When you talk in your intro about cheating a galtha into play with fight rigging and puting 2 more dinos into play....and it's your oppo who does it :D This was a nice video! You seemed pumped up and the good vibes you emit are refreshing! Thanks for the upload!
That last game had some insane potential if they weren't so low on life. The Locus of enlightenment did get a planeswalker loyalty. You can recycle every single planeswalker into the jewel and have access to one cast of each planeswalkers ability per turn. It is the soul cauldron combo for planeswalkers/ any potential activated ability rather than just creatures. Though it can't go infinite like soul cauldron.
I think the two mana mana dork should be swapped out for topiary stomper. The one mana mana dork seems alright, but the four mana red Dino could also be swapped out for the new green mana four drop raptor that has ward and provides two green mana every turn. Seems a little bit better when you want to ramp into big Dino’s, and the ward makes a huge difference
The one-of Gishath is a delicious inclusion! The hammerskull stun counters happen on the declare attackers step, if it attacks without any other dinos around.
Last game, their strategy might have been to get several planeswalkers with plus abilities fused onto the jewel, since the jewel says you can activate each ability of each card once, their plan might have been to use all the pluses, get the loyalty counters, and pop an ultimate on the same turn. But I think because loyalty abilities specifically have an overriding rule that states only one loyalty ability per permanent per turn, they found out they weren't able to activate the rest of them and gave up? (but it could also have been that they were fine with the once per turn and misclicked)
In the last game, opponent likely assumed they could activate each loyalty ability once, when in fact they are restricted to one loyalty ability per permanent. They used the Sorin +1 (which worked as normal but obviously they couldn't pay for the top card) then tried to use another only to find they could not. Cool card though, liked the idea!
This is the deck where I don’t even care if it had a strong win percentage. It’s just fun to play big chonky dinos. WotC recognized that and made cards that make it easier to play those chonky boys.
I wonder where Huatli, Poet of Unity fits in the Dino deck. I think it’s saga is really strong in standard. It also puts lands in hand doubling as ramp.
Noticed you didn't have holo style for basics - presuming you ae playing on prerelease account. just a fyi, the M19 & M20 lands are always available to ugrade in arena.
In the last game, it looks like the Enigma Jewel is bugged. The loyalty abilities are activated abilities, and they did not function as intended. EDIT: Nvm, I just learned I can listen better than I can read lol
What they did is activate the Sorin +1 “look at top card, you can reveal and draw and lose life” with 2 life… might be a misclick on their end or a bug but it did nothing cause it likely cost more than 2 life if they drew it
@@nikoboivinOh, I was listening more than watching. Thanks for clearing that up. (Thought they exiled the top 10 from Chandra's +1 copied like CGB commented.)
@@slendyspy2675 To be honest I thought so as well and had to go back and pause on the frame where the ability is on the stack cause I was confused AF as well
Apologies ahead of time for what might seem like a long "rant" to some, but I am fed up with the way Ixalan has depicted blatantly copied and recycled depictions of Mezoamerica and other things in these sets over the years. More daywalking vampire spanish conquistadors, dinosaur themed "Lost World" mixed with "Journey To the Center of The Earth" nonsense...And pirates again. Because it wasnt bad enough to keep having conquistadors shitting on our collective ancestry again, they had to bring back pirates again too. Everytime some franchise pulls what I call an "Apocalypto Syndrome" move, it just makes me pull back and walk away further. And yet Hasbro says there was input and work put in from our fellow Latinos? And this is all they could come up with? If there had been proper awareness with the input with the very first Ixalan years ago to make it really shine respectfully, have masterpiece mythic rares, great chase cards and fsatisfying seeming humanoid deities like all the other "culturally cloned" sets got, Ixalan might not have been such a disappointment to put it mildly. Theros, Amonkhet, hell even that Nordic/ Viking called Khaldheim set had themes