a huge thing to handle! But i think you should focus on runs up to 3hours , no more than that, because the risk of injury is much much greater than the benefits that you get from such long runs...(over the 3hour mark). Just an advice to think of!

I bet you enjoyed getting those shoes off at the end. Seriously, that is a huge run. Superb effort, it hurts towards the end of those kind of runs and you did great. I’m looking forward to seeing the medal around your neck in a few weeks.

What an accomplishment! The mental fortitude needed to complete long runs like this one is monumental. It's the mind that needs the practice -- the legs will follow. I love your analogy to start this video, too-- it reminds me of your older video talking about failure: "A Pro is simply an amateur that didn't quit..". You're almost a pro my friend.

There is no “deep down” about it at all! I know for a fact that I will nail it. I can confidently say that. It will be hard for sure but nothing worth having is easy!
