My Jewish grandmother, majority stock holder of historic landmark restaurants on Wall St, NYC Sophie Fradkin was a piano teacher and had a baby grand Steinway piano. She taught me Dayenu on the piano and we sang along together in her North Miami Beach condo!

Fantastic. I am not Jewish but have been blessed to have a best friend who is and whose family has welcomed me into their home every passover for a seder. Judaism is a beautiful religion that I am so happy that I get to have its influence in my life.

I am a Christian and I was reading my Bible this morning and a verse caught my eye; Matthew 26:30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.” So...I came to RU-vid, typed in the phrase, “Passover hymn” and Voila! this is what I got! I'm pretty sure the "greeks" that have made other appearances in maccabeats videos sing heavy metal... Anyway, I loved this! It was perfect; humour, good singing voices, costumes, and a little bit of beautifullness( yes I know thats not a word) at the end. Thumbs up for sure!!!!!

Ayyyyy dunno why those kids r falling asleep there! Singing Dayenu was always the funnest part of the Seder! I prefer singing and clapping with my family n friends and pounding and stomping together, to listening to pros in tuxes singing FOR us!

I said have a great day from NY. He said, have a great afternoon from London... (I wrote in Hebrew that I was learning Hebrew, sorry for any mistakes...)... Only to find out at the end, he was British... 🤣 I could have written the whole thing in English... Better yet, there was another commenter I knew was French and fluent in English.. He could have actually written exactly what was said instead of my clumsy attempt....🙈

Very cool how they mashed a whole bunch of genres together (my favorites were the polka, metal and barbershop covers, as well as the finale!). As the children reacted when they showed up to the table, I would be psyched to have these guys perform at my seder! Chag Sameach to everyone!

The heberu mercenaries worked in Egypt. They protected the borders and in time of peace they had to work on building projects. They didn't get paid, they left and plundered their way out of Egypt. Pharoah's troops bogged down in the "Reed Sea." And then conquered the people living in what was to become Israel. Slaves who did not how to fight would never have done that. Mercenaries would have. Fast forward a few centuries and the legend of Passover was born..... I do like the song and am proud of my ancient Heberu ancestors....especially the Maccabees. Cool stuff!

The polka segment makes me laugh so hard. I love this video.😂😂😂😂😂 And it's also funny how bored the kids are while the adults are singing the song and fall asleep as a result. This is why songs like Dayenu, Chad Gadya and Echad Mi Yodea are extremely repetitive and hard to keep up with because of the many verses that they have.
