The Dwarven Kingdoms are amongst the oldest on Thedas, and for good reason. The stubbornness of the dwarves is not to be underestimated, even when it comes to their entire race slowly declining. Just ignore it, it'll go away eventually.

Can't believe I hadn't watched this yet. Really great job, well researched, and edited together nicely. I know this one took you a long time but it shows in the quality. Also, finally someone gives the dwarves their time since lord knows on StV we always end up talking elves.

Dragon Age dwarves were always somewhat disappointing to me. It’s always felt as though the writers were trying to make their Dwarfs unique, but it was as unique in sense of Wood Elves cutting swaths of forests down to build and run a bunch of factories would be unique.

i think part of the problem is that the writers wrote themselves in a corner with the dwarves. low breeding rate combined with constant depletion thanks to the never ending darkspawn incursions mean there is little the dwarves can actually go and do. there are only like 2 big cities, and everything else, even expeditions are extremely difficult, dangerous and costly. so there is literally nowhere to really go.

The dwarf lore i always thought was the best part of dragon age, one of the most interesting and well thought out fantasy cultures I’ve seen in a game. It’s a shame they discarded it for the whole Templar mage civil war arc
