Dan Daniels is an Australian musician from Cohuna, Victoria. He was a contestant on The Voice Australia Season 12 in 2023. He is 58 years old. Daniels lives off the grid and makes his own instruments.
I remember my grandfather singing songs they sang during the days of war. He still sang the most heartwarming songs even in war, it was was his way of calming his allies. He sang in this manner whenever i went to sleep. It was the most heartwarming moments in my life.
I can relate to his voice sound. I was in a near fatal truck wreck in 1988.I have had a traumatic head/brain injury, broken face, fractured jaw, fractured larynx, a collapsed right lung, fractured right ankle and I was in a coma for 3 weeks. I was in therapy and rehabilitation for a while. I've also had whiplash which tore the nerves in the right side of my neck and the traumatic head/brain injury was on my left side of my head and so, I am paralyzed on my right side. I miss singing in church and sounding good so I have had 3 surgeries on my larynx to help me be louder and sound good. But none of the surgeries helped me at all. My voice is still hoarse and raspy. Since I am disabled I volunteer help and I'm always careful and doing my best as a janitor, landscaping maintenance and helping my boss work on classic cars. When I was in the ambulance my heart stopped and the EMT Team was having difficulty with keeping me alive. I thank God daily for His giving me a second chance in life 🙏🏽🙌❤☝🏽🤲🏼🕊🌄. So since I don't have a singing voice, I am always trying and giving my best at the work I can do. I am slow at the work I do but I am staying the course and always doing my best and I give God the glory 🙏🏽🙌☝🏽🕊❤💯.

Perhaps you’re thinking of Red by Daniel Lanois? Or any other song from him in that game. He’s got a higher pitch but the same “dead voice” style of singing.

The best thing about it. It’s 100% national he hasn’t had singing or voice coaching or lessons. You can tell with the ending of the words. He can go as high as he wants to.
He’s singing perhaps two octaves below middle C at his lowest (and he doesn’t have room to go lower). Avi Kaplan (old Pentatonix) and Tim Foust (Home Free) among others can go much lower. But hey, enjoy his voice! Most often anymore it seems like they are presenting guys who sound in the same range as women (can’t tell if you are not looking).
Yes indeed! This man has a great voice I can hear as narrator, voice overs, animation, theater talking and singing, lead singer, featuring in some one else's song or rap.
I mean this in the best possible way, this man is like if the devil took form; his style, the choice of song, his guitar, and of course his voice, it all just shouts "Folktale!"
