A brief overview of the lost Nocturne alpha/tech demo/prototype that we've only seen bits and pieces of. It's a really interesting look into the very early development of the game, and hopefully someday we'll be able to actually play it.

Sadly it's just a touched up port of SMT Nocturne Chronicles edition. I have no idea which version of Nocturne South Korea and Chinese versions of Nocturne however, so they might just get the original version of Nocturne without Dante or Raidou. Rip

@Kerry Howard I think the Chinese version is exclusively for the Taiwanese only, since the Mainland just banned the whole series due to some "religious" reasons

@@dantemustdie00 That'll be dope. By the way Hirohiko Araki totally 100% percent for reals ripped of Sid Davis when he made Pucci from JoJo Part 6. Sid's final buff form being how Pucci would've look in in the first 3 parts. Totally for real.

Amaterasu's design looks pretty cool in this one. I wish they would reuse this in SMT V either as her actual look or as a costume for the protag or someone similar.

I always found Amaterasu's design really disappointing in Nocturne. It's even more disappointing knowing that they had a much better looking one in an early tech demo.

I feel like the generic giant demon model is definately would they used for Surt's model ultimately....which could possibly mean that's what Surt's idle stance would look like if he was standing for once. But yeah I would like it if they could add more demons into the HD remaster like Anat (they can use her completed model from NINE and IMAGINE), and Female Amaterasu since they for some odd reason made Ammy a male here.

Nine had some good 3D demons that just got stuck there for a long time, like the female Amy you said and Anat, and of the top of my head Izanami, Moloch, Maria for the longest time till Strange Journey Redux and P5R and Swoledabaoth who is too good of a design to just be once and never again.

That's a good idea but sadly there's really not a whole lot to work with. The Persona 3 beta and the Nocturne tech demo are the only two that immediately come to mind but Atlus is generally pretty secretive about unfinished builds of their games.

i really love how the beta menu looks, it sorta vaguely reminds me of SMT 9 from how the game seems more dream like with the mist, very high exposure environments that are more pleasant, and how the battle has more zoomed out camera over the demons. Looks like it could have the pacing of SMT Nine also from how slow the movement seems like.

I’m rather confused as to why they didn’t just use the Nocturne Alpha design of Amaterasu and instead just make her final model into a palette swap. Seems rather wasted extra work to me.

Amaterasu first appeared in SMT II and had a different design. vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/8/8b/Amateratsu.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080806033633 This design has also been used pretty much every time she's appeared in a Megaten game, except for Nocturne and of course P4.

iv and apocalypse are more beginner friendly than the others, so i'd say start there. Nocturne's kinda brutal and you might as well wait for the remake now; and smt 1 and 2 are a much older system so they're a bit janky and also a bit hard to get your hands on.

I hate how lost media refers to shit that was never ment to be seen by the public anyway. A beta of a ps2 game is not ment to be seen by consumers so in a sense it isn't lost it was just never ment to be fully seen in the first place. Imagine if it was your unfinished work that got leaked, you as an artist u do not want anyone to see your unpolished work, it's a fucking sin to you for someone to do that.

Bruh it’s not a sin to be sent to the 9th circle of hell for, it’s a literal tech demo being looked at in this video. Sure there’s an argument to be made wether or not it’s a piece of lost media, but you don’t have to be so fucking mad about this. (what did I expect out of a person who makes Jojo memes anyways)
