Welcome to a brand new seies from QAM. over the next 9 weeks we will share with you our hunt for mining history that spanned over 5 days during the winter of 2023. The mines we expored on these first 4 days were monster Silver and Lead lode mines. The mines featured in todays episode were mined accross 18 seperate lodes that spanned over 500 metres!
We hope you enjoy our winter QAM 2024 (filmed 2023) new series!

Sorry I missed the premiere and live chat, was out getting the Driveway to our house ready for Fall/Winter. It's a long driveway and we live on the side of a butte ( hill ) Fall/Winter season starts here on this coming Tuesday here in the States. But enough about me. On with the show 🍿🎉 Edit; You had better look out, that spider looked large enough to hold that torch and light your azz up mate, a second time, or would that make the third, fourth, eighth, tenth, twentyish time. ... 😄😆😉 lol. I think you are having way too much fun mates, but I love it. ... Awesome explore, great artifacts, cool adits, that shaft sounded deep. The scariest/deepest here for me was so deep; I accidently dropped my light (torch) into it and the light from it disappeared into the darkness before it hit bottom. It was a high lumens torch... got chased out of an adit by a black bear trying to recover it. It was time to buy a new one as far as I was concerned, eh. Take care, stay safe Y'all, thanks Eb... Cheers mate. 🥃 Till the next! ⛏⚒⛏ ~Pete, a.k.a Jekyll the Hyde @OGRocker1

@@OGRocker1 Cheers OG ♥️ hope all is going well for the seasons preparation. I don't know how we would go in bear country. Buck persuades me to go first on most shaft rappels and I'm secretly saving these turns up for when we do indeed face a bear. To me that sounds fair 😂😂 Regards. Eb.

@@TheSilmarillian Cheers ledge! Thanks for supporting our adventures. We wanted to double down on the danger messaging as we had a lot of fun on this day, but didn't want it to translate to anyone thinking we were not exposing ourself to hazardous environments. The stuff we find (and didn't see) in the lower drive was no joke. That's coming up in the next few weeks. Eb. QAM.

Hey, just found your channel and its just what I've been looking for. There's quite a few US mine exploration channels like Ghost town living, but i hadn't seen anything closer to home. Awesome explorations, would love to do some exploring like this someday (safely of course), maybe when I'm a bit older. Cheers for the vids guys

@@FinnKirk-d2d Thanks for tuning in Finn! As far as Australian mine explorers go, there are not too many of us. There is an established crew in Victoria that have been exploring old workings since the early 2000s and I'm not aware of any others. The Vicco guys are called "The Victorian Historical Mine Shaft Chasers" and they have a great Facebook page. If your ever tempted to head underground, it's essential to take a shop calibrated 4 gas meter and go with somebody experienced in the dangers old mines present. We use BW Quattros for our air quality monitoring. The meters need to be bump tested and calibrated on regular intervals or mines can be a silent killer. Stay safe mate Ebenezer. QAM.

Australia doesn't have jungle
@qldabandonedmines
@qldabandonedmines Месяц назад
@@PeterThompson-k1f I disagree, we have pushed through jungle so thick, a machete is close to useless. These can be seen in our older "valley of lost mines" series a few years back. They were shot in tropical North Queensland. When I was editing this episode, I did feel the "jungle" call was a bit odd. It was more of an enchanted forest. Cheers. Eb.

beg to differ señor... there is/was the ADF's Jungle Warfare Training School at Tully North Queensland... where personnel trained for combat in Vietnam during Australia's involvement with that war... BTW jungle is categorized as primary and secondary...
@buckchancey
@buckchancey 27 дней назад
@@chrisbinckes2732 we actually explored a number of the largest karst caves in Vietnam (in the world at the time), before the QAM channel started. The jungle there is worse than here, but this is offset by the number of isolated villagers selling rice wine to improve morale.

Rosewood had a few coal mine shafts portals id play in as a kid not sure if they are there but some i know are filled in but the timbers were still in place. still have a interest in mines have a friend that tells me he knows were some old gold mines are in the sunshine coast hinterland.
@qldabandonedmines
@qldabandonedmines 28 дней назад
@@bee17167 Most coal mine adits and open shafts get bulldozed pretty quick by the DME. Even if they don't, they normally collapse very easily due to the fragile geology/stratigraphy. A lot of coal mines are seams wedged between shale and sedimentary layers so it does not take much for them to completely fail once flooded & abandoned. I think we briefly looked into the Sunny coast Gold mines, but the good ones were on freehold lots. Thanks for tuning in mate. If you ever get back to exploring them, stay safe! Eb.

I reckon the old rosewood colliery has some topside stuff still there, but I believe it's private property.
