A closer look at some of the Lost Media Iceberg! Tweet me your own Lost Media Icebergs Twitter.com/LostMediaMike Just in case you missed it: Sections of the video are satirical, particularly the deeper levels of the iceberg.
the original footage were interesting though. According to the trailer, they successfully replicate Looney Tunes'-like elastic and expreesive characters movement in 3D animation long before Hotel Transylvania did.
In the beginning I was interested in a lot of stuff and was like "Wow, this is a well fleshed out video!" and couldn't wait to watch more, but then the deeper I got the more shit-posty it got.
Ok so I feel like you should do a video on lost media related to Gorillaz, as there are unfinished music videos, missing unfinished parts of existing music videos, missing versions of their websites and missing websites, as well as over 200 unreleased demos for Plastic Beach and evidence for an unreleased Plastic Beach 2 album
The only lost media im scared to actually be found is The Evil Farming Game, the sub reddit is already a mess within itself can't imagine if it actually gets found
@@D1NOhunter its a video game, the thing is that a lot of people came forward saying they remembered playing the game, all with pretty similar recollections of what it was like and how the game played. maybe its not so much that its lost, just that it was an obscure game that nobody really knows where to find anymore. iirc some people suggested it was a game called "trashreap" but it was confirmed to not be the game
"""""True"""""" stories. Some of them are admittedly made up, others are people misremembering things because they've been fed details and are making up the rest subconsciously. This is called "priming" and is used by cold readers as well.
@@GmNdWtchr96 Yeah I stopped thinking this as lost media trivia in more of just another guy trying to be funny for views, listen to his tone of voice, that's clearly fake excitement, That's that "OMG GUYZ, DIS IS CRAZY GUYZ, I'M TRIP'N BROS, DUDE BRO CHECK DIS OUT EETS CRAZY BRO!" kind of voice.
That's usually how these Iceberg memes go. They start with common knowledge, then slow veer off into conspiracy theories. I used the Super Mario 64 Iceberg as a template. I put a disclaimer in the video description saying that most of the lower iceberg is satirical, but I realize now that I should have put it in the video itself.
3:15 is Margaret Heafield Hamilton, the software engineer that developed the on-board flight software for the Apollo project. The actress you were looking for is Margaret Brainard Hamilton
I feel like my ancestors, the Taíno people of Puerto Rico, and other parts of the Caribbean, have a lot of lost media, such as the songs they'd play at their areítos (celebrations they'd have that contains song, dance, and history).
Do you happen to know what the Puerto Rican Taino were called? I think I've heard a name before, but it was just a Archaeologist-Given title, like Fort Ancient. But, I've been surprised before by finding out that there are people who still know things, after hundreds of years of them never being written down, so I figure it's worth a shot.
@@MrChristianDT According to this webpage I looked at, they probably would've been called the "Jatibonicu Taíno". According to that site, apparently they are the descendants of the original 24 tribal bands that had settled in Puerto Rico (likely referring to the Arawak tribes that were originally from South America, specifically the Orinoco region of the Amazon rainforest, that had settled there, since all Taínos are descended from Arawak tribes from that region, at least from what I remember). This the link to the webpage that I saw: www.taino-tribe.org/jatibonicu-flagstory.htm At first I thought they would've been called "Borikén Taínos", because Borikén is what they called the island of Puerto Rico before Spanish colonists arrived, "borikén" meaning "Land of the Valiant and Noble Lord" in their language. That webpage states that that's what that word means, and it's also shown on this webpage that comes from the same website: www.taino-tribe.org/telist-b.htm (You can see the full dictionary here: www.taino-tribe.org/tedict.html ) Also, kind of related, here are my sources on their ancestors being from Arawak tribes from the Orinoco region of the Amazon rainforest (I talked about this a bit earlier in some parenthesis and so I felt like I should show where I got that info from as well): www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/what-became-of-the-taino-73824867/ www.fjcollazo.com/documents/TanioIndRpt.htm chinosurf.com/dominican-republic-history-taino-people/ (This page talks about the history of the Taíno people of the Dominican Republic, but still, it mentions the same thing.) Also, full disclosure, I'm not that much of an expert on Taíno history or ancestry or anything like that, I just know about this stuff from what I've read on the internet, so there's a chance that I might've gotten some stuff wrong, but I'm not sure. I am very open to learning more about the Taíno people though, since they are my ancestors.
