The Amber Room has been the number one target for many treasure hunters since its disappearance. Adorned with stunning amber panels, gold decor, and intricate mosaics, the extraordinary chamber was originally located in the Catherine Palace near Saint Petersburg, Russia. But during World War II, the Nazis seized the Amber Room and transported it to Königsberg (now Kaliningrad), where it was displayed in Königsberg Castle. However, as the war drew to a close, the Amber Room vanished without a trace.
Today, historians, treasure hunters, and researchers tirelessly search for clues to uncover its fate. Join us as we delve into the history, mystery, and ongoing hunt for this lost treasure.

Id bet money that the amber room is currently somewhere in europe, owned by a wealthy art collector who has owned the piece since the early 1950s. The controversy and value of the amber room further encourages the current owner or family to quietly keep the prized possession to themselves. It most likely has been handed down to younger generations within a family as people died. You cant easily offer it for sale without advertising that you own it which leads me to believe it has most likely been owned by a single individual for decades. I also think its most likely still in its original form, broken down to individual panels. Unlike gold jewelry that can be melted down while still offering the same value, the amber room is mainly valuable for its architectural design & historic value.

It's a myth, from an ancient eastern sources, there's an actual amber or fully gold covered room as part of the palaces of the Persian empire or the assyrian empire, handed down from King to King through the centuries.. I believe.

40 million, not 60 million years. Baltic amber is not paleocene, it is eocene. And there is no such distinction as "old" and ,"new" Baltic amber. Just exposed and unexposed amber.
