You know, they could’ve gotten the birds to harvest from the trees and put the animals to work for marshmallows. They’ve shown to be more than capable of being able to work together to get things done.
Only problem I can see with that is where you pay them with marshmellow, as that might make them less fit to collect the tufts or even kill them off, but still it has the potential to work.
@@harbour2118 yeah she was the one to suggest chopping down the trees and had the audacity to blame him and call him a disappointment when HER idea took a turn for the worst.
There are literally a lot of other things they could do that wouldn’t involve chopping the trees. But a level of impatience and greed has cost everyone everything.
Y’know, I can’t help but wonder if perhaps the Onceler might’ve been able to sustain his company without ruining the valley if only he’d just been able to say no to his mother.
@@Casual_Nerd86Yeah, the Once-ler has a bad relationship with his mother. I have a relationship with my dad that falls somewhere bordering the grey area. I do love him and all, but he really has to stop acting quirky and like a buffoon, even around me.
The Once-Ler’s family were assholes to the Once-Ler only using him and his thneeds and destroyed the forest to make themselves rich and never get punished or scolded for manipulating the Once-Ler or destroying the forest and leave scott-free taking all the Once-Ler’s money with him leaving him as a recluse, Ted’s mother and grandmother are better family members to him than the Once-Ler’s family was to him.
The fresh air that Aloysius O’Hare sold to the residents of Thneedville to replace the air pollution caused by the Once-Ler and his family was fake, and he only sold it just to get money and make him rich, its side effects brainwashed the town’s residents into always acting happy, selfish, light-hearted and not caring about the nature and animals that once existed and Ted, his mom, grandma and Audrey snapped out of it when exposed to the pollution of the outside world and took admiration in nature, plants and animals and planned a real tree replacing all the fake air created by O’Hare with real oxygen and turning the town’s residents against him.
Time for a lesson on supply and demand! The Onceler could've increased the price on the Thneed to slow down Demand enough for him to figure out a way to increase Supply while still maintaining a good profit. Then, he could slowly decrease price to drive up demand and eventually he reaches a point where he can sell his product without ruining the trees.
They could’ve waited until winter too that way they’d have enough to last until next winter while it keeps growing or yeah vacuums could work so it would also keep growing & never go bankrupt
The truffula trees don't just "grow" from a moment to another, in the 1972 The Lorax version (and i think in the books, I haven't read them) , he says it takes 10 months for a seed to germinate, 10 years to grow into a sappling, and another 10 for it to fully grow, so it'd take 20 years and 10 months for thneeds to be back on business, sooo Once-Ler would most likely be more than bankrupt
Yeah, The Once-Ler’s mom got mad at and abandoned her son, replacing him with Bret as her favorite child for cutting down all the trees to the point where the truffs needed to make the thneeds and trees for it themselves ran out when she was the one who manipulated him into cutting them down in the first place, so she is the guilty one, not him! This makes her look like an irrational hypocrite.
The reason why the Once-Ler wanted to make and invent the thneed in the first place was not for the money but rather to help change and benefit the world and he is easily convinced by The Lorax that chopping down the trees to produce the thneeds was the wrong thing to do because it harms the environment in the process which leads to his promise not to cut down any more of the trees, just harvesting their tufts without killing them to produce his thneeds to sell, but when the Once-Ler’s family arrive to aid him with it his mom having other plans and she, only interested in the thneeds just for the money and not because she cares for her son and impatient with the thneed’s current production and wanting to get rich now, manipulated him using “motherly advice” into resuming chopping down the trees to speed up the thneed’s production and becoming the self-centered nature careless businessman he is and produce the thneed by factory creating devastating effects for the wildlife in return and after the last tree is cut down, the Once-Ler’s mom, with no farther use for her son disowns him and makes Bret her new favorite child and she and the rest of the family depart with all his money to live rich wealthy lives for the remainders of their lives and the Once-Ler was left broken and remorseful for giving into his mom’s maniuplations not listening to the Lorax and breaking his promise with him and for destroying the forest.
0:41 - 0:46 Bruh I blame the mom for implanting that idea in his head 😒, which led him to become greedy and resulted of him living alone. That the valley animals left to find a new home while his family literally left him, including his own freaking mother abandoned him. When it’s like it's your fault 🙄 for the destruction of humanity and the environment 😤because you manipulated Once-ler aka your son to chop down more trees and living the rest of his life lonely 😭
*"When a child is not embraced by the village, he will burn the village to the ground to feel its warmth"* - African proverb *Definition:* Anyone is willing do anything to get attention, even negative attention
@@cutekoala5492 well, onceler was basically an outcast until his thead buiness was successful He was doing everything to keep the family's love for him
Once-Ler: Okay then, now that that is settled, I will be calling it a night going to sleep- But rather after I find my bed (sigh) Ralph leaves for work Ralph: If she wants a new track I will give her one!
