Episode 5 - Lost lives-
This is a story awhile in the making. It started with a simple grave marker under some boards and rubble. It bothered us a while so we decided to see who this person was, and being a McCoy, we knew she was linked to the infamous McCoy family in this area.
It goes to show how this kind of stuff always leads to other things, and locations. Its like a treasure hunt, but of someone's life.
Its very rewarding and we are glad we got to know Rosa and her family a little.
Cemeteries featured in this video are Fairview Cemetery in Williamson W.V, www.findagrave...

You may not be curing cancer but you are providing a very important service. At least in our region we hold our dead in reverence and not just anybody is able to go do the leg work. You folks are awesome!

Leo, I have been looking for my Great Grandparents grave for 30 years. Three years ago we found my Great Grandmother. Still looking for the Great Grandfather, they weren't buried together. I would have loved it someone would have taken the time out of their lives to list him on Find a Grave. No, your not curing cancer, but your making a change for someone life. Down the road some Grandchild might be looking for her and they will find her. Thanks!

That's great, it's not always a easy task finding your family on a tree. I found where he is buried. Just can't find anyone at that cemetery that will show me the spot. Which you know is because unlike Leo they won't take the time to research it.@@backbeatrythm8693

I really love these stories. Nobody is truly gone forever as long as someone remembers them and tells their story. What y’all do really does make a remarkable difference in the legacy of an ordinary person. And while the famous may be worth remembering, the ordinary people are too. Some are a lot more worthy of that remembrance than the famous.

You are inspiring me to go to a small cemetery in southeast Ks where my family is buried and record a video with what I know for my family and future generations. I love the memory rocks and would like to do this for my mom and her sister to put with their parents and brother. Thanks for the time you spend to remember this history.

Leo, you tickle me…from making the snow angels to almost repeating the postal service slogan. You & Heather do such a wonderful job of finding those who lived in the past so that those of us can know their stories and history. I ❤ the stones you & Heather are making. Hey Leo, here they are excavating an old Jewish colony graveside(Suriname, Joden- Savanna). And they used white powder( Baby-powder, no it's not made from baby's😂😂) to read the crumbled headstones. Maybe you can try that next time too without damaging the stone. God Bless you all❤❤.

Leo you and Heather go places that the postal service doesn’t dare🤣. I lived in Wise county Va for 30 yrs. I love this part of the country. I go through your area about every 6 weeks to see my daughter and grandchildren. I notice things that you talk about. Can’t wait to pick up a Hatfield and McCoy shirt.

Being from Huntington, I've been up and down 52 countless times myself............ good road to roll the windows down ( depending on time of year of course ) and take in the sights along the way! Leo , How horrible to cover her gravsite with trash that makes me sick nobody deserves to be treated that way regardless of what difference people might have with each other. Glad you guys found her grave , I wasn't part of the feud but like I've mentioned in the past my/our relatives were neck deep in it . I hold no grudges and don't care what happened back then but I will say of anyone hurts my family believe that ugly side of my genetics would come out need I say more .. and I'm sure most people feel that way and do anything for the one they Love more than they love their own lives . Leo I just found out I am related to Hatfield and McCoys. My Mommas family is all over in West Verginia and Kentucky, and Ohio my Granddaddy is buried in West Verginia . His name is Homer Burton. He was married to Lonnie Roe, and she later married Junior Kingsbury. They had 8 children. My Momma's name is Dovie Burton Tobey. I love all your videos I find myself crying through many of them. I love to hear the roosters crowing on your videos brings back memories of staying at mamaws and papaws for the summer.one time I went to gather eggs and they had a hen setting on her eggs but she wasn't on her nest that day and I was curious young girl so I looked into her empty nest and saw a big snake well that scared the neck out of me I ran out of the hen house left the door wide open and hollered papaw snake snake he was sitting on the front porch who knew I wasn't joking he went and got his gun and shot into the nest killed the snake which was a copper head pulled it out and showed me cause I was excited and scared all at the same time it had eggs inside it.but the good thing not one chicken got out of the hen house.loved gathering eggs but not so much after that lol.

Just an aside, Jesse James robbed the Bank of Columbia in my hometown of Columbia, Ky. They have a “Downtown Days”, which used to cumulate with a reenactment of the bank robbery. I don’t live in Kentucky anymore so I’m not sure if they still do it. Just thought it was an interesting little factoid. Y’all keep doing what you’re doing. It may not seem like it’s important in the grand scheme of things, but it is important to us that care.

I wish I could've died with my husband. But I've survided the widow maker heart attack n other hear episodes that should've killed me. I had a purpose. My Grandson was gonna really need me. So as much as I miss him I still have work to do.
