This is my first watch, but it’s probably up there with my favorite episodes of Back Issues already. There’s just a little bit of extra magic to this one, when Ben and Ethan were as invested as Sal was in their own ways, and it’s the quintessential common ground of nerddom that is Star Wars.
What is with Tattooine being such a hot spot for intergalactic visitors? I know a lot of people pivotal to the plot go there, but why? There's almost nothing there. Just two suns and sand. And all that sand, man. I don't like it. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
Jizz, strangely enough, is what ol' George decided to name that weird music that plays in the cantina in Episode IV. Anyway, not a fan of the Stellar Battles. So, live long and prosper :P
I had the Shadows of the Empire Micro Machines Action Fleet set when I was little. Was always so interested in this but never read the comic, book, or played the game haha, but boy the memories with those little toys!
On my umpteenth rewatch and have to leave a comment about how much I love Sal's Emperor Palpy Hope we see more Star Wars books on here when that next movie comes out!
Think I've read literally every Dark Horse Star Wars comic so bummed to see them end their runs. Awesome guys happy Star Wars weekend going to see it on Sunday for my birthday.
I'm definitely more a Trekkie...but this was my shit as a kid. ALL OF IT! Even had the Audiobook on Cassette(s). And as a Redhead, it was nice to have a boy representative, Dash, in the Star Wars universe that wasn't that stone cold Mara Jade. I never had all the comics, so I'm stoked.
Sal I like how some thing that i came to look forward during this show is in the background the selves how almost every episode there in different places idk y like i'm thinking were's that cap statue going to be next or the saga comic or the dark knight returns statue etc lol.
There are a number of characters from Shadows of the Empire used in the old Galactic Battlegrounds PC game including a playable Outrider and Dash Rendar.
you know, whats the story behind dark horse cause those star wars comics were drawn beautifully and had some killer stories. we all know the story of image so well because of its influence in the 90s for creator control but where and how did dark horse come about, a possible elseworlds if you ever see this sal
Shadows of the Empire. It did happen, I saw it happen, don't tell me it didn't happen!!! Just like General Grievous coughs because Mace Windu crushed his chest plate!!
You can play as Dash Rendar and drive the Outrider around in the Galactic Battlegrounds CD Rom game. If you choose you can make your own scenario with the Star Warriors vs Boba Fett, Jabba and minions and set them against each other.. and listen to everybody's dialogue!!
Shadows of the Empire Vader is kind of weird and cartoony, but still recognizably Vader. He's how Vader would be written as in an hypothetical early 90's animated series, as voiced by Tim Curry.
You guys are blowing my mind..! There are gaps between Empire and Return..? Empire ends with Han being taken away and Return starts with the rescue, so I thought they were together like the Matrix 2 & 3. And looks like I'm also going to have to google "Steam Shovel" too, cos I've never even heard of that.!
+Batfreeze Vader. Dude looks like a badass and walks around like a badass. Fought Luke on Bespin with one hand without even trying. Walks everywhere because running is for underlings. Alters the deal whenever he wants because that's what badasses do. Also a decisive leader who replaces under-performing minions without hesitation.
I noticed you reference Dark Empire as a "great comic." I don't agree with you, but I would love love LOVE to see you do an episode on Dark Empire, because in my opinion it is 90's comics to the extreme, and your 90's episodes are the best.
I've heard rumors that one of the next Star Wars films will be a Heist movie that features Fett. Do you think the heist will be stealing Han from Bobba Fett?
hey sai i just saw the new star wars movie and i loved it i have a challenge for you because i know you saw it what was your favorite part without spoiling it for someone how has not seen in the the chat below.
+parker frazier Excellent question; I'll need to think about it. In the meantime, you might wanna see my quick Star Wars reaction video. I don't say a favorite part, but I probably get as close as possible to one.
