The Bard returns from Mordor having failed to destroy the fabled Lord of the Rings Online Collector's Edition. With typical dwarvish greed he has retreated to his inner halls to rebox it instead.
also for example his statue unboxings and reviews are very insightful. theyre interesting to me even though I'm not particularly interested in statues... To be fair he could probably talk about politics and inflation and I'd still find it entertaining.
The Shire makes LotRO a classic. Having that whole zone where you might run for 20 minutes without encountering anything more threatening than a bunch of gnats is just... delightful, lol.
I've just been pointed this way by a referral on Jim Sterlings Podquisition. It was for his excellent Heroquest video but I've just subscribed after watching a bit more. Hopefully some others will follow suit.
RU-vid is not eager to popularise the non mainstream. Recently it has gone back to suggesting facile videos from years ago. As a popularity contest, RU-vid is fixed. Algorithms pander to the demands of advertisers to popularise the banal and create a large group of easily manipulated punters.
Ah Mr Bardic, your wishes have come true, the Lonely Mountain is now part of a quest within the game as are many of the areas unavailable at the time this video was made. Sadly I had to give it up as running nine level 85 characters became very (VERY) time consuming and life wasting. I now only have my fond memories of strolling through Middle Earth on my way to Mordor...and a million plus screenies just incase I need a reminder now and again. I now have time to devote to more creative pastimes such as building and painting armies of Space Marines for good old 40K...What? well at least im being creative and not spending every waking minute in front of a PC screen, at least that's my excuse! Thanks for the video Bardic :)
I may only be a lad in my 25th summer, but I must have been raised right! I too have that poster, masterfully crafted by Jimmy Cauty, protecting me from the vengeful Tolkien. I may have found your channel a little late, but I must say that I can't get enough of your sense of humor. I must admit that I have even learned a thing or two from observing your mastery over scrutiny as you pull apart artistic concepts and expand upon them in a way I've never really seen before. Ah, but I doubt you'll ever even see this praise. I look forward to the one or two videos you may make this year!
This cracks more than anything that was ever cracking before. I love these videos, bard, and was laughing throughout. All that dwarfish zest of yours would be awesome to witness around a pen & paper roleplaying table.
By far, one of the best channels I've ever found on RU-vid! You, sir, are extremely entertaining and clever; a fantastic orator of fantastic subject matter. Thank you for this content! We all hope to see more :)
I reinstall this game at least twice a year just to run around The Shire as a lowly Hobbit minstrel. There's just something so peaceful, relaxing, and satisfying about it.
Ahh tally ho! I am doing that very thing even now, although I am a hunter this time out. Having a grand time tending the woods and boundaries of the shire :)
Loved your intro... hell, loved the whole damn video!. I can't honestly say I have seen ANY other channel where the host has anywhere NEAR the personality you present. As many people have already said you deserve more views!.
Goodness, this was a lot of fun to watch! I, too, am a big fan of LotRO, although my highest character is only in the mid-30s. I love the game and its presentation, music, characters, all of it! You've got me wanting to find a copy of the collector's edition myself. :) Thanks for this trip down memory lane!
This popped up as recomended for me and I'm glad that I clicked on it. Great sense of humor while providing with a good unboxing. Been playing LOTRO for almost 5 years now and I really want to get my hands on the music from the game.
You have such a brilliant enthusiasm for everything you put out, really beginning to love this channel.Really hope this channel explodes with views,I'm certainly a new member of the company :)
I had that poster on my bedroom wall, bought from Athena with money from my tenth birthday. It now hangs resplendent, framed above the dining table. Flippin love it. Best thing Jimmy Cauty ever did, and I include 'Doctorin the Tardis' in that.
Found this channel a few days ago (Heroquest anyone?). Spent plenty of time in LotRO over the years. Sir Bardic hits the mark dead centre. LotRO isn't perfect but exploring the Shire, or seeing Rivendell for the first time, are special moments in gaming for anyone excited by the writings of J R R Tolkien. Sir Bardic is a merry fellow!
with all the craziness that has been going on in the world, I have recently found myself setting up some nice war games and listening to you again in the background. the eccentricities of the famous Bard does this heart some good in these trying times. stay safe my friend, may your beard never grow thin!
