Some of the cut executions are just straight up goofy. Like the soda can one was pretty slapstick and the fact that for each vibrator execution he makes a deliberate effort to turn it on before using it and then turning it off afterwards is just peak comedy.
As much as i would love to see another Manhunt game in the works i seriously doubt it would ever happen. And the major reason being is the Adults Only rating is essential the " Kiss of Death" to video games ever seeing a release date on consoles since Mircosoft, Sony and Nintendo refuse to publish games that carry the AO rating. Furthermore many major retailers don't allow AO games on their shelves. The only other option would be for the game to be released exclusively on PC only and sold online from the developer website.
i can't believe you actually gave a valid reason of why there couldn't be a manhut 3 instead of going "hurr durr it'll get cancelled by snowflakes" or something like that, good job lol
They can totally make a manhunt game with an m rating, we had games like scarface, gta ect that show worse things. i mean in gta v you literally have torture a dude and its not censored in any way and the esrb gave that an M, manhunt could be a great franchise to revive especially with the love of horror right now and horror multiplayer games it could easily have online to go with its main story but rockstar wont make it because all they give a shit about is gta You see what they did with rdr2 online
Fun Fact: You can actually find James Earl Cash’s beta model in two levels. 1. His head on a spike outside Starkweather’s Mansion. 2. His body crucified on a cross-shaped tree in the same level. 3. His body again in the Darkwood Penitentiary, where you can easily find him on the electric chair. And it’s also possible to find beta Cash’s body on the stretcher.
All the runners that Piggsy killed was fed to him except for the heads they were used at spikes, and the hunters that cash killed were also fed to Piggsy no wonder he got so fat Starkweather was insane.
Most people was love Manhunt 1, But Manhunt 2 has a place in my heart. Seeing innocent man becoming double agent and hurt his family while fighting his second personality was my favourite.
Same I played Manhunt 1 first, but only for like a few minutes for me as much as I liked it I just wanted to play another game but Manhunt 2 really showed how insane of a company Rockstar was many people said Manhunt 1 was brutal but Manhunt 2 came even more brutal. People said, "This game is shit." The media buried this game in shit and pissed on its grave. Society put this game 20 ft under. While the people who played this game tries to dig it out. Manhunt 2 is a very unique game like Manhunt 1 and it deserves a Redemption more than any other horror game. You don't fight demons but you fight Madmen, Terrorists, Agencies hell even the own police. No other game can replace this game in horror not even The Evil Within which is much more tamed compared to this game..
See my theory is that James gets forced to watch Skibidi Toilet and the pure mental damage he receives from watching it causes him to think the cameramen are real
I still reckon they cut the clowns because they were too close to the smileys. Considering they had the babyfaces, I don't think having Gacy was gonna phase them. Similarly, the camheads would've been a touch too cyberpunk. Still annoyed that they didn't have the tramp killing binbag and surprise boss at the end of a level where he's dodging the lost. There's even an easter egg about him in some cut content for GTAIV. Can't remember the vid I dug it up on though. Thanks for the deep dive. You even managed to bring up one thing I didn't know about w/ the Jesperson link, and I've gone so far down the manhunt rabbit hole I've even watched the out of bounds vids and such!
As someone who has played through both and performed all executions: The Orange executions are somehow more gruesome than the Red ones a lot of the time and I really don’t understand it.
There’s an article explaining why they’re never making another Manhunt game again. The only developers that I depend on to make a Manhunt clone is RWS. They’re not afraid of being super edgy. I’d say Puppet Combo, Who’s made games where you play as the killer, but it would be stuck on Patreon forever and left unfinished. My advice for them is to not make anymore new games until the others are finished.
Pretty sure scarecrow IS the tramp you escort. In scarecrows bonus feature it even goes into detail of the tramps appearance and even the sounds he makes as a tramp which seems a bit too detailed considering most of the other features mostly focus on Hunter's personas more so than their identity
Definitely due remake or a new title, as I say with all the old school Rockstar games. It was so far ahead of its time for shock value. Its an amazing game.
