I can’t speak for the other prisons, but I watched a 1 hour documentary about the prison in Norway. An it has the lowest rate of recidivism in the world at just 16% when compared to here in America the recidivism rate for State Prisons is 82%. Norway has done such a great job of rehabilitation of prisoners they have had to close down prisons. Sounds like Norway is doing something right, and America is doing something wrong. Don’t get me wrong there’s people in American prisons who should never see the light of day ever again. Like Serial Killers, Child Predators and Serial gRapest. Those 3 classes should get the death penalty, and none of that sitting on death row for 20 years crap either

Norway's prison model should be the "standard", but when you're greedy and see more profit in repeat offenders vs rehabilitation, you turn a blind eye. When you treat people like animals, you produce more of the same.

The new open units at Melbourne Australia's women's prison is like the Danish prison with a modern kitchen, single rooms, a lounge with flat screen TVs and single bedrooms each with a tv. I loved it.

I look at it as this in the regular world when you pick out a house it depends on how much of an income you have .. on what neighborhood you're going to live in.. some of us can afford luxury some of us cannot .. but I'm not going to lie if I was rich I definitely would want to go to one of those prisons if I didn't have a choice 😊 and everybody else is acting like they would just stay in a regular cell but if you had the choice would you rather go to a nicer place if you could pay for it 🧐🤔

I started to watch this video but I am not watching it anymore. It is absolutely ridiculous that people that are filthy rich could make their time in prison much much easier by being in a " " luxurious prison. If I had my way about it luxurious prisons built for rich people would be illegal and would be torn down. I don't care how rich you are, if you break the law you deserve to serve your time in the same kind of prison as everyone else. No luxurious hotel like structure where you can be pampered and treated like you're someone very special when in fact you're not You're just another rich person. Moreover if a rich person goes to prison they should be stripped of all of their wealth. They should have to pay their way by working while in prison just like other inmates they are no better.

No, much more possible by subjecting someone to dehumanisation, abuse, and violence... Solitary confinement should never be used except when it is the only way to provide a reasonable certainty of safety of the individual from others and/or others from the individual. Most criminals are not psychopaths. Only psychopaths commit crimes against a decent society. Would you feel a society that deprived you of any human contact for years was decent? Would you be more or less likely to offend if you felt you received an unjust punishment? There's a reason only one country systematically uses solitary confinement against its criminals. For some reason crime rates in that country just keep going up and up and up...
