Thank you for reiterating how MUCH Practice it takes to do this! Especially on a green or hot horse. No one ever mentions that you need to do it by feel in order not to significantly change your balance when you drop your head to look.
We use those exact girths at my barn! And if you watch the opening credits of Heartland carefully, when Amy is tacking the horse up and she drops the girth, it is the same kind... I wonder what brand it is, they seem pretty ubiquitous! Great video, though I am no where NEAR ready to try this, haha- I am just learning to tighten the girth from the GROUND. I am always afraid I am hurting the horse by pulling too hard, so my instructor has to double check for me...😳
I do it so different we just take our foot out of the stirrup and do everything we gotta do then put it back in, but then again all the horses at the school are very used to this and not green at all
Thank you for the demo! I’m curious about the stirrup leathers. I found them online. May I ask if you / does Beezie use them with or without the grip? I saw that these stirrup leathers can be used with or without a grip. Thank you for your thoughts. May I also ask what you feel differs in terms of sensations, leg position, comfort, maybe even safety(?) etc. between traditional stirrup leathers and these? So kind whatever thoughts you might be able to share or provide. Thank you for all of the videos you guys have been making of resent. Really been enjoying all that you at John Madden Sales have been sharing.
