Its the end of 2023... while PS5 and Xbox players complain about imperceptible frame drops in their 4k 120fps boring as hell games, this masterpiece still shows what makes a world actually immersive and a game actually fun. Miss those times.
how amazed i was by this game... i felt like i was able to live in that world, on that mistyrious island. I was blown away by the graphics, ability to drive a car, a boat and those boss battles... I know it sounds stupid, but for me at that time this game gave something similar to todays Skyrim.
I don't remember this game at all. Surprising since I had the other 2 JP games. I had to look it up to see if it was actually a Sega CD game. It looks really good.
@@ryanbonner25 Yeah it was a late release on Genesis, so not really ahead of its time at all. It did really utilize the hardware though, more than most games on the system.
After coming from the SNES version, i have to say i had NO IDEA how good this SEGA version is. drivable cars, trucks, hovercraft first person motorcycle stage NPCs that exist, and can follow you even a 100kph log raft ride. well done, game studio, well done.
When I first bought the game, I was disappointed when I first played it, because it was a big departure from the previous two Jurassic Park game. I didn't like the change of perspective, from a sidescroller to an RPG-type perspective. But then I played it completely, and I can say I had more fun playing it than the first two. Mainly because I was able to actually complete this one, because, thankfully, it had a system of passwords for each level you completed, that allowed you to start from where you left of if you enter the password for that level, instead of having to complete the game in one sitting, like the previous two. Those mini games is what made this game. I was genuinely shocked at how the developers managed to pack 3D levels into a Sega game. The game was definitely pushing the limits of the console.
this is arguably the best genesis game ever made. the soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is very much enjoyable, the AI is superb, the ability for an amazing coop play, and damn... even the VS mode with a civilwar code. so much wow!!
Man, I have so many memories of this game. The open world. The awesome music. The way that stupid car handled xD And there was really a sense of accomplishment unlocking each new password. Thanks for the trip back in time mate.
This game fancinated me as a kid, it came out so late for the Genesis yet the gameplay felt like an evolution when compared to prior games on the system.
Ah i returned today to this game. Back in the days graphics was brilliant. Still hard to imagine how they managed to make such a good game also with that 3d missions
Sega Channel introduced me to this game, remembered driving cars around and whatnot. Saw someone playing the other Sega JP game on Twitch the other day and it reminded me of this one and the fun I had. Thanks for posting!
Eu joguei este game diretamente no Mega Drive há 20 anos atrás. Curtia muito com amigos, pois dá pra 2 jogadores e era muito legal dirigir o carro enquanto o outro dava cobertura e suporte armado. Bons tempos! Obs.: Eu tenho shaders ou filtros gráficos pra RetroArch.
This is such a brutal game. Soooooo much territory! I thought Jurassic Park for the NES had a lot of land to cover, this is 10 times that. It took me about 3 hours to find all the sensors.
Always regret selling my Mega Drive and Super NES to get a Saturn and PlayStation. Soon realised there was still plenty of games to be had on 16 bit conoles. Didn't realise the Mega Drive had something like 900 games released for it, yet Europe only got something like 250 of them. This and plenty of other games I didn't get to play. High prices for old games are the main reason why I've never gone back to the 16 bit era.
I had The Lost World on PS1. I don't know if you played that, it was really beautiful and you played as Compy, T Rex and people over various levels. Gorgeous game graphics wise, and actually faithful to the film in design, but ridiculously hard and not as fun as this on the whole. I only played this for the first time the other day but couldn't believe how good it looked compared to other Sega games!
@@timothycurtis4744 bro!! The lost world on PS1 was hard as nails too. That Compy segment fucked with me, I could never get past the Carnotaurus. The Raptor level had some of the coolest pixel deaths, the guys would scream and yell and moan while the Raptor clawed, bit, and ate them. And the Rex levels… some of the best parts of the game, but hardest as well. I didn’t care much for the Hunter levels sadly, the Dino levels were the meat and potatoes.
Ps1 Lost World is very hard, but i have played it so much it comes easy for me now. This game had fun moments and graphics were very good for sega but i never cared for the overhead camera views.
Some types: 1 - You must use not letal weapons in order to get more itens (a parashoes with a box apears from the sky) 2 - (not sure) the smoke gas bomb can be used against flames.
... MAGICBOX ... 😏 also bonus: taking dinos out with the dart gun or stun gun ticks your supply counter up (the Jurassic park icon on the top right side of the screen) which can be used for resupplying.
toy story do genesis colocou 101 cores em tela,o genesis ultrapassou as 64 cores nos primeiros jogos lançados,64 cores era apenas uma teoria que na época a SEGA achava que o console só aguentava essa quantidade,mas com o tempo descobriu-se que poderiam colocar bem mais cores em tela.

They're still sprites. But clever math scaling and rotating them gave the illusion of depth. One of those levels remind me 3D Death Chase for the 48K ZX Spectrum.
What a torture it was to have a broken cartridge with this game which I somehow managed to load only once of a thousand times and it lasted until helicopter landing 😅
Miles better than the crappy SNES ver imo! This is a classic, I played this when the mega drive was still new, American version I grew up on that hahahaha 😂🤣😂
Me and my bro played this in Taiwan from ages 6-10. Crazy. We only got to where you were at about 2 hours 10 minutes in. Got to see the ending, finally

Obviously fantastic graphics, but amazing music as well! Sad I never got to play it when I was a kid and could actually dive into and swim in the immersion (I LOVED Jurassic Park 1 and 2 as a kid...) but I do boot up retroarch every so often to play Neo Geo games and always somehow find myself ending my sessions with this game emulated through PicoDrive. It controls well with a fightstick btw, feels like a proper 1990 arcade game. In fact I think I'm gonna go pick up my save right now...
I remember being terrible at this game because I insisted on only using the tranquiliser gun. I didn't want to kill any of the dinos. Actually, does that make me bad at the game or is it impressive I made it as far as I did?
Various missions. Various dinosaurs. Various vehicles 2 use. This "Jurassic Park" really push its limit but I'm still curious about 1 thing. Is it true that the 1-Player character is "Tembo" & the 2-Player character is "Malcolm"?.. 😶

Game looks good. Why couldn't this be the SNES game. Instead we got this hybrid top down first person interior crap... This one here, now that plays like a action game everyone wants.