1:48 This is not remains of Library of Alexandria, this is remains of Library of Ephesus (Celsus), how do I know that ? Because its around 30 minutes far away from my house by car lol xd
Well, the Library of Celsus was directly inspired by the Library of Alexandria, so they were probably pretty similar. Seeing as nothing from the Library of Alexandria survives, using a picture of the Library of Celsus is only fair.
I found blame it on Jorge a few years ago In my recommended and I still watch him It’s so interesting finding new lost things but it would be nice to find that a thing I own is a rare lost thing
I fantasize about that too haha. Just today my grandma explained she believes either her or her close friend owned Yesterday and Today, or the "baby butcher" beatles album, which had cover art deemed too graphic for the public and was never meant to go into retail. Only a few hundred to a few thousand records exist today and can go for upwards of 70,000 dollars in mint condition.
There is a distinct lack of Canadian media in these icebergs. If you're like me, growing up in the early 2000s in Canada, you'll be familiar with all the lost YTV and Treehouse shows that were around like Land O' Hands and My Special Book. Granted they have been resurfacing as of late, but still, Canada is weird with media; Corus Entertainment is especially notorious.
Back in 2008 Cartoon Network had a promo series called Jib & Crash the HollyWood Sneaks, They were two puppets that would give sneak peeks for upcoming movies, most of the segments where found but the one for the 2008 Speed Racer movie is missing
While this video was particularly interesting, I'd like a version where the satirical parts are cut out. Don't get me wrong, the format is pretty clever, but it wouldn't hurt to see an informational version of this video
i wish that Gregory Horror Show’s lost episodes were covered more. it was apparently said to have more than 4 seasons along with shorts, but never been localized. lost media forums had JUST found the 3 shorts that came with the volumes on DVD and are currently being translated. i hope one day people can find more content about it. it’s just not covered a lot :P
My very first Minecraft world. Someone I knew over a decade ago MIGHT still have a copy of it but the chances are slim. Goodbye old friend, my first piece of lost media.
SHIT I JUST REMEMBERED WHEN U SAID DESTROYED!! the original version of hetaoni (aooni but hetalia). the original creator had so much more planned for it but then the tsunami in japan happaned and alot of progress was lost. they did have an earlier incomplete version which they then uploaded
Apparently, The authors of The Berenstain Bears (who all had the last name Berenstain) grew up with people calling them Berenstein because of many reasons Berenstain isn't as common -stein is far more common then -stain Some people believed that wasn't even their true name even when they were kids in school.
I don't know why Jorge is getting greedy & paywalling his deleted videos. I know he needs the money but why can't he just make a seprete channel and call it "DeletedByJorge" "BlameItOnJorgeUncut" or something like that. I hope you don't get to be like him & use that "JOIN" feature like everyone else is doing.
@@od3910 playing on RU-vid is not a substitute for a job. And I started working long before I graduated high school. I went to college while working 40 hours a week. RU-vid is not how you adult
sgillman16 So here is a decent proposal to your statement then. Is the entertainment industry a job? Actors, comedians, people who make games, musicians, etc. are those not jobs?
