So many watch snobs in the comments. Does Michael know a TON about watches? No. But he does know quite a bit. Certainly more than the average person. And his respect and love for watchmaking is evident. THAT is what we should be looking for. Not all the gatekeeping watch snobs that complain “ooooo he didn’t know x y or z. He’s sooo dumb.” He’s a collector not an expert. He enjoys the hobby and it’s not harming anyone. Chill out. Not everyone who buys watches has to have this categorical knowledge of horology and to think otherwise is part of the reason why people feel so intimidated getting into watches in the first place.

To the people saying the man doesn't know anything about his inventory. I'm sure he knows a lot more than you think he does. Its hard to know everything off of the top of your head jumping from watch to watch, brand to brand on top of being asked prices with a camera in you're face.. especially on this occasion when Michael isn't there to make a purchase. The owner of the store didn't get where he's at in the industry by not knowing anything about his inventory. Don't be stupid.

They are used as a mean of fighting inflation by having your money sit in the form of watches that don’t depreciate like money in a bank does. All high end art are not purchased entirely because they are worth these huge sums but because people have more money than they could possibly use and need to store it in a way that doesn’t depreciate.

Only on the second had market do they lose there value, when first modified they cost more than retail or whatever the dealer wants to charge. Your paying for the watch plus the modifications, try and resell it and you lose your shirt.

Well, I can see the appeal. If the watches were damaged and needed a big restoration, this makes sense. We are talking damaged dial and bracelet. This option provides a "piece unique" that has a feel way different from a Rolex vintage. In another video he showed a bronze Rolex that was amazing.

If you haven't seen the video of this man when he was in an apartment office in NY (if I'm not mistaken) then you will definitely not understand that this man is by far the most humble, respectful, and to me, personally the most appreciative watch seller/collector in producer Michael's videos. He doesn't cut you off when you're talking, He respects his clientele regardless of their status and by far, could sell me a watch just from me being in his presence. I don't want a seller to bark statistics down my throat and cut me off every time I state a fact. Respect and A humble etiquette? That is a Gentleman.

Omega is sold in not as high end retail stores still very expensive but the majority of the value these watches have is from the rarity and scarcity. Cliff notes omega is mass produced and not as scarce

Sorry but i cant stand this anymore. The guy in the shop knows nothing about true watches, just knows the ones priced over retail and that make him the highest profit. On top of that he ruins vintage rolex dials trying to make them “modern”. This has nothing to do with being a watch enthusiast. You can have the best looking shop on earth but if you don’t even know what you are selling why should i even buy from you. And btw, omega is true quality, it can get as expensive as the other brands. The ones that say is cheap never had both a rolex and an omega side by side.

Vadim seems like a nice enough guy, but definitely more of a middleman rather than a watch enthusiast. Actually, most of these guys seem that way tbh. I guess that is why so many of us appreciate Seth. When watching these episodes the same phrase often reoccurs to me: "People who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing." Making money and doing business is not a crime, just saying i prefer someone who is an actual enthusiast.
