I just love how LA has basically given the middle finger to the NFL as a whole. The city and area thrived for 20 years without a team. The league clearly needs LA far more than vice versa.
The NFL doesn't need LA either. They were sitting pretty as America's top sports league from 1995-2015. They just saw an opportunity to make more money with Stan Kroenke's new palace in Inglewood.
Ted Faas well, if they’re making more money because of LA, then they needed it. That’s the game of capitalism, good friend. If you-as a business-aren’t trying to maximize profit, you’re going to sink, sooner or later. Usually sooner. It’s like a top clothing chain opening a superstore in the middle of Times Square. Yes they were already a top chain, but they’re making hella more money now (and pleasing shareholders) with the new, mega location. Get it?
The NFL owners in those twenty years was basically blackmailing the host cities of their clubs to buy their club a new stadium and give more money or that the team “Eill move to LA.” I don’t know the specifics, but why move from San Diego? Isn’t San Fiego a wealthy city? The team has been there for almost sixty years. Just stupid greed and the Spanos guy is reaping it now. This is why I basically I have turned my back on the NFL, just for the stupid ass greed. Fuck the NFL in the ass.
what does me being a jags fan have anything to do with this, your just over reacting for no reason, yeah it's sometimes annoying when people advertise their channel but to react like that to him and others is too much man
LA is more of a College ball city: the USC/UCLA rivalry goes on at all levels. About 10+ years ago, signs were hung over the entrances to the Colosseum (where USC plays), "With teams like these, who needs the NFL?"
The USC/UCLA rivalry is a lot of good-natured competition. Lots of fun! I'm not privy to their financial details, but it was chickenshit that the Chargers' organization left a loyal fanbase in San Diego.
I see those Metal Gear references. Outer Heaven? Mother Base? Metal Gear? NANOMACHINES? PSYCO MANTIS? Tree, have you just finished playing Phantom Pain?
Brandon Staley and the 2022 Los Angeles Chargers: You had a 27-0 lead and had five takeaways that led to 20 points and converted six more third downs, and you still lost?! What a massive choke job. I bet Marty Schottenheimer, Ladainian Tomlinson, Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Shawne Merriman, Nate Kaeding, Marlon McCree and the 2006 San Diego Chargers are off the hook as the biggest chokers in team history.
2022-23 Season: Alright it is done, you finally managed to make it to the playoffs for the first time since the 2018-2019 season and you have a 10-7record, and you managed to get into a Wild Card Game! And you are humiliating the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 27-0 lead; you know what to exactly do SWEEP THE F***ING LEG! FINISH THEM! 30-14: Okay you got blown the f**k up okay listen It's not that big of a deal, I know things may not be so bad just make sure to regroup and take them down in the other quarters YOU GOT THIS! 30-20: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... 30-28: Really is this how we are doing s**t now?! Don't do it Don't Do It Charges Don’t Go Full Chargers Again! this year Boys! Especially when you have a decent season if you screw this up again you may as well delete the franchise again!, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T MAKE ME SAY IT! 30-31: REVERSE SWEEP! YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU BLEW IT! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU BLEW IT! F***k you, Spanos! Choking Reigns Supreme! Congratulation! Los Angeles Chagres!
Instead of 28-3. It’s 27-0. They can’t even be the AFC version of the Falcons anymore without the 28-3 fiasco. They are the Falcons but with the 27-0 choke
We could’ve gotten a chip on 06 but that nigga didn’t show up for shit LT carried the offense and the defense fucked up Brady but he and McCree fucked us over Smfh. I’m still bathing in sadness from that loss 😤
@@mtmaruchan3179 Unfortunately, Philip Rivers' detractors will say, "Philip, didn't do his own end of the bargain in either playoff game against the Pats."
As someone who lives in San Diego. Sell them back here, give us Jeff Bezos, he'll build a stadium like nothing. People are fans here, just not fans of Dean spanos and with Padres taking serious into competition, we deserve our football team back!
As a Southern Californian I will ranked all NFL teams in California by popularity(my opinion of course) 1.Raiders( might change when they leave) 2.49ers 3.Rams(if they win the super bowl they're moving up) 4.other NFL teams(mainly Cowboy fans) 5.San Diego Chargers 6. LA Chargers
I went to school in southern california, saw like 3-4 chargers fans there, way more steelers, cowboys, vikings, packers, niners, broncos, and of course the other california teams, the chargers are way smaller than they should be in southern california.
