I wholeheartedly agree the Goo Pikmin would make the most sense for a new Pikmin type in Pikmin 5! Imagine puzzles where you need to throw them through grates or fences. They also have a very unique look compared to all the others
if it had a second ability it would be sticking on walls that ar made so strong not even rock pikmin could damage them once on a wall it will turn into a stickier goo that both players and pikmin an walk on
I personally think its good we get two types. It would be annoying having to bring around 5 or 10 of every type around until you see a hazard they can be used for, and if its something like a glass wall for instance, it would take a long time to break. Combine this with the fact that all the original types are returning, the fact that you start with barely any pikmin and have to upgrade the onion, oachi and the fact theres traditionally 2 and I can see why they chose to not give anymore.
@@Zaniack0422 Should've been a 5 type limit. 3 isn't divisible by 100 so you can't have an equal number of each type on field. Plus 5 types was the max in every other game
I think you also have to consider that as more Pikmin are added to the game, it becomes a lot harder to add original gimmicks to them without adding ones that retread the abilities of existing pikmin. You can kind of see this with the recent new pikmin types, with rock Pikmin originally taking the place of “strong impact” Pikmin from purples and ice Pikmin taking the place of water traversal Pikmin from Blues as well as taking the stun ability from purples (Though, Pikmin 4 seems to have taken precautions so these Pikmin have decent niches so they don’t get outclassed that way they’re all still able to stay unique)
@@snowpeagaming9116 One thing they could do is make cool abilities that aren't actually required like a camouflage pikmin for example. the closest we ever got to something like that is purple pikmin who were required for little bits of the game but were for the most part just a nice thing to have around. And the purple pikmin just happened to be the most popular pikmin type from an unofficial contest. Just look at Zelda, everyone's favorite items are the boomerang and the weird chain claw thingy and not the small key which is actually required to beat the game.
I don’t exactly agree with the first point. The 3 Pikmin cap is completely pointless in caves (they literally force you to take the Pikmin they want you to use) and you can move your base around on the surface so it’s not like you can’t just switch them when ever you need more/less. It’s pointless at best and tedious at worst. While I agree that it’s good we only got 2 types, bulbmin not being present and glow Pikmin being as fickle as they are, you basically only get 8 types. I’d much prefer to have 10 of each of the 10 types, not 33.33333 of 3 types. If you find that to be annoying, that’s fine, just don’t bring every type. As for me (and many others), we should have been able to have all of them.

goo pikmin feels like the most likely candidate for a new pikmin type, give it an orange or amber coloration to match the plasm wraith and i think it'd be pretty cool! they could be used to make temporary bridges for other pikmin if you dont have the resources available or accessible, they could fit through grates that other pikmin would be too big to cross, they could even roll up into a big ball and be launched at enemies or used to slow down or even stick enemies in place!
To be fair, trying to manage 20 different pikmin types would be almost impossible. Its still cool to see old consepts being brought back with a new coat of paint. We got early rock and flying pikmin, new ghost pikmin and even the bulbear pikmin being repainted as oachi. Its cool that one way or another, new ideas always seem to come from the games "roots"
Tbh one thing that's awesome is that yes only 2 are added, but they have all Pikmins from the series too, Pikmin 3 removed white and purple from the main story, but they are back now. So we have 9 main Pikmin types (maybe bulbmin will reappear too :D) Also it continues to adding 2 new in every game
Even though some would need new gimmicks or changes, I would just love to see some kind of scenario where a separate explorer finds and utilizes these weirdo pikmin instead of the classic and previous pikmin types.
I've always wanted something like this, an idea I've had for a while is some explorer goes to PNF-404 but hits an inactive radio tower on the way, so they crash and have to get help from 6 new Pikmin types, all of which embody something that other Pikmin can't do while also having something to replace them. Since it would take place in a much different environment, the Pikmin would be more like things you could find in a city, like a Potted Pikmin