that matched their ancient cultures well enough to be both satisfying enough and relatively respectful towards their cultures. Nothings perfect, but why has HAsbro screwed the pooch so often with Ixalan? Even an older set like Kamigawa was done well enough to be well received as one of the "golden" examples of a satifying set based on an old culture. The same was true of the Portal 3 Kingdoms set, and others. Arabian Nights was good for the time but did have a few eyebrow raising depictions that might have gone against the grain when looked up carefully. But then there was MIrage, and believe it or not, as much as many of us liked it at the time, a good number of people took offense to it back in the day, and I only found out years afterwards from black people I talked ot about mtg how some felt it did injustice upon them and theirs. Upon closer inspection of certain cards therein, its easy to see why it walked on a tightrope. But at the time of its release, many of us were too young to understand ( I blame the education system. History class even up to high school was piss poor as far back as the eye can "see"). Mtg made Streets of New Capenna, or as I called it "New Al Capponna" which was clearly themed around the Italian mob, but I heard little commentary about it beyond " Oh cool, mtg gangsters". Khaladesh was cool though theres a lotta subtext and commentary to be made about the themes present in that clearly "indian/Hindu" based mtg set involving the "tech" industry, despite mtg being a mostly pre tech, magic only franchise for the most part. Yet Khaladesh worked, was really cool, and didnt try to do anything outright offensive. Khaladesh got GORGEOUS masterpiece chase cards like Amonkhet did, and Zendikar to a lesser extent. Eveyrthing was on building on such a cool track with all these "culture" sets one after the other... But we descendants of Mezoamerica got the block format changed, way different treatment with less impressive cards, lessgrandeur and majesty, much less value in the cards overall as the foils werent as good, we got lame dinos and "gods" that bore ZERO resemblance to our ancestral pantheons. Ixalan also had weird unappealing merfolk, insufficient representation for the inhabitants of Ixalan itself, lazy worldbuilding and had pirates trying to loot and pillage the native brown folks world. But the worst part was the additon of daywalking, bloodsucking, golden armored spanish conquistador vampires...FROM A VAMPIRIC SPAIN in all but name...=_= If another set was made about people whom were culturally oppressed and once on the verge of annihilation, with veritable depictions of their age old oppressors also in said set, people would rightfully see it for what it was and be pissed off. But if its us brown folks? "Nah its ok. Its all good fun and games cause its just fiction." Its blatantly obvious that would not fly if sets were made surrounding people not of color or anyone else with their culture and those that tried to annihilate them in the same set. But we get the shaft again, ala "Apocalypto" style once more. And yes I did name it years ago after tha Mel gibson flick came out. Say it with Mayan people that laughed at its stupidity and shook their heads at various other aspects of that movie. Least "Namor" and his people from Black Panther 2 used the language properly and had mostly if not all Mayan people FOR THOSE mayan people. Notice how in that Dwayne "the Rock" johnson River Cruise or river boat disney movie, they just had to have undead Spanish Conquistadors in it, but nobody indigenous enough to stand up to them except ANOTHER Immirtal/undying spaniard ( played by the ROck). Naw they just had the locals living like savages with jokes poked at them instead. APOCALYPTO SYNDROME is a thing and it suuuucks. After the tradgedy of the older Ixalans, the 30th anniversary shitstorm, and other issues, I cant take much more from MTG. Too many of once beloved frnachises we grew up with are getting ruined. Again sorry , I had to get that out. Be well yall and happy "holy" day season.
I kind of don’t like the Dino power creep. It’s literally just busted cards so every…single…deck is going to be the exact same. Just like mono black was for a while.
@@fwmlpI agree! Maybe it’s not absolutely the best deck, but does that mean I’m not gonna play with T-Rex’s? Hell no! I’m gonna cast dinosaurs for the next two years
Not point of buying packs this season. Too many cards. Even if you buy them, what do you go against in standard bo1? Monored monored monored. T3 dead. Boring state of game!!!!
