The Lord of the Rings | Imperial Orchestra
Conductor - Lev Dunaev
🎻 How to highlight all the sharpness of drama and color the characters as much as possible? To make evil ugly and good blissful. Howard Shore has sacralized the music for The Lord of the Rings, and even if we close our eyes, we will feel which characters reign on the screen at the moment.
The violin is an amazingly multifaceted instrument that can display both light and dark forces. The Hobbit theme is obviously good, and the violins here just "lighten" the melody, making it light, warm, and in a duet with Vistula, the melody also acquires an ethnic, fantasy tint.
And as Tolkien himself wrote: "Anyone who can play a stringed instrument seems to me to be a magician worthy of the deepest respect. I adore music and am awed by the sound of violins."