Fr, you get spoiled from using apps like tiktok at a young age , but playing games like MH and GTA ? Hell no I played half life and it's expansions when I was 10 and I turned out fine too
I uploaded the beta for Manhunt 2 PS2 version to the internet archive. Maybe something is in there still that was removed in the retail version. Also, as you probably already know by now, the PC version of Manhunt 2 is also on the archive.
My older brother made me my first computer when I was like 11 or 12, he installed some awesome games like Max pain 2, operation flashpoint and manhunt. Manhunt was so hard and interesting for me at that time.
Originally in Manhunt each gang have their own boss and boss fight (with an exception of swat and cop) they scrapped the idea probably due to time constraint and difficult mechanic.
I find it funny how much every RU-vidr always talks about how horrible and sickening this game is but I find mortal kombat finishers to be more gruesome
Its crazy cause manhunt isn't even that Crazy compared to contemporary games in violence but the Tone is very Gritty and dirty But Part 2 is very violent
Fun fact about Gacy's clown, "Pogo." Majority of clown makeup is supposed to have rounded edges, as pointy ones end up looking really sinister, and Gacy's actual makeup for Pogo is just like the one shown from the cut Clowns gang, very pointy and angular which tends toward being scarier. Soft and rounded styles comes off as far more friendly. Many of the make-up patterns are either copied or inherited or worn as a token of respect to elder or well known circus artists.
Manhunt truely hit different most games you play as a soldier killing terriost/mercs or in a gang killing for cash But manhunt the 1st game you fight for no good, you fight for your life and run from crazy lunatics or men who are evil to the core and also the fact that you were a terrible person but run away from people who are just as crazy you just feel alone This game is the perfect example of not only what monsters can do to other monsters but what humans are truely capable of
There is a painkiller bottle on top of the room where the electrical box is used to open the gate at the end of White trash. Its glowing and pick-up-able.
The Camheadz used GTA Online was actually originally a Manhunt Arcade but was never released for about a year until it was remade to the Camheadz and changed some elements to remove the direct ties to Manhunt itself
I can see the camheads being the camera crew stalking cash while recording him Hence how they get the angles when cash executes someone . that’s my head canon
2:32 I'll never forget when I first saw that execution animation. Holy crap. I had seen slasher movies and the like, but that was the most screwed up thing I had ever seen.
I think if there ever was a 3rd Manhunt game, it should either take place in high security prison, summer camp, a factory/mega-corporation or university campus. And whatever the plot people are gonna come up with.
It seems they took the idea for James W. Gacey and brought it over to the warriors for the Hi-Hats. Chatterbox has the whole John Wayne Gacey get up and was really into art. Fun stuff
Given how there is a tramp escort mission in Manhunt. And seeing as how Jesperson was formerly The Smiley leader. I could see him being a mission objective in The Asylum. With Starkweather manipulating Cash into escorting Kenneath to his Scarecrow costume and axe. Triggering the bossfight with Scarecrow.
Overall, I think the game and its sequel are pretty fun. I think they did good pushing the boundaries and making something disturbing, since you don’t see it too often. Definitely a lot of fun to play!
manhunt 1 is such a cool idea it reminds me of warriors or escape from new york like a place within a civilized society just completely run by crime. Should be more games in carcer city
I might be old and nearly 30 but thanks for posting these videos it calms me down and I learn new stuff. I still remember when my country Australia banned these games hahaa
I’m pretty sure my moral standing is more honest and impecable than that of those who condemned this game. These were violent games from back when Rockstar was still a small to medium studio that wasn’t afraid to go beyond the conventional. Before they became the bloated triple A studio they are these days. I’ll take Manhunt over RDR2 any day of the week, and I can’t help but laugh at the people at Rockstar who were scandalized by it.
I can see why the soda machine execution and newspaper executions were cut. They look stupid. The newspaper one could've worked if the character shoved it down enemies throat violently. But the soda machine one is just goofy, it makes it look like a parody of the first game. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 OK just saw the dildo executions. Yeah definitely removes a great deal of the dark grittyness rockstar was aiming for.
