I'm a practioner of Brazilian jujitsu and judo and i really want to say that , Brazilian jiu-jitsu should pay homage and respect to judo and it's founder.
Ganseki Otoshi is different from Korean Seoi (where u grab with both hand just one lapel), u cross your arms in order to grab both lapels. On the ground you can continue with Kata Juji Jime. I Agree with you that IJF must explain their moves, cause Judo is for all not just their propriety. Thanks again for all.
Good afternoon, Chadi and everybody. I thank you very much one more time for sharing this outstanding introduction to this great Judo and Goshinjutsu Master. Best wishes and blessings from Spain.
Great post Chadi!!!! Thanks for sharing. I used to have the other video of him practicing Kata. It was great. First time seeing these videos when he was 9th Dan.
Uchi komi is key to developing kuzushi and kuzushi is the key to developing judo. This is how old school early Judoka could train into old age with no severe injury. Over competitiveness leads to severe injuries and more dependency upon brute strength. ♣🥋
Wow, excellent, I didn't believe that there was a video of young Mifune and now here it is! Where did you find it? Is there something like a repository of old japanese footage (like the National Diet Library is for books)? Years ago I decided to learn judo after seeing that other video of his called "The Essence of Judo". What's more, at the end of this video (22:50), we can see him sparring with a wrestler and he makes the same slick avoidance of throws that he as doing at the other video, bit since he was older we believed that they younger guys were letting him easy. So, it turns out it's something he was doing at an earlier age, and not an unrealistic avoidance for the cameras. Maybe we can learn it too...? Thank you Chadi!
Hi Chadi, is it possible for you to do a video on Darcelito Yandzi? I really love his footwork and setups. Maybe you can touch on those aspects of his judo and how we can use them in our judo
maybe indeed it is safety reason, but I already gave up on how many techniques IJF decided to ban, Judo now is so unrecognizable from the Judo I did 30 yrs ago
Tama guruma is not a sutemi, because by definition sutemi means sacrifice and here he is not sacrificing his position like in a real sutemi waza. This explained well in nage no kata. Once you do nage no kata you would understand.
There’s so many secrets to discover, guess all the secrets are best kept in the books where few will read. I’m not physically gifted but some of the moves were fun to try out. I remember doing a “German suplex” and switching midair into hane goshi. It works! I forgot where I read that but it was in the books.
