Well folks, I hope you stay with me, but this was a pretty crazy story to follow. As I prepared for a completely different show I went down the rabbit hole of a Crossover Event on TV that I would have watched AND Loved in 1980. However, since you can't see it now as it was shown, it leaves some questions. I Want to see the LB episode as it was originally played with Loni Anderson and led right into FI, but alas, I have not found away. Please share this one.....IT IS GOOD. Thanks for watching.

@@GENXPERIENCE I remember these types of multipart cross over events seemed kinda common around sweeps weeks back then. Mostly the episodes were duds, but 'exciting' because of crossover.
Yep it happened. I remember the "shock" that Loni hadn't found love on the love boat. Only villains don't find their soul mate on the Love boat so this was bold. But of course she went to Fantasy Island cause they have MAGIC.
You are right about the "villains", but yeah, to see someone leave unhappy only to find it on FI would have been great. Of course I don't remember seeing it in 80, I was barely 7, but I would love to see that original ending.
I feel like I had to have seen it in 1980, as well. I watched religiously, but not being able to see that Love Boat Episode today is crazy as the FI episode starts right after. But as I mention, I suppose they don't want to show someone leaving the ship unhappy.
That is awesome. I may have seen it in 80, but the original does not play in Syndication so you can't see that 90 minute sad ending into FI. YOu can see the FI that takes place minutes after the LOve Boat ends, but now it doesn't connect. But it would have been cool.
Great video, this was a wild ride. I definitely remember the crossover but not any of the details and certainly not the 30 minute Fantasy Island that preceded Love Boat.
Thank you. It shocked me as this was NOT my original show, but got deeper and deeper. I only wish you could both see Possessed, AND watch the Love Boat how it was seen that night to make sense of the following Fantasy Island.

I don't remember these episodes. About the only time I watched The Love Boat and Fantasy Island was when I was spending the night at my grandmother's house.
Must have been a favorite of Grandmoms. Until I could start going out with friends, I would hunker down for these. Usually fall asleep during FI, though.
Spelling did the same thing in 5th season of Charlies Angels. Was a 3 hour extravaganza with connecting scenes in between that never aired again. In syndication became a two parter and an unrelated one-off episode.
Interesting. I had known about the Charlies Angels Love Boat cross over that introduced the new Angel, and I still see it today, but I am totally interested in what you speak of here. Must investigate.
@@GENXPERIENCE It was 5th season intro for Tanya Roberts and the relocation of show to Hawaii. The 3 hour episode was originally called "Street Models and Hawaiian Angels" but in syndication they are Angel in Hiding( Parts I and II) and To See An Angel Die. Gary Frank from Family connected the two plots together with him pretending to be a telephone repair man or something at their LA office and who just happens to live in Hawaii with his vengeful family where the Angels just happen to be heading to next and then calamity ensues. Plus Jane Wyman is a psychic.
And I'm not sure what the syndicated episode is called but Possessed was put in syndication. Originally it was a one story, half hour episode. Only one guest because it was such a dangerous situation! But I remember seeing it in syndication and laughing because suddenly there was a second story. I thought, well, guess it wasnt as dangerous as they thought.
Possessed was listed as part of the Love Doctor/Pleasure Palace Syndicated episode but was not in it....or at least it is not when you see it today. You are right about the 30 minute version being the only story, and I hard they did play once with Pleasure Palace, but now it is just the other two....and no Possessed. MAYBE, Roarke was right...TOO DANGEROUS AFTER ALL, lol.
Syndication? There's the possibility that both shows didn't air on the same channel overseas. Both programs were worldwide hits. The separate episodes were probably done for the foreign market like England & Australia.
Yeah, as I did the show, I realized it had to be the case. The evidence all points there, but wish I could see the ending for the Love Boat that would make sense watching her episode of Fantasy Island. She even mentions the Cruise Ship.
I finally got around to seeing the Fantasy Island episode. Radar's great-grandmother owns a brothel in turn-of-century San Francisco. While there, Fonz's girlfriend Pinky bangs him. He later hooks up with a Hee-Haw Honey before being brought back to the present.
100%, and I love Crossovers. I just wish you could still see the Love Boat Episode the way it was first show to cross over into Fantasy Island somehow.
Don't ask, lol. I'd like to say that is the reason as you know that is a constant challenge when making videos. HOWEVER< it was 1:40am and honestly, I forgot to turn it down. DAMN, because that was something I want you to hear. Well, I can't fix it now or all my views will be gone.
And yet his character of Fantasy Island plays a great part straddling the line of benevolent and callous, when necessary. Loved his dichotomy. But KHAN! is awesome.