Maybe farming for the green bean pikmin could mean in future games it could automatically pluck pikmin out of the ground for you, maybe waiting for them to match the flower state they're in? Could be interesting and useful to be going around doing things and having these guys getting your pikmin ready
Because we already have Glow Pikmin, I turned the Greenbean Pikmin orange which is the only missing color, gave it longer arms, a spear-shaped leaf and purple eyes. You can use the Orange Pikmin in combat by throwing them normally, or throwing them like a spear by holding another button. If you use the spear attack on a dead enemy, they will infect it, it will drop half of its carry weight in Pikmin (half amounts will be rounded up)
Glow Pikmin likely took the “parasitic nature” from the greenbean pikmin, judging by how they’re a lime green color similar to the map dots for bulbmin. Still, the spear could open up a lot of possibilities tho. For example, it could insta-kill small, soft-bodied enemies, and stay stuck inside bigger ones causing them to deal minor damage over time (in addition to being resistant to getting shaken off). On the downside however, these Pikmin could be useless against enemies with tougher skin or exoskeletons, being unable to damage them with their spears. This could make them a glass cannon, being extremely strong to deal with minor baddies but quite weak against tougher ones.
The goo pikmin could be like related to the wraith enemies, and they can like change between goo and solid maybe? Perhaps they can even adapt to each element somehow like plasm wraith

instead of having a jillion kinds of Pikmin, I think it’d be cool if you could upgrade your individual Pikmin somehow… like Blues into Ice, Yellows into Glows, Purples into Rocks, etc 🤷🏻♂️
@@davifernandopereiraborges5168 - I’ve only played the demo of _Pikmin 4_ so far… is that how the flower things work in this game? in past games it just changed one Pikmin to another, usually as part of a puzzle, and not part of an upgrade system.
About the game play. You can move while charging the dash, which lets you get past the conveyor belts with ease. It's also great for fights whe timing the eight moment to strike.
I feel that it’s fine that only 2 pikmin were added to the 4th game. It’s the same for every pikmin game, and you still get Oatchi, which makes it like 3 pikmin added.
I think the capapace Pikmin can be reworked into some kind of mushroom Pikmin, they can't latch onto enemies but they can burrow in the ground to release spores that confuse big enemies and cause small creatures to go crazy and uncontrollably attack other enemies, they could also be immune to poison
I think it would be cool if the Goo pikmin and the fire ghost pikmin were merged into a Lava Pikmin! It could be a counterpart to red pikmin in the same way ice pikmin and blue pikmin work well together! The whole bridge repair thing could be the Lava Pikmin solidifying and cooling down to make a bridge! It could also be a pikmin that does mediocre damage, but it sticks to enemies so well that it can't be shaken off! It could also be immune to fire, but deal no damage to fire creatures, instead maybe getting "charged up" when inside fire to deal more damage to other enemies!
the thing to note about the Parasitic Pikmin is that they lose control of the Bulborbs they inhabit once it reaches about half the size of a normal Bulborb, meaning what Greens would be able to puppeteer is limited to enemies of the "tiny" size category, with their ability's effect against larger foes only being to halt their movements at best, and that requiring infestation with multiple Pikmin. single Green Pikmin would do basically nothing to larger foes, and thus it'd be far less broken than your assumption. also, it would be limited to only enemies that actually *consume* Pikmin, rather than smashing, burning, drowning, freezing, or just filling them full of lead.
Green bean/dark green taking over MACHINE pikmin: slender, dark green and yellow eyed Pikmin, that are most closely related to purples and whites. This type is only found when retrieving them from a Bulbmin, after climbing out of their companion, the Bulbmin well just casually walk away while you get your new pikmin type, they have two really useful abilities, they can form bridges for Pikmin to take shortcuts for building, this can also be used to get to places your captain can’t get to without Oatchi allowing you to multitask more effectively. Now on to the big thing, when an enemy is defeated, charge your green bean boys, and they will crawl inside to take over the corpse. Only able to take over certain creatures (sadly no Wollymin because they do not have an orifice for them to crawl inside) The biggest they can take over is the emperor bulblax with 100 of them. This can help you through puzzles and act as an absolute unit with dealing with enemies. The downsides is that the corpse will evaporate after they leave it. they only do 0.5 damage and you can only get them through Bulbmin as they do not have an onion because the Bulbmin is their onion. (Just my idea for the green bean boy)
I think there's going to be another pikmin type in 4 that they've kept secret. Glow Pikmin are so divorced from the normal gameplay loop that I think there is genuinely room for another type in the normal story. Or maybe Bulbmin make a return in greater force...
Tiny pikmin are cool, what about instead of being many there is a type that splits into many tiny pikmin when damaged (and reform after being out of danger for a bit). They can keep wallwalk/stickyness. Maybe they are also so small certain large enemies ignore them.
To be fair so far the long waiting times between the games have been a good influence on the games imagine they would make a new pikmin game like they would make new pokemon games every other year, it would probably ruin the series
My favourites are the Carapace pikmin. In my w.i.p. Pikmin 2 romhack the carapace pikmin are 1 of 2 new types. They are immune to explosions & can be thrown further. They are also the only pikmin to be able to take down explosive walls without killing themselves in the process.
I think the goo pikmin, if they might be included in Pikmin 5, should actually inherit the parasitic ability the long green pikmin have. In most cases like swarming and charging, they'd act like any normal pikmin, dealing half the normal pikmin damage like whites, flying and ice, BUT, if thrown on the backs of dwarf bulborb creatures, it sinks into their backside, stem changing to fit the color of the bulborb/bulbear, shrinks them down, and turns them into bulbmin! Increasing their attack power, giving them immunities, but at the cost of not being able to take them with you at the end of the day.
My idea for the goo pikmin was a sort of acid or water pikmin- so it could sink through walls and such or burn metal to make entrances for the acid idea!
God I hope so, so many games try to sell more by showing off everything new in the trailers and stuff, like fighting games showing every single character before it comes out. I miss finding new stuff and secret things in my games XD