Or could have just replanted like any sane business who understands long term sustainability as an important quality. As a matter of fact if the Onceler had just replanted with the sapling he had he could've restarted the entire business
The Whole reason why the Once-Ler made that promise to the Lorax not to cut down any more of the truffula trees to make thneeds only harvest the thuffs was not because he now abandoned his selfishness and now cared about nature and its animals but because The Lorax forced him to do so and threatened to evict him and later his family from the forest preventing them from creating their thneeds and running their money-making business if they refuse and the Once-Ler’s mom was likely aware of this after her son told her so and the promise he made with the Lorax offscreen and she convinced her son to break his promise and resume chopping down the trees to speed up the thneed’s production and not let the Lorax hold him back just because he is overprotective towards nature and he agreed with The Once-Ler’s aunt and later the Once-Ler himself keeping the Lorax out of the way to stop them from ruining their macguffins.
Suki Lane from Sing 2 and Judith from Sing are at least not like the Once-Ler’s mom, and Porsha Crystal and Buster Moon are at least not like the Once-Ler at all either, and you know why, cause they aren’t selfish! Humans are always so greedy and selfish while animals are sweet and selfless.
He is finally taking his mother's advice not to let the Lorax hold him back to complete his thneed selling business and is standing up to him for it, no more softness and is resuming chopping down the trees to speed up the thneed’s production and make more money despite the consequences it causes for its animal residents in the process and we know where that will lead.
Honestly I can’t really blame Onceler here. If his mother didn’t push him to cutting down trees or speeding up the process then he probably wouldn’t have broken his promise and caused the valley to go into ruin. It’s hard to say no to a parent as the reason he set out was to also make his family proud and care about him.
The Once-Ler listened to the Lorax’s warnings about deforestation causing devastating effects for the environment and therefore promised never to cut down any more truffula trees but make the thneeds instead by harvesting the tufts no matter how slow it is because he is only making the thneeds to help other people not for the money, but his money greedy and impatient family including his mom impatient over the thneed’s production and only interested in helping him create them for the money they get in return manipulated him into disregarding The Lorax’s warnings and resume cutting down the trees to speed up the thneed’s production and becoming the greedy businessman he is only interested in the thneeds for the money not to help other people and this continues until witnessing the last tree fall and seeing the devastating effects he caused for the lands around him causes the Once-Ler to finally come to his senses and snap out of those manipulations and regret his actions. (While the Once-Ler’s family no longer needing him disown him with his mom making Bret her new favorite child and leave taking all his money with him leaving him broken and reclusive.)
There were other methods The Oncler could have used. Huge vacuum that sucks up a lot of leaves. I don't know the name of this device but it lifts up while people do their work up high. Bring a bag up. Destroying the source that makes the product he sells wasn't really the brightest idea. That's why it's always good to learn sustainability. Good for the company and environmen.
The Once-Ler’s mother is sorta the true villain of The Lorax for three reasons: She never showed any interest in her son’s idea of creating Thneeds to benefit the world at first but let him leave home to do so anyway to let him follow his goals and dreams like a parent should let their child do. But when the Thneed became a success with the promise of unlimited money The Once-Ler’s mom and the rest of her family decided to aid her son in creating the Thneeds not just to help her son benefit the world but just for the money in return and make her and the family rich. Even though the Once-Ler already cared about the animals and nature in the Truffala tree forest and convinced by The Lorax to stop cutting down the trees to make the thneeds but instead harvest their tufts to do so without destroying the forest and harming the animals that lived there in the process, (And what the Once-Ler had his family do to make the thneeds) his mom grew impatient with the idea as she wanted to make all the promised money and become rich also refusing to take no for an answer when her son said no to her idea so she manipulated her son to resume chopping down the trees to make the thneeds against his promise me made to The Lorax to speed up production and disregard the Lorax’s warnings about the consequences left behind, and he obliged, and the Once-Ler and his family pushed the Lorax and the animals away in the process as they started their business turning her son into the businessman she hoped he would become. After all the truffala trees are used and cut down polluting and destroying the lands around them in the process, also causing the Once-Ler to snap out of his manipulations caused by his mother and feel remorseful over his actions, the Once-Ler’s mom and the rest of his family rather see the error of her ways and feel remorseful for her actions too or even thank or praise the Once-Ler for his successful business, his mom simply said to her son, (“Son, you have let me down, Bret! You are now my favorite child!) and she and the rest of the family take all the Once-Ler’s money making themselves rich and leave him not getting punished or scolded for destroying the forest or manipulating The Once-Ler overall while the animals living in the forest including Pipsqueak migrate and leave in such of a new home with The Lorax and Melvin going with them leaving the Once-Ler alone with his regrets.