@@TheCaptainjuicyread the article why your team sucks 2018 Los Angeles chargers from Deadspin and read the comments section. It'll better illustrate why they don't have any more fans.
@@TheCaptainjuicy I live in LA as well, I've seen plenty of people wearing Raiders and Rams merch. The ONLY time I remember seeing ANYBODY wearing any Chargers gear was this old man I spoke to in line at the DMV...AND HE HAD JUST MOVED HERE FROM SAN DIEGO.
This, in a way, is my favorite of all Urinating Tree videos. The imagery, the music choices...There is something so beautifully Noir about this thing that so suits what he's talking about so well. I hope that Tree reverts to the Metal Gear motif this year.
Yeah I used to be a Charger fan. Then they left to LA. I’m from San Diego so my loyalty didn’t follow them. It stayed here in my city. What sucks about it is I knew they would win in LA in spite of me. And now they are 9-3 and on there way to a playoff run. I’ve never wanted them to return to form so bad. All those years in SD, all the heart break, fumbling INTs, late hitting QBs at the end of games, missed field goals, bad play calls, all the stupid things they did to lose us our chance at a championship well now I hope that happens in LA. I hope they get all the way there to the SB and then miss a FG in the last second of the game to lose. Fuck the Chargers, fuck LA(in the sports sense), and yes I am hurt(as much as one can be about a sports team) but that was my team. I started watching football as a kid in 2004. I loved that team, LT(#21) is my favorite player of all time. I went through that hardship when we had a chance to beat the jets and missed a FG, went through the 14-2 season that they gave the game to Brady in the playoffs , even six years later in like 2010 i was 16, we lost to Mark Sanchez and the jets again. That was the last time I cried for the team. Point is a lot of us loved the SD chargers, and when football in SD stopped our love for it stopped too. This was the long way of saying I’m not a fan in-fact I hate them(as much as you can a sports team). Ps. If they would have called themselves the Southern California Chargers I would be a fan to this day. But Spanos is a bitch that left the city with his tail between his legs as fast as he could without acknowledging us because he didn’t get his little baby stadium. He threw a fit and stomped his way out and guess what he stomped on a lot of fans around here too so now it would take 2 changes for me to like the Chargers again. 1. New ownership 2. Name change to Southern California Chargers, like New England patriots, no one gives a fuck that it’s in Foxborough because they represent the whole area. Well I’d feel the same way if the Chargers represented SO CaL instead of LA.
As a charger fan from San Diego (Yes I'm STILL a fan), this video and it's references are greatly appreciated. The Bolts are quite literally a team without a city. I appreciate your sympathy, Tree!
Cleveland may have the Factory of Sadness with the Browns... but Seattle will ALWAYS have the Dispensary of Disappointment that is the Mariners. Go M's!
This is one of the most relatable, insightful, thought-provoking videos you have ever done. In my opinion, this video exemplifies your strongest strength and the most impressive aspect that makes your channel legendary: using both your influence and knowledge in sports and internet/video game culture to deconstruct and appraise the state of any North American professional sports club. Darren, you are one of the smartest men I have never met and am proud to be part of your community. The last thing I need before I put your picture on my dresser is the ultimate deconstruction of Eugene Melnyk raping the Ottawa Senators. Thanks again fam, keep up the legendary craft.
Waiting for the San Diego/LA Chargers: A Legacy of Failure. they had 2 LOLCOW and 2 Congrats Videos so its fitting to do a Legacy of Failure on that franchise next. it will be burital.
As one of the few loyal Chargers fans out there, all I can say is "Fuck You Spanos. You screwed us over and you should be blamed for it. Sell the team immediately!"
Wow, UT voice is different when he has a higher quality mic. It's like, you can hear the old school voice yet also a new mix. But still have the same delivery which is the best part of any UT video.
Unless something changes, Philip Rivers will go the same route Dan Fouts went: respectable stats that will enshrine him in Canton, but no Super Bowl titles not Super Bowl appearances.
As a huge Metal Gear fanboy, I can confidently say this is the greatest NFL or football related video ever made. NFL Films should close down immediately as they have no hope even equaling this masterpiece.
As a former Chargers fan.....my last wish on earth, is for the Chargers to attend my funeral as pallbearers; so as my body is getting ready for its final resting place.....they can let me down one last time.
The Chargers can’t go back to San Diego as that city now has a new football team one of 8 teams that will be part of the alliance of American football which kicks off the week after SB 53