The Manhunt franchise is amongst my top 5 favorite games of all time. The story is so interesting and it's all so dark and gritty, yet I love it. Hearing what was cut in the 2nd game makes me sad since some of the content sounded too cool to pass up, it's a shame really. But at least some mods have restored beta content. Also the flowers and milk sounds funny, reminds me of the dildo weapon. I assume you'd find that level in Sexual Deviants, for obvious reasons.
8:42 can somebody confirm: I think it is possible to kill that guy on toilet by throwing brick at him through window? I think i did it once, but i may be wrong.
The original story for M2 was that Leo wasn't even meant to be in it, it was actually going to be a doll that would tell Danny to kill people and even the menu looked different to how it is now
Oh hey, a clown faction that ran the art galleries? Idk which came first but if Manhunt came before The Warriors game, i believe they must've repurposed that concept for the Hi-Hats gang. They, like alot of the other gangs in the movie, were only really fleshed out by their appearance alone so it does make sense.
@@nickrustyson8124 yeah because even though the gangs are meant to be weird/creepy the camheads don't really fit in all too much with the others(but still a really good and off-putting gang tho)
@@ericquiabazza2608 How's that funny? Danny smashes the hunter so hard to the vending machine that it shatters and some sodas cans falls out of it. He hits the hunters head with full force with soda cans and then shoves a soda can so hard on the hunter's face that it sticks in it. The hunter is 90% dead by all these brutal beating. Even then, Danny runs and hits with his knee on the hunter's head with full force, which was leaning against the vending machine. This will not only kill him, but crushed his head severely mutilating it.
I’ve always get stuck in that one mission where you have to perform the 3rd stealth care. You kno how each kill has a more stealthy and gruesome kill than the last ? Was having trouble
I replayed manhunt 1 on my PS4 on the hardest difficulty. I finished the game through many times of dying over and over again. But once I finished it. It felt like a weight was lifted of my shoulders because the difficulty experienced was not easy.
the first Manhunt was such a massively well made game that was pushing boundaries the industry wasn't ready for at the time, hence why the sequel got so nurtured, its a shame we likely wont see anything from this series again be it HD versions, remakes or sequels because the company is a little ashamed of what this games tone does to their image, when people accuse your company of making games aimed at making kids into psychopaths......it doesn't help having games where you intentionally play as Psychos with no choice but to murder, yeah its not a good look on paper ^^;
@@zorgapb4691 I think because of how much society has changed since well... Any tragedy that involves murder, game companies probably won't make a game as hardcore as Manhunt cause it probably won't fly well will many. I hope this made sense
My thinking on Camhedz (if they were a thing in game) would be that they are a sign of your sanity slipping. Like- they are either paranoid halucination of knowing you are being watched or a side effect of violence you commit and the reason you were made to commit it, but the latter one would be fitting for a different character than one you play as in Manhunt
Agreed, Cash was just a merciless crook, henious enough to be put on deathrow, that was aware of his situation and just wanted to escape Danny on the other hand was a helpless brainwashed guniea pig that couldn't remember half of the things that happened pre-volunteering for the Project, and became even more paranoid and violent as the story unfolded, so the camhedz would've fit him better, as another hallucination and a sign that the Project was always watching him
4:58 i think the camheads were meant to be a hallucation, James takes painkillers in order to survive and thats all he gets for nutrition during the course of the game so it wouldn't a surprise when he takes too much and starts seeing things
Tbh Manhunt aged surprisingly well. The first game still looks somewhat decent and it's hardcore af. Grainy vhs filter really adds to a snuff movie theme they went for. The ai of the enemies, the insane OST, clever stealth mechanics and sheer difficulty of melee combat really amplify the terror of being hunted. It's a very brutal survival horror they just don't make anymore and I can't recommend it highly enough.
I think old graphics work well in this game's favor as an art-style, because its looks old, rusty and leaves half of the disturbing visuals to the player's imagination.
Even if they weren't, not gonna happen. I don't know about you but ever since the end of the 6th generation, game designers don't push the enveloppe like they used to.
