When images of the remake were first shown off years ago, people complained that Takeuchi had saberfaced the cast. Do you agree? Would you prefer the classic to this version?
The new art style doesn't bother me. It appears to be intended to mix with the Fate series and the designs remain faithful to the original. And looking at old Arcueid artwork, she resembles some kind of proto-Saber (Even if she turned out to be a Berserker)
I mean, I have no beef with the new art styles but I guess after reading the manga I felt that the old one seems to be likeable, except for Shiki and Ciel, since the two are damn amazing
That's just his art style. In the original series of Tsukihime and Fate, all the female characters had the same face too. I think the "Saberface" accusation has gone too far.

I can only hope that when Tsukihime gets an event in FGO, we might have a chance. I could see them localizing it off the back of an FGO event, given the amount of money they make off whales, who might not know Tsukihime exists.
As much as I enjoy Tsukihime and will definitely enjoy this playthrough as long as Type moon doesn't copyright strike it. I'm pretty salty about type moon not giving a crap about english speaking fans. Either way I think I prefer the original to the remake at least with the original we got the hole story.
@@otakudaikun I'm glad we're going to eventually get all the routes. Since in my opinion the far side routes were better anyway. Definitely hope you'll cover the new versions of the other routes when there available
Yeah, I am REALLY salty about no English version of this game. With the old Tsukihime game, this was easy to fix by fans. Not so much with this new version.
@@freibier O yeah Typemoon this time around is pretty much flicking the English speakers the bird hardcore this time around. Who knows though they may surprise us as the VN progress.
I definitely have to say that the intro definitely has some real draw and the new characters have really caught my interest. I’m a little embarrassed that it took me about 5 minutes and thinking about some of the other characters to have my “aha!” moment about the howling dog though. I’m really surprised they’re not localizing this given FGO’s success and the popularity of Fate in general. I’m even more upset because Crimson Garden is also announced which has the Far Side routes with Satsuki added and its unlikely to get an English release as well. Just have to pray that they’re waiting for a double release in the US but I will admit that is a very small chance.

This video was really wonderful to watch! I really felt like everything in the remake exemplifies the love and effort the programmers, writers and artists put into making this novel gorgeous, and really insightful! I am frustrated that the company didn’t consider anything for the initial marketing of the remake, BUT i think I’ll definitely be rooting for more Tsukihime content AND try to boost voices asking for Tsukihime to get localized

Having read the original a decade ago, I am super happy for the remakes. And still only knowing basic japanese, I am glad for these videos, to know the differences between the original and remakes. Fingers crossed it doesn't get taken down, and that an english localization isn't left in the hands of the fans (again).
The new Characters seem interesting and natural for the story as people that could and should fit into the original story to explain some things that don't seem important in general. Reminds me of hollow ataraxia where small things are brought up that have major story elements in the original like why Rin and issie hate each other or the summoning circle with illya and Shirou hinting it was irisviel. Little things that add to the lore Too bad the brother banger and sister slammer jokes won't be more funny as akiha is left to whenever the second game comes. Still gonna wonder how they will handle the aoko end as it's basically the end of all the routes meeting her again. Face wise man so many look like saber but that's takeuchi in a nutshell. Akiha and aoko look very nice overall and ciel is just honestly older mashu to me as I didn't care much about her originally. Honestly mostly interested in Sachin for the next game aside akiha as I wanna see where nasu goes with a whole new arc compared to illya having a whole spin off to herself
After Arc route, which is mostly the same, in Ciel route the story takes a huge turn and thats what differentiate Remake from Original - key points are the same but changed and added content is crazy. You only feel it when you see it, yeah. Its really fun to learn Tsukihime again. Now i wonder what new wild elements will be in Far Side Remake... Would be crazy if Kouma shows up too as he is in MBTL and roster (with the world itself ofc) there is based on Tsukihime Remake. The new Characters really is interesting and natural and i was really suprised how i didnt think about this element after KT+MB and F/HA.
@@ivanbluecool For sure, its just you dont expect THAT level of crazy lore and new elements setting in motion in that scale sicne Key points is same-ish. Nasu really evolved as a writer thanks to FGO too. And Ciel finally got what she deserved from the start by her lore and potential (glipses of which was in KT, Tsuki Manga by Sasaki Shonen and MB). Its really cool.
@@arowmorth nasu is a mixed bag in writing where he goes up or down in content. Tsukuhime original with ciel. Fsn hf with time. ANYTHING CELTIC AND NORDIC RELATED ESPECIALLY LB 6. Etc. tsukuhime remake he wrote for many years on top of it already being written so it wasn't hard to see him add to it.
I want Sensei Route for Him just like in Carnival Phantasm “Hikaru Genji Route they should call” also I want to see if Shiki remembers the Massacre of his real family and imagine him or something possessing him to get revenge maybe in a alternate universe