I would love a longed arm pikmin, it would have long arms that let it reach/attack objects from a longer distance. It might make use for a special wall thats like the gates in pikimin 4 but it is smaller and only the long pikmins arms can go through and it might beable to hit an enemy or hit a button. I feel like a good color choice is a dark red it just kinda seems suiting, it might be small, like the small pink pikmin listed in this video.
The parasitic pikmin could simply be a thing that only affects the bulbug family of creatures. Like a disease that can't spread to another species due to how it affects them. That would mean several new types of bulbmin but that would also be less game defining.
We should 100% see orange pikmin as the secondary pikmin type in this game. In the pikmin 1 ending, we see many colored onions. All of those onion colors have now gotten pikmin types to correspond with except with orange. Because the glow pikmin are seen as in a gray area like the bulbmin and puff in are, another “regular type” to counterpart the ice pikmin would make a lot of sense.
I think its a little to late for that, unlike most side pikmin types, glow pikmin seem to be more mainstream and are advertised. The glow pikmin also seem to play an important role in the story, since night mode will probably be required to beat the story. You can also keep glow pikmin (the amount you keep depends on the amount that survives), which is very different from other side types. I think nintendo is considering glow pikmin as the secondary pikmin type here, if there was an orange pikmin we would have seen it a lot earlier!
@davicl3s548 honestly 4 is extremely vague as to what the heck Glows even are They're seemingly literal ghosts that somehow can still reproduce and grow, and are able to "die" in some sense of the word
i can see the slime pikmin being flammable and not taking damage from it, and they become little balls of fire if they encounter a fire hazard for a brief time

pikmin 2 and 3 had only two, well three in pikmin 2 if you count bulbmin, I like ideas for pikmin 4, because a long wait and only having two new typs is crazy but it does make sense because in pikmin4 we have red, yellow, blue, white, purple, rock, and wing/pink that might make sense why we only get two new types, p.s if you want to know rock and wing will have a onion idk if purple and white will have one.
Hey, I have Auditory Processing Disorder, and the the sound mixing in your videos is a little tough for me to process. The background music overpowers your voice and it's hard to discern what you're saying. Would it be possible to amend this in future videos?
I kind of wish blue pikmin had the slime pikmin's amorphous qualities. Water flows through grates, so it isnt a huge stretch to give blues the vaporeon "made up of water molecules etc etc' write off Plus it could buff them a little more too! Though they seemed quite good in pikmin 4, what with the surplus of water!

They really just slap a dumb ole leaf on random crap and call it a pikmin, a plant blob? Ghost plants? The original three look differently but similar that they seemed realistically the same species, even white and purple looked similar to be in the pikmin family, pikmin are dont fit in at all, and pikmin 4 has the two worse I’ve ever seen yet, im glad all of these were scraped 😊
Pikmin don’t have to all be the same or else it will be boring and repetitive no one was just a recolored Pikmin and if you don’t like the Pikmin don’t play the game
