The Maelstrom by Robert W. Smith - Austin High School Concert Band 

I played this in high school band. We played it in concert for the memory of a classmate who died of cancer.

Haha, I memorized this music.... We literally did this piece and multiple others for my marching band show this year

That’s amazing some of you are so young playing this. Doesn’t matter if you’re a high schooler or a middle schooler, it’s a great composition and a joy to conduct and play all around. Competition or not, just enjoy playing. This piece always made us feel so in the moment.

I just watched my middle school band do this, and I regret filming that, because it was much better than this, there’s no mix, the sound is weird and uncomfortable, and it doesn’t give me the intended feeling the composer meant for this piece