Down The Mine pilot The Down The Mine pilot is one of the most infamous lost pilot episodes This was the oficial pilot episode for Thomas The Tank Engine and was an early version of the episode "Down The Mine" hence the name Currently only small clips of the pilot have been found The Missing Coach This episode of Thomas The Tank Engine was an adaptation of the Railway Series story of the same name and was meant to be the episode that followed the episode "Breakvan" and preceded the episode "The Deputation" but it was cancelled by Britt Allcroft and footage from the episode was reused in "The Deputation" Scott Cawthon's early games Before the creation of Five Nights At Freddy's, Scott Cawthon made a large amount of games but due to criticism on his game Chipper and Son's Lumber Company due to the characters looking like animatronics he deleted 99% of his games and made FNAF 1 Spike at Your Service original draft On November 10th, 2012, the third season of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic premiered on The Hub. And with it came the episode "Spike at your Service" in which Twilight's assistant Spike becomes a servant to Applejack after she saves his life. However, in earlier drafts of the episode, it was Rarity who had saved Spike's life instead of Applejack. This version has been said by the show's writers to been an extremely different version of the final episode, with Rarity being written off as mean and unlikeable towards Spike. Because of the mean-spirited tone, the episode was rewritten to feature Applejack in place of Rarity. Outside of a couple passing mentions, nothing of the Rarity version of the episode has surfaced or been seen by the public
What happened to Food Fight is still a shame. How something like that could have even happened and what was done after is totally unknown, and I really would have loved to seen the original production.
where have you been!!!!! I've been looking for a quality youtuber that focuses on lost media for YEARS... blameitonjorge is great as was bedheadbernie when he used to make them. it makes me super happy to see someone finally making content focused on lost media!! it's like a dream come true :)
The Witch episode of Sesame Street is hardly lost. You just can't exactly see it unless you jump through an infuriating amount of hoops and make an appointment with an archive. The Toughpigs website actually had a couple representatives actually watch the thing, but they were sworn to secrecy and can't release a video online about it. That, however, doesn't mean they couldn't give a lengthy, detailed synopsis accompanied by screen shots. www.toughpigs.com/wicked-witch/
Also the picture used (in this video I'm commenting on) for Maggie is actually of Margaret Hamilton software engineer (sitting in the apollo command module date unknown, presumably sometime before 1966). Two different people both equally important buuut names the sames and that's it.
The wicked witch episode as well as Snuffy's parents get a divorce were both shown off last year during Sesame Streets 50th Anniversary in a museum if I recall. It's just never been broadcasted for mainstream. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yi1XFMCAmgo.html here's a poor recording of it
They also had private, appointment based screenings at some point after. That's why I find the term "Lost Media" way too general. There's stuff that's actually lost to history for various reasons and cannot be found ever again, and then there's the ones that the studios or others do indeed have on them, but refuse to release them. I'd say at this point, there's probably also a copyright/royalty reason Sesame can't release this one.
Holy crap, that's crazy, I had no idea! I've never seen a big channel cover this, I hope they do. Although they may wait until they contact said archive and try to find the whole thing
You should cover more lost comics, like the lost edsweorld and flumpty bumpty comic or Maybe even a big video on the immense amount of lost comics that were made using the video game gmod which includes the first Gmod comic "public health warning"
I remember hearing about JoJos Bizarre Adventure- Golden Wind having a pilot episode, but I haven't been able to find it? It may just be one of the first episodes, but i'm surprised nobody seems to know of its existence - edit: thanks to the wonderful person who replied, I have been informed that the Golden Wind pilot is just the first episode.
Cool unique idea for an iceberg topic. I hope this trend remains in good quality. I kind of wish this video didn't get too jokey or annoying by the end though, and have a lot of skipped entries.
1:26 you should do A video featuring the last unicorn remake which you can find right here on this image of showing what is the newest piece of lost media discovered
I remember some random animated Story time video it had a weird aurora off it with a creepy vibe The plot is the girl with her best friend after the end of school The main character starts hallucinating and starts realizing shes in hell and the students near her start turning into bugs and rotten corpses and start going after her and eats her
Yeah, I found out about the leak after I made the video. From what I've heard the Lost Media Wiki isn't allowed to talk about the bootlegged video due to legal reasons. So you can't find much info about it online. I even tweeted the video and had to take it down because of its legality. But it was a really cathartic experience to finally see the clip after it being lost for so long.
