You know what is even more astounding? The shortest words in Arabic. They are only one letter long but carry a profound amount of meaning. Examples: If you want to command someone to stay true to something or to have fidelity, you can express this meaning only using the letter فِ, pronounced "fi". For example, if you want to command someone to stay true to their promise, you would say, "ِف بوعدك". Another meaningful one letter word is, قِ, pronounced "qi". This is a command for someone to protect something. For example, you can say, "قِ نفسك", which means, "protect yourself". My favorite one is عِ. It carries such a complex meaning but is expressed in only one letter. It is a command for someone to have a good conceptual understanding of something. For example, you can say, "عِ الدرس", which means you're telling someone to "have a good conceptual understanding of the lesson". Subhanallah
