I was a young kid in the seventies and a a teenager in the eighties. I use to watch this show with my grandparents and others.I miss my childhood and the people, who were in my life and are now gone.Happy to have been part of this time of my life.
Love Boat is one of my favorite TV shows long with Fantasy Island kids today don't understand what it was to live back then especially the women on The Love Boat

Wow... unbelievable memories from 70's! What ever happened to that awesome era? Jack Jones sings the "Love Boat" theme excellent. How I wish we could relive those times just once.....

I remember going off to bed as a young kid and then hearing this song come on and sneaking out to watch The Love Boat…. Loved it. Think Mum thought it was harmless enough so I’d eventually make it to the couch and just lap up the entertainment. Maybe it’s lame to watch now but back then it was gold.
Aaron Spelling genius at work on his numerous timeless TV shows and this is one of my favorites! Love Jack Jones theme song of the love boat and this long version is nothing but great. Bring you back to a time when TV shows are simple, positive and entertaining. These are some of tge classics shows I still watch in 2022 . Timeless classics will forever be.
Im driving in my car listening to this as I cruise the freeways it is a guilty pleasure. This song is fun adventurous full of vibes. I dont care if I look a fool dancing in my car to this song :))
This is from Jack Jones’ 1979 album “Nobody Does It Better.” My parents used to own the record but probably never listened to it. This RU-vid recording is missing the extended disco passage in the middle.
I wish that time came back. It was so good and innoncent🌸Now a days its hard and if you show this they laugh how stupid it is cause there is no sex and violent in it. I wish time didnt go so fast with internet and knowing things. Where people talked and think and whatever. Life goes to fast now and we don't really know eachother anymore. Wish we could go back where life was more easy and grounded. We live in the air not on earth anymore.
Love Jack Jones singing the Love Boat. He sings the song to perfection. Every time I hear the song I remember the good old days when our lives were much simpler. We miss you Jack !
Jack Jones is not gone, he’s still around, was performing up until the pandemic, and of course has a ton of vintage and new music recordings out there.
@@barty8980 Jack Jones is dearly missed. His memories will live on. Unfortunately he has passed and we think of him EVERY time we watch the show. His captured the theme of the show with his sing. Sad he is gone
@@wendysmason7600 Hi Wendy! Really??!! Can you provide a date, year or reputable link of his death? If you are referring to a WikiObits page, that is “a work in progress, may be premature”. Another Jack Jones singer obit is for an English singer back in 2002. There are many other people named Jack Jones who have died before today and NONE of them are the singer Jack Jones. I’ve followed Jack since the early 60’s and through his renaissance in the 1990’s through the 2010’s.
@@wendysmason7600Jack Jones is alive at the age of 87 years old. He jss toured in recent yesrs. Jack Jones was born in 1936 and is still with the living, thank goodness.
Worked on the actual ships Pacific Princess and Sun Princess in the 80s great years worked some contracts when they filmed the show got to meet the film crew a few times
I live next to a port, and I heard from my window, a cheerful tune from the horns of a ship. The tune was familiar, but I could not remember where it came from ... wracking my brains, I remembered "Love Boat" 😍😀 I looked up the tune and it was as expected. I don't know where the ship came from, but now and again, I hear the "love boat" theme tune coming from the horns through my window.
+comp z we're living in the golden age of TV drama. If your idea of good TV is the sitcom, OK, I'll give you that. A-Team, Simon and Simon, Knight Rider, Magnum PI, they were great. But now we have Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, all these great movie quality TV shows they couldn't dream of back then.
Lol this song been dancing around my head last few days, lol therefore I had to hear it 😂 My mother and I use to watch this faithfully 😂 sems like 3 lifetimes ago. Seen a lot of changes in this world in my 59 years. Seen it all. I'm so glad I was born in the 60s. Loved the 70s and 80s. We are a long way from that now. End times are finally here.
Great show it reminds me of the cruises we went on, if you want a fantastic holiday that’s the way to go , the food and service is awesome, and the experience of being out at sea for like a day before first port of call is indescribable, I’d like to add my sympathy and respect at this time for Gavin McLeod who we recently lost he was everybody’s favourite cruise ship captain
That's right. 70'-80's were some of the most fascinating times in my life. Sitting back and listening to this and I'm automatically transported back there.