Okay first off, Ciel is my waifu after watching the opening of her route. Second, it really irks me that typemoon haven’t said a thing about localization. They have to know that there is a market for profit outside of Japan. Hope we get a release of this game. Never played any of the visual novels of typemoon (does FGO count?) but I’d love to try this game
Nasu doesn't release his VN's outside of Japanese because there is not a direct translation for many of the words/topics he discusses. I believe this was the reason he gave in an interview.

Yep as a person who tryi3e to by type moon merch from their main site, I can confirm that you need a Japanese address to even but stuff like their wall scrolls and what not
If Noel came onto _me_ as hard as she was coming onto Shiki, I'd probably give into her charms almost immediately. Also, dear _God_ the 17 piece dissection was bloody in the remake! That CERO Z rating is no joke!
After seeing this video I tried to recall when was it that I first played/read the fan-translated original, which was also my first visual novel ever. And it turns out: approximately 13-14 years ago. Friggin 13 years... And I'd still love to play and read this while guessing how many years it will take to get this localized and will I care by that time and point.

Waver playing on Nintendo Gamecube and getting 2004 retro moe gal game from Flat. Kara no kyoukai anime was kept in 1999 with Touko playing on Gameboy ;)
I think it's neat when technology ISN'T modernized, it'll make you nostalgic if you grew up with it and if you're really young it'll help you understand a previous era better.

I would immediately get this game if it was available for western countries (in English). I mean, I already had to jump through hoops to get the Emiya cooking game here in Germany for my Switch (create US account, get US Nintendo store credit codes from a shady website because they did not like my German VISA card, etc.). But if they do not even offer a US version of the game, I guess I have to enjoy the old VN some more.
America shouldn't have been so censorship happy! Otherwise we would of have this game translated into English, and have it release in the United States!
@@josefonseca9178 If Type Moon did the localization themselves it'd be way cheaper and I'm confident there'd be a ton of fans to justify that low cost.
Not all American tho they're are some in American who hate censorship too it's the older generation not the younger generation who do most of the censorship in my opinion.
From what I've been hearing so far the remake seems very good and it seems ciel got proper character development (forgot to add but Araku seems like a fun ass character ngl)

At first I wondered why ciel was such a joke in the tsukuhime sequel story but then I saw the original and was thinking it's just arc again. Hopefully it goes more into solo stuff or executor story with little to less arc overall as if it's the same it's basically one big arc route game.

(better yet if done in the tone and style of Garden of Sinners) I'm tired of Fate getting all the attention when Tsukihime damned near made Fate possible. The only Fate I want expanded on is the prototype..
As someone who decided to dive into the tsukihime lore due to the new Melty Blood. It would be great if you kept up with this series. Relatively new subscriber that has already watched your entire tsukihime (classic) playthrough and I'm looking forward to seeing even more of your content in the future.

VNs have a history of not selling well here in NA so I’m not surprised that there hasn’t been an announcement for localization. At the same time tho, Melty Blood Type Lumina is getting a worldwide release on the same day (digital only for NA tho). And if they do the smart thing and put Saber in as a guest character, that will attract all the Fate only fans to Tsukihime, which in turn, would of boosted the remake sells. Especially since this Melty is suppose to be a PREQUEL!
@@otakudaikun probably gonna be a ‘what if’ type of thing. Not truly canon to the overall story. Hence why the in-game lines can still have them interact like they know each other while the story can have fun with ‘what if’ scenarios
Honestly from what I’ve read through the wiki, I still think that the anime handled Roa the best. Even though SHIKI is completely under Roa’s control, I always thought he should still have the body of SHIKI. When I saw the trailers I got excited thinking that Vlov was Roa in SHIKI’s but unfortunately not. Also, does this version have the eroge? I’m getting conflicting answers?
