The magic disappearing wand illusion 

What core does this wand have though? Phoenix Tail Feather, Unicorn Hair, Dragon Heartstring or Veela Hair?

That's a fun "good ol' reliable" trick to get some smiles out of people. Another modification you can do is make the "wand" hollow (by drilling the dowel or using a small plastic pipe). Then pour in a bit of sand or steel shavings before sealing and painting the ends. Then, this lets you do the trick of laying your wand on the edge of a table with (for example) ¼ of it on the table, and ¾ hanging off the edge. An "impossible" balancing trick. This could be easily combined with the "disappearing wand" gimmick shown in the video for a fun magic wand that can perform some tricks that are sure to make people laugh and smile.

That was beautiful. The kids loved it, even I was fooled.

Because I have so much respect for Rob and Dean I'm going to expose 150 year old magicians secret . When a magician dies the broken wand ceremony is performed a script is read out which is the same from when it was first done , the wand is broken in half placed on top of the coffin symbolising the end of the magician's career this is of course unless they passed the wand on to the apprentice meaning that their skills are now given and entrusted to the new guy . I've been to four of the Broken wand ceremonies and it's quite emotional for magicians. It is the highest honour that you can get and as far as I know this has never been spoken about publicly
