Thanks for watching! I'm glad to have gotten the opportunity to talk in-depth about the lore of Richard Night today! Let me know what other things you'd like to see from the world of Cyberpunk, and I'll see you again soon!
Great video as always! I love all of your cyberpunk videos, as for future videos, my most anticipated would be a standalone morgan backhand video, but also the videos going through specific gangs are awesome, would love to see ones for tiger claws, mox, and valentino's! Once again great content and can't wait to see more!
great video dude! been loving the lore deep dives. Richard Night and NightCorp have always been interesting to me as they act altruistically but really are an illusive shadow company that are seemingly pulling most of the strings in Night City. Mr. Blue Eyes is essentially CP2077's version of Mass Effects 'Illusive Man' and NightCorp seem to be his employers. The Illusive Man & Mr. Blue Eyes even look somewhat similar. Richard Night's wife is defo involved in this conspiracy as well! Can't wait for Cyberpunk Orion and more TTRPG expansions/books to flesh this out more!
Interesting... i'm just starting to get into Mass Effect as it happens. I've never played the gakes before, but i'm 6 to start in a week or so! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Illusive Man.
Very interesting that a man with good intentions built a city so ridden with corruption. But the story this game and the source books have to offer is amazing!!!!
Thank you so much for a great video. The hidden agenda behind Nightcorp has kept me up at night since the first time i played the game and discovered some of this data shards. It is sometimes a bit hard to keep track of all the threads that runs all trough the lore and small side stories in the game, so a huge thank you for making this video's to keep us on track all of us. All that being said, i get the feeling there is some "cut" stuff here. It is almost like they put alot of thought in to this thread with Nightcorp, and it was stopped at some point. Hopefully the next game picks it back up and take it all the way.
There's definitely something afoot that we aren't seeing, I fully agree. Perhaps it has to do with the Mr. Blue Eyes ending? Or the wherabouts of Morgan Blackhand?
Excellent video man! Having just finished 2077’s campaign in full recently, I’ve went scouring for lore videos wherever I can find them, and yours are the cream of the crop. Really like how you include the textual sources in the visuals when you’re citing specific passages from the source material. Your personal thoughts and analysis of the moral nuances and complexities of Cyberpunk’s world events and characters is also always appreciated, you have the exact type of mindset that’s perfect for getting the most meaning out of the stories told in Cyberpunk’s world. While I struggle to think of a suggestion for future topics, whatever you choose to tackle next I’ll for sure be there to watch and hear your insight.
This is fantastic! I'd love some lore dumps on some of the other megacorps famed in the Dark Future too. Petrochem, Biotechnica- or even the environmental disasters brought on by various conflicts, like the bio plague that wiped out most of the worlds food supply, animals, and agricultural production for decades. Hell, I think Petrochem and Biotechnica both had a hand in the recovery of that in the 2020's even. But my memory is fuzzy.
I would argue heavily that Night wasn’t as interested in the people as the businesses. He wanted a capitalist utopia, His words, Not just a utopia. Basically Night was a Corpo. A good Corpo, But a Corpo none the less.
The Arasaka tower wasn't 'decimated', it was utterly destroyed. You really need to learn what words mean, Everberon. To decimate is to reduce by one tenth, which is what Roman officers would do to their century if they were failing; One in every ten men were selected to be beaten to death by the other nine.