BardicBroadcasts Bard I absolutely love your videos. Was trying to get some info on this particular Collectors edition for my purchasing. Found this video and all your others very entertaining and full of energy.
I whole heartedly love this game. I remember playing this from the very very frist alpha or whatever testing for it and became a founder and paid a 200 dollar lifetime subscription fee. I never raided much and I totally agree about just enjoying wandering around and taking all the visuals in.
I had that poster in college and had completely forgotten about it until I saw it again here. I have of course since purchased another copy, so as to assuage the ghost of Tolkien.
omg, i did get a heart attack while flip the pipe to the other hand...not because i am a big piper, it came out from nowhere, i was not ready to get you thow and catch. but it's late in the evening. the was geniouable oO
I heard you say you were sad we would be unlikely to ever see The Lonely Mountain/Erebor, good news for you: It's in tomorrow's Update 22 as well as having Dale and Northern Mirkwood.
Dude you're hilarious, ive watched a few of your videos now and I'd just like to that I also have that picture but slightly different, it's black and white, framed and it's a print of the drawing so not really a poster, anyway keep up the brilliant work.
I just tried it its awesome it's got charm they don't make games like they used too great game very relaxing pace beautiful world got plug-ins an skins setup I wanted the map smaller ect ty for video
You're welcome. It is a very handsome game and, I think, the overall best computer depiction of Middle Earth. The shire is lovely and one of the best zones of all MMO-dom.
Fantastic as usual! LotRO is still happening, and it's my favorite MMO as well, though they never made a fully playable evil campaign which I wanted from day one, but never received... I had to exercise my wickedness in other ways. Do you play The One Ring rpg? I notice many books on your shelves including Green Ronin's WFRP, one of my personal favs! I recommend a One Ring unboxing/review provided you were lucky enough to get the first edition. Do you also have the Dredd rpg from GW? A (re/un)boxing of this would likewise be great to watch you do.
@7:35 I sometimes like to inconvenience my enemies by whispering, while in their home, "LoTR is an allegory for WW2". As you know, Tolkien's vengeful ghost haunts the *location* where he is invoked, not the invoker.
Black bound GW manual, I have read you last and you have never failed me. I have always recovered from your ridiculous instructions and lawyerisms of the 90s. I had you from the original unboxing in days of old. If you ever came from the King of RU-vid channels, unbox and speed well.
You are a genius. I want more of your reviews! Where are you now (sept. 2018)? Are you lost in some enchanted forest? Please, come back again! Ah... one more thing. I totally don't care about "The Lord of the Rings Online Collector's Edition Reboxing", I simply love your style of reviews. You should do more other things, not only unboxing...
Lord of the rings, written in England, based on South Africa, filmed in New Zealand, finds its natural home in Australia, perfectly equidistant from all three.
Tried it when it went f2p was just getting somewhere when 4 little orcs, a dwarf, an elf and 3 bearded men swashbuckled their way into my Gamer-cave took up my PC and quested it over and under hills to the faraway depths of the darklands and cast it into the blue volcano screen of mt death. Freeing me of its addictive curse forevermore.
I'm hoping that you are still playing LOTRO and have managed to visit the Lonely Mountain and the Iron Hills. They are supposed to be spectacular, and I'm looking forward to seeing them properly. I did manage to dash to the Thrush's Stone on Durin's Day while avoiding the lethal wildlife, but I'm still too low-level to survive there for long.
Not knowing anything about it other than that it exists, I will say that I think a Gollum game is a good idea. His wanderings would make good basis for a game of some stripe. Far better than some sort of terrible hero-looter money scam game! But who knows how it will turn out?
@@BardicBroadcasts I do think a Gollum game is interesting in principle. I suppose some of the controversy surrounding it stems from the perception that such a concept is practically unheard of--at least that's how I see it. I just hope the intimidation felt by anyone looking to, in any capacity, adapt Tolkien's work pushes them in the right direction!