With all the wacky gadgetry in this movie, you would think they could've just made something to brush all the tufts off the tree so they dont have to chop them down.
We can all say that the true villain of 2012 Lorax is The mother. I mean whats the point of chopping down trufulla trees when you still have to harvest leaves to make a thneed. if its too high use Ladder and a large scissors.
I really don’t blame the once-ler for chopping all the trees down, but it wasn’t him to be the one responsible. It was the Once-ler’s family who made him do all of this At first while The once-ler was working his mom said that they couldn’t make thneeds faster so she told him that they should chop all the trees down. But he was about to say that he promise the Lorax to not chop another tree down but his mom stop him from what he was going to say, and his family forced him to say yes. After chopping down all the trees when the Once-ler family was about to leave his mom said: Once-ler mom: Son you have let me down, Brent you are now my favorite child. In this scene I probably think that his family might have tricked him. Maybe they hated him so much and didn’t want him in their family. So they forced to him to chop all the trees and after when he realized there was no air left because of the trees that made it. Everyone thought it was his fault that he did all of this. But his family were responsible for all of this situation that the creatures and The Lorax for leaving.
Once Ler:You know what mom I don’t think we can’t cut trees Isabella:What why Once Ler:Because I promise to the Lorax not to cut Trees again Isabella:Oh I guess will probably make the a little faster
If the trees had seeds, couldn’t they be replanted? Divide up the forest into different seasons, chopping down and replanting so that they didn’t lose their own source of profit?
To the once-lers mom: I am The Lorax, I speak for the trees. They said every time you chop one of us down, we get one step closer to figuring out how to use our branches to set a bomb and throw it into your house so you can feel how much we suffer.
Aloysius O’Hare, The Once-ler and The Once-ler’s Mother are the three main antagonists of The Lorax movie because Aloysius O’Hare is Ted’s archenemy and he’s the main threat, The Once-ler is more responsible than O’Hare, since he was the one to start up the business where he cut down trees and his entrepreneurship influenced O’Hare and The Once-ler’s Mother is far more hated by fans in the film than Aloysius O’Hare, she shares many traits with Aloysius O’Hare and she’s the main source of conflict (she is guilty of turning The Once-ler into a villain and she hadn’t ordered The Once-ler to cut down all trees for his Thneed Business, tress wouldn’t be extinct until only just one Truffula seed survived, which in turn led to O’Hare becoming mayor).
They should've just increase the price and made a better way to harvest the tufts. Maybe even made a modified trufella tree subspecies that is much shorter than the current trufella trees. He should've never listened to those foolish suggestions that went against the production balance, like chopping trees. He's not ready to be a True Capitalist 🗿🗿🗿
At least Ted’s mom and grandma don’t treat Ted like dirt but instead love and care about him like a true mother should to their son and grandmother to her grandson unlike the Once-Ler’s jerkass family did to him but mostly due to the promise of unlimited money.
Once-ler: Why don't you guys just use a ladder and a rucksac instead of whatever it is your trying to do over there "Shows Brent and Will just collecting one tuft at a time'' Mama: well you see- Once-ler: in fact ma a few months later it's gonna be winter soon, i am pretty sure by then the leaves will fall by themselves
If they made machines couldn’t they just make machines that take more leaves at a time. Or better couldn’t the brothers just take off more than 1 fcking leaf at a time. Or an easier way not be a dumb*ss
Yeah, harvesting the tufts from the trees to make the thneeds was a simpler solution despite taking too long but would not lead to them killing the trees and hurting the environment and its animal residents in the process, with no pollution the rest of the Once-Ler’s family expect his mom and uncle of course disapproved of the idea meanwhile as they wanted to make thneeds and money now as they lacked patience unlike Bret, Chet and the aunt so they manipulated the Once-Ler and his aunt and brothers to resume chopping down the trees to speed up its production and make it by factory creating pollution after that and we all know what happens after that, and that's what they get for being impatient!
With all the intricate machines he made for specifically cutting down trees, he could’ve made one to harvest the tufts faster instead. But that’s not the point of the film. Sometimes Greed and Power can fog someone’s mind to a point where they don’t make sound decisions. This can happen to anyone, not just the Once-ler. It’s important to care for things other than yourself or your own personal gain, even if that’s hard to do sometimes.
It's fine if you chop down trees. You just need to plan which trees you should cut, not cut too many per day, and always replant a new tree after each cut one! It's not only good for business, but it's also to keep the environment around.
How long did it take for them to chopp down all the trees. The last tree fell around dawn or dusk since the sun is either going down or up in the Movie
1:14 Me: Perfect! *chop* Me: What was that? Lorax: WHA!? Me: Is that the tree!? Lorax: NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! STOP IT! PLEASE STOP! Me: COME ON, THIS IS THEIR HOME! YOU CAN'T CUT THEM ALL DOWN!