I just got off Regal myself yesterday - I was on a seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise with my parents and loved every minute of it, including the "Love Boat" horn blast. =)
ozonlay hole is fixed, we have gay marriage almost everywhere, poverty is down, crime is down famines are down aids is treatable and down, unemployment isnt as idiotic high as it was then ...our world and society is so much better today than it was back then.
Better in every way? That’s quite a sweeping statement. Not if you were a woman competing with males for jobs. The woman only got the job if the qualified men didn’t want it and then you were paid less for the exact same job. Not against the law and saved companies money. No HIPPA so doctors could tell husbands and boyfriends the tea about your health. Husbands had right to make medical decisions for their wives. If one person in your office or on your plane smoked, you all smoked. Everything stank of stale smoke and alcohol. Drinking and driving was accepted as boys will be boys. Very few individual rights. Sexual crimes were ignored. These shows reminded us of how life should be.
Umm...I don't know about being "old and fat". But yes i still love the disco days. Oh and by the way do you always open up every comment you make with insults...? Just sayin...(g)
I think this arrangement in studio it is the most finest, more enriching, always so welcome the orchestra arrangements, with those choruses that accompany so well the musics of all shorts.
This was on back when there were 3 or 4 channels to choose from, and no way to record anything. So everyone experienced the same things at the same time, then talked about it the next day. This did a LOT for uniting the culture! We had radio, records, TV, and movies that you could only watch while they were in the theater. Now we have our own curated echo chambers, and very little in common with each other. It was easier to overlook differences before, because we could always find easy common ground. Now we have to work harder to find common ground. It's still there, if we don't listen to those who are making money by dividing us. Music and media can unite people from very different walks of life. That's what the music of the 60s and 70s did, and the commonality of TV shows.
This was and is a feel good show. I loved it as a teenager and in my twenties, when new, and never missed an ep. I loved Jack Jones singing the theme the best.
This song takes me back---it was enjoyable to listen to and sing (I was in the high school concert chorus in my town). I remember watching ABC on Wednesday nights, The Love Boat followed by Fantasy Island. I wish back in the day I could have taken the T into Boston and book The Love Boat to Fantasy Island IRL.
When I studied audio engineering at the Center For The Media Arts in NYC my teacher was Bernard Fox, the younger brother of Charles Fox, the composer of this song and many TV shows songs. He also did Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley. He was also the composer of ready to take a chance for Barry Manilow, and killing me softly along with 2 others. Never got to meet him. Very talented man.
Use today's stars and you can remake this type of show. It was all about the stars who co mingled w short stories. Even the theme would be beloved by the young. Just upgrade the ship to a newer princess liner.
Back then, all the stars were on board one cruise and they hit a bad storm with people throwing up-the writers were ordered to not even think about writing it in. Nowadays you would have the hurricane episode and the Covid episode.
Ahh bringing back good ol memories, as a kid i use to wait weekly night for this show to go on and was a great start to hear this upbeat feel good ballad
So far I have been on a couple dozen cruises over the past 30 years sailing all over the Western, Eastern & Southern Caribbean with family & friends, and sometimes I actually cruise ALL BY MYSELF!!!... They are so fun, exciting & relaxing and the food is fabulous,,,, I like all the many Islands.... My next cruises will be to Alaska, Hawaii & the Mediterranean, and a 6 month AROUND-THE-WORLD cruise... Any ladies want to go with me?
I'm going to amazon right now to buy a bluetooth speaker to play this for everyone on trayline; over a continuous loop. Our times should improve, measurably... 😂
I wanted to take a trip on a cruise ship I even went to the travel agent. Seems like an ideal vacation. Buffet activities or you could just relax seems like a perfect vacation. I keep hearing this theme song in my head and in my dreams but I really don’t fully understand the meaning of it. I’ve listened carefully to the words and it makes a lot of sense it talks about love being a positive thing not a painful thing. I do agree that love is one of life’s sweetest rewards. I’m a firm believer that true love is one of God’s greatest gifts.
I was forbidden from watching The love boat I grew up in a strict Christian home. Always wanted to watch it. It seems like a nice idea taking a trip on a boat and finding love. It’s a good theme song. I don’t know why but I was dreaming about the song last night. The words to the song are really nice talking about love won’t hurt any more. It may be an omen.
