Yup. I remember renting this on betamax format back in the 80s. Soon as I saw "Roadhouse" I thought there were similarities. I think there was even a sequel to this which I found to be more action packed, been awhile so I can't remember much except it involved going up against ex soldiers.

I absolutely love how you're presenting this from a VHS source. Growing up in the 80's I went through all the formats over the decades: VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu Ray and now of course 4K. However, VHS still holds a special place for me as I miss going to our local rental store and browsing the enormous catalog of movies to rent and bring home to watch over the weekend. I didn't know that this show was a spin off of Knight Rider. Yet David Dalton was in the one episode of Knight Rider.
@KalOrtPor
@KalOrtPor 3 года назад
The connection was more properly a backdoor pilot than spin-off, although technically both, as they just picked a script to feature on Knight Rider in the hopes of launching a new series from the start vs. fashioning existing canon into its own series based on positive audience feedback and popularity.

I remember watching this and the second film, another two parter with Dalton tracking down his former military commander, along with the short iived series. I miss the 80s for studios being willing to take the chance on shows like this. NBC was throwing them out as fast as could be, trying to find an audience and hitting it big with a number of series.

The character of David Dalton (L. Charles Taylor) was first introduced in the two-part episode, “Mouth of the Snake” in season 2 of Knight Rider. Dalton was originally an action-oriented government agent. In “Code of Vengeance,” the character is reimagined as a flashback-prone Vietnam veteran who drifts across the country, encountering people in trouble, and helping them to find justice with his unique fighting skills. Although his physical agility, acrobatic skill, and martial arts expertise that Dalton displayed in “Mouth of the Snake” was toned down to a simpler, more violent, fighting style.

Not to brag, Europe they can't even make shit they copy paste from Hollywood, But I bought some movies from John Schneider and those are good movies. If you like to watch some renewed old film stuff from Smokey and the bandit or other action movies I do recommend his new made movies. @JohnSchneiderStudios.
