Streamdeck user here. I gotta say, I never heard of the Loupedeck and it seems to be a valid competitor. From the video it feels more responsive and definitely has features such as dials and differentiation between hold and press that the streamdeck lacks. Thanks for this, Mike! Definitely worth considering.
Recently picked one of these up for its functional features and will definitely expand its use ability to help with this games complexity. This is a great use idea for this device!
Hey this is very helpful Thank you! I installed your profile from the market place and it is very well setup! What did you link the profile to make it stay up and running? I linked it to RSI Launcher, and the Starcitizen.exe and the buttons will not stay up for me unless I alt tab back to the other screen? I see yours just says "starcitizen default" any help? thanks!!@@SaltEMike
@@SaltEMike could use a little advice buddy I got the loupedeck live and I'm trying to install the star citizen file but I'm getting a constant error and unable to install
I made a button control panel bolted to my desk with the help of an Arduino Microcontroller. I Agree with Mike, Keyboard isnt as immersive. And im planning to make another one. But a ready made device is probably a very good option
I use a Logitech G13 instead of keyboard, along with an Extreme 3D Pro joystick and GameGlass on an iPad Mini 2. All three of those are completely customizable so that I don't have to remember new keybinds. I just adjust them when the game changes, and the "request landing" button or the "open all external doors" button remain the same. I have three different layouts on my G13, depending on what I'm doing (on foot / flying / mining/salvage), and I keep common buttons (like MobiGlass, or my AI assistant) at the same spots on each. Took a bit to setup (as I imagine this product does), but it works great.
Competition in the market place is a good thing, I do like the buttons combined with the number of keys. I have to use a streamdeck and streamdeck+ together to obtain similar functionality.
Hope to see the changes you recommended be implemented. 2 minutes in and I was already hoping to see that dial be used for mining. Are there community forums?
I'm a professional video editor and I've been using my Loupedeck CT for years now and I love it for my work. Saw your video using the LD LIve and now I'll be programming my LD CT for Star Citizen. I love the functionality of this product and have been singing its praises for years to others in the video/film industry now hopefully I can do the same for my SC crew. Full disclosure. This is a very expensive product and I only recommend it (the CT) for professionals but the Live might be a better price point for gamers/streamers.
You can get a small pads with various number of keys that connect VIA USB. i've got a 12 key pad mounted just in front of my throttle like your Loupdeck is. much cheaper option.
And it's worth the 50% higher price compared to the stream deck how? Just for the dials? It doesn't have enough buttons to replace my x56 throttle console unless I want to go in and out of several menues all the time.
I actually like the look of this and will seriously consider it once I have upgraded other stuff like my desk, flight sticks and PC. Hope its more responsive than game glass 😂
I think this product could save a lot of space on my desk and replace my virpil control panel. The desk mount is also good. Can I find it with the on the store or it's a custom one? Thanks for the tips.
Wow.. I hadnt considered the advantages of the Loupedeck over the streamdeck (which I have); I think I owe to myself to live a little and try one out... (cheaper than a visit to the pledge store :) )
A keyboard is better and everyone already has one. HOSAS is a much better investment. There are also much better button boxes if 60 something buttons on HOSAS and another hundredish on a keyboard isn’t enough.
You must have a very good memory because I have to disagree if you don't want to spend a lot the Razer Stream Controller is a good alt for a lot less money. But having visual representation is way better then remember what 60 different keys do.
Hi Mike, I have a loupedeck live now for a few months for SC and MSFS. It's working fine in MSFS but in SC I got it working a few days on PTU but since nothing is going trough, even a simple T or U I see the overlay of loupedeck but nothing in SC... any clue? I will look for you profile and keybinds and hope that there is a small tweak I missed...
@@SaltEMike first of all, I need to thank you! As I could not find anyone else on Star citizen using Loupedeck, I could not know if it came from me or from SC… Thanks to you that was solved and I have been able to solve the issue. I’m running SC as administrator for better performance with some other tweaks but Loupedeck software was not. Once I did run the Loupedeck software as administrator too, it worked! 1 year to find that out…! But I never thought this could be an issue Have a nice day and many many thanks for your SC content even if sometimes I find you have 1 grain of salt to much 😜 You rock man!
@@mortenhumble6063 in fact, I don’t because I play at home, yes but also at work (I know it’s weird…) so I need to take it every day with me. Otherwise I was planning to download or create some 3D models and print it out but nothing has been decided yet
If you don't have a numpad, you bought the wrong keyboard. Full stop. If you buy an incomplete keyboard, you can't Surprised Pikachu when a piece of software has bindings it expects to be there.
are the dials analog or digital inputs? Debated getting one of these a while back but as far as im aware theyre analog and wont give me the smooth control of my mining laser that im looking for I currently use a standalone custom dial but would love if these ended up swapping to/having the option for digital inputs on the dials so i could condense my streamdeck and dial into just a single device
Ah nevermind, you mention it later in the video, such a bummer theyre not smooth potentiometers, its such a nice Quality of Life improvement for mining to have a nice clean and smooth transition of power
@@rahfeeki8540 I was hoping the same. And that the dials could be mapped to DX-Axis. I'm also using a potentiometer and it has the feeling of on "80s amplifier" (some kind of resistence). I think it is smoother than using the mouse wheel step like control for mining.
