These games you'd play multiple times. I think this game you'd play 5.5 times - once with each 4 main characters, once with isildur, and the .5 to get all the bonus/secret stuff. Then doing local multiplayer bouncing play styles off eachother and switching up characters and competing for scores meant this one game could be a whole childhood. This was like when white goods manufacturers hadn't discovered planned obsolescence yet and how fridges from the 50s still work, cause the manufacturers didn't realise it was better to make something that you couldn't reuse so the customer would return
Literally the only good LOTR games were made before 2010, not had a good one in ages. There's a mod for BFME 2, which gives it a lot of life, it's BRILLIANT. BFME 1 is being remade by fans as is Conquest. Wish someone would remake ROTK
@@MalachiayaBFME is great. The map campaign was my favourite. I have watched stuff for the second game, as well as the others like the Edain mod and such.
@@RhysCallinan-bv1wi BFME is brilliant, especially BFME 2 with the Age Of The Ring mod, it's a shame the Devs for that mod are arseholes though. Brilliant developers but shit people skills
This was the first game I ever played on PS2. I loved it. Especially when I found out that jiggling the right analogue stick filled the combo meter by auto combo-ing and gave you superpowered attacks. Cleaving through hordes of goblins was so satisfying. This has triggered a flashback though to the beserker who jumps out of the log in fangorn. Return of the king was a pretty good game too, although too many of the characters there were reskins of each other and it didn't quite work as well.
Oh my god this was one of my favorite games back in the day. I'll grab some popcorn, thanks for yet another amazing upload dude :) the nostalgia is real
Oh my God my childhood ! I spent a whole summer break playing this as a kid. It had excellent couch co-op too I played the whole thing a few times through with my buds. Ahh thanks for the memories I haven't thought of this in ages
I remember playing this as a kid. Not sure if my game was bugged or if it could just happen a lot, but that little bit at 1:30 had aragorn's model just slip off the edge of the cliff mid-cutscene
I like hinge said the game has no replay value but we all played it a million times. It's almost like you don't need infinite content and just need a good game.
THANK YOU, I remember playing this game but I never found it again after i got older but i had such fond memories of it playing with my friend cuz i always played it at their house. and now I see it suddenly all these memories flooding back into my brain. didnt expect that when I clicked on this video.
4:20 I remember this game. Still have it, but never beat it. I will say, though, that I always kinda wanna play my PS2. Not sure if you ever played them, or if they were your style, but I also really enjoyed Road Trip Adventure, Megaman X: Command Mission, and 007 Nightfire. Probably 3 games that I can replay a lot that don't have as much replay ability as I think. 😅
Oh my gosh this game was the best! I played this game so much. The Return of the King game was also so good! SO many memories! Isildur was ridiculously strong but Gimli had the best combos I thought haha good times.
I freaking loved the LOTR games on ps2. Also there was an Alien RTS where Marines and Aliens had to build up a small base and forces and do RTS stuff but i cant remember the name of that.
i love classics like this, might i interest you in a very underrated RTS for the OG Xbox? its this wonderful game called Alien vs Predator: Extinction and it is so unknown by the general public its a crime, its an RTS AvP game that lets you play as marines, predators or xenomorphs and all 3 have drastically different gameplay and was only ever available to the OG Xbox, im unsure if you can even emulate it but i have a physical copy and i tell you it was hard as hell to track down and im lucky i got it for £5
if you played on hard and on the last mission they actually DO! i spotted this when i had decided to pin the last of the predators into a corner as xenomorphs and they were still somehow able to call in more units despite practically no income@@muttahumppinbeegyoshi9704
I remember when my dad bought the ps2, he came home with lord of the rings, medal of honor, and GTA: Vice City. I played those to oblivion and back, and because I was 6 or something, I made no forward progress unless my dad or his friends did. Like, I literally could not play Fangorn forest, it was way to scary for me.
god i played this so much, i think it was the first game i got for PS2. return of the king probably had more replay value but i put so much time into this.
The Helm's Deep levels were my favorite and definitely perfectable by everyone. While they are useful for everyone, Gimli is carried by the bane counter attacks more than anyone else because of his ineffective model. The rush attacks were also important for him to get his slow ass into combat. Triangle, triangle, circle, triangle ftw
man haven't played this sense i was a kid and remember struggeling getting thru it tho still loved it now seeing how easy most of it is makes it so funny to me like the watcher. the bar on the helms deep mission is enemies on the wall so to decrease it you have to kill enemies for people who sees this and have problem with the mission.
The Two Towers/Return of the King, Gauntlet Legends, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, TMNT:IV Turtles in Time, Xmen/Simpsons Arcade, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 are IMO the ARPG GOAT games of the Couch Co-Op era. It's just too bad Local/Couch Co-Op games are becoming a dying breed in the world of Always Online/Paid Subscription/eSports we live in..
Omg this reminds me of a lotr game on Xbox that had mutiplayer and different classes and a hero fight game mode like battlefront but I forget what it's called loved that game
Holy shit I forgot this game existed. I beat it with every character back in the day (even isildur). I loved burning weekends on this gem. Cheers on another trip down memory lane AA.
Oh wow that would be amazing, can wait to see it. FYI there is an incredible and very active modding scene for these games. Titles like Age of the ring or Edain mod are trully something. I Highly recommend checking them out.
I'd love to watch you play The Hobbit game. No joke, my grandmom let me borrow her copy for the pc when I was a kid and I loved it so much I bought it for myself when I was older. 😊💕
The best line from gimli was when he was going to get thr oathbreaker king with aragon and legolas and he's blowing away the ghostly wisp smoke lol. Pffft pffft pfftttt t
It's odd how you clearly know a lot about the game from your childhood memories, but don't know to charge your throwing attacks to instantly kill a target or do a bunch of damage to some of the bosses. The game probably should have communicated that base function better.
