So uh in Canada we call Girl Scouts girl guides, and idk bout America but before guides these rank is a brownie and the brownie story does like this : Candy and her sister didn’t want to do their chores. One day their grandmother told them about brownies, little elves that come to their houses and clean up (Also the guide thing : sparks 4-5 brownies 6-7 guides 8-9-10 and so on) and about how fun it was to be a brownie and to be a girl guide and that all they had to do was follow the brown owl and ask it to be a brownie. So candy and her sis go to a lake, where the brown owl lives and ask it to become brownies. The brown owl tells them to look in the pool and reflect on the selves or something (it’s been a while since I heard the story. This is also why I forgot the sister’s name) and to be more helpful and after that they can become true brownies. So they sneak back to their house (oh yeah it’s nighttime now) and clean up and the next day the grandma is like “oH yEAh LoOk aT hOw MY HouSe gOt CLeaNED UP by BrOwNiES aNd dEfEneNtLy nOT mY gRAndcHilDReN” and then they go back the next night and the brown owl is like yeah you can become brownies now.

I feel it's like leaving milk and cookies out for Santa. ❤️

Should you give an offering without knowing if they’re in your home or not? (I’m just starting out in everything - magical and all, and this seems like a lovely thing, to just... give back, even if they aren’t giving to me, if that makes sense 😌)

When I don’t leave my “offering” my brownie will pester my cat and she acts all crazy running around and meowing. Luckily I’m being consistent and leaving something every day and I haven’t observed anythiNg negative. My cat is tbh my brownie-ometer XP if the cat is acting strange I know my neighbor is out and about haha

This probably sounds stupid, but what actually happens to the offering you leave out for fae? like, if you leave out food, do they eat it? If you leave them an object, do they take it? or is it more of a symbolic thing? If it is, when do you take the offering back? This always really confused me!!

Quick question. I understand not thanking them or leaving them an offering as I would traditionally do in my practice for spirit guides and deities. If i made cookies, let's say, and put them all out on a plate for myself and others to enjoy how can it be for them if it is going to be consumed without giving them a separate plate that won't be touched. Thanks a bunch for the great info. I am moving into my own house sometime in the next year so I will keep researching so I'll be ready in my house!!!

I'm going to meditate on this as well and see if the fae have any direct advice but otherwise just curious bc this is a lovely group of witches

I had a dream recently I’m trying to make sense of. I was asked to dress a servant in the house in a halloween outfit to scare off intruders she didn’t look fully human I think she was a brownie. She was young and still learning about our ways. I didn’t see them as a servant but a daughter who needed to be free from the slavery they were subjected to. I chose a woman in black/banshee outfit as I was helping them get dressed I put on the outfit to show them how it goes. I scared them a little with a playful “boo” I immediately apologised and they were ok with it. We forged a mother daughter connection and they were free to live their life as a human child. But a strange looking boar arrived it was large and almost mythical looking. It was angry we had to evacuate people into a van but the van took too long to start I knew I had to lead the boar into some mud to calm it. As the boar was about to attack the van the girl who was once a brownie stood in its way to get the van out of there but the van slipped on the slippery floor and hit her she sacrificed her life to save us. I wanted to go back and help her, but the boar had summoned a stampede of pigs we had to get those people out there and calm the boar. So I did that first lead the boar and the pigs into the mud and they were calmed. I returned to attempt to resurrect the girl but it failed. I wonder if this was a real brownie meeting me playing a part in the dreams story as the connection we had felt real.

Im nervous to work with them i wanna wait till im a little more grounded and experience before i make that decision i hear they are fickle and can raise hell in your house and family if in anyway you've offended them (as you said) thats terrifying 😂

Hello actually i am here to seek help, actually when i was 10 i was so interested in fairies . I uesd to give them offerings etc. And sometimes i saw them too.So, one day i organized a party for them, i organized small treats , drinks , some nice music and a medium size table afcourse to keep it all , and i left all of it for the fay. When i came back i saw ants eating all the food , i got so angry as i worked so hard for organizing the party . I was so angry that i washed all the plates and as the result the ants died . After the inccident i stopped seeing the fairies . I feel so bad for what i did. Now i am 13 i just wanna ask is there any way to apologize to them?

Also known as kobolds in Germany and nisse in Norway. I've found that I can tell when I've ticked them off when things get misplaced or something in the house breaks. I believe we've got 2 in our home, one lives behind the stove and one lives by the furnace (my logic is these are warm places that represent the modern day hearth). I try to keep them happy with a little alter to them and an offering, usually a piece of chocolate and a shotglass of some kind of drink. I also keep my house tidy most days. And you're right, they do not get along with my cat, Honey.

I believe I have fae in my home. I had food on my ancestor's altar (shrimp scampi, cheese biscuits, and cheesecake). I woke up and my cat NEVER messes with my altars so I was shocked when I saw a little piece of the cheesecake taken out of the slice. So I asked my son could our cat have done it, and he looked at the slice and said no because there was literally no paw print or anything that resembled what my cat could have done. I have been suspecting I had fae, as I have moved into a new home and now I'm convinced. Other things have happened that points to that as well.

My apartment is so messy and cluttered, I’m sure there are no fae here. But, the first book I read when starting my journey into witchcraft was “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning.” I can’t calm my mind in such a cluttered environment. It’s clean, just cluttered. (Fortunately, my building has three areas in which to give away unwanted items (one for food, one for books, and one for clothes and household items). I have 57 years of junk that is holding me back. In just a month I’ve tossed 8 bags of garbage and given away 10 laundry baskets worth and I’m not even halfway there. I would recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with too much clutter.

I always tell my husband that when something goes missing it's probably being enjoyed by the fae and they'll return it eventually (like neighbors do). For the longest time he'd just roll his eyes thinking I was making up excuses for losing things (as if I would ever!). One day he comes stomping over to me and says "Tell them to give it back." whut? "I was working on something and there was a piece that was in my way for the last hour. I finally needed that piece and now I can't find it! I've looked for it fo the last fifteen minutes and still can't find it! Tell them to give it back" I had to explain that 1. you don't tell them anything unless you want to have a "Bad Day tm" and 2. the more he shows he wants it the longer it'll be before it shows up again. That's part of the game! They 'borrow' something, you throw a fit looking for it (to their endless amusement), and when you finally give up they return it. Want that missing item back? order a new one. As soon as you click 'pay', it'll show up. I demonstrated how it worked the next time I lost.. um... my car keys were borrowed. After searching everywhere I made a show of throwing my hands up and going '"It's hopeless! I'll never find them! I'll just have to be ok with not having them ever again." Waited a few seconds, walked to my purse (which we completely emptied and repacked twice in our search), stuck my hand in and viola. Keys! "OH MY! There they are! What luck! Mayhaps I'll buy some cake to celebrate my good fortune with later tonight! Don't let me forget to clear it away later! You know how I forget things, darling." He is both horrified and amused by the whole thing

I know this probably a late comment, but Someone in my dream told me I had a fairy on my right side. I didn’t know anything about faries so I decided to do digging on RU-vid yesterday. I’m not even sure if what this person in my dream said was true, but considering the fact that I’ve been constantly solving my family’s issues for the last month and a half and have had no time for myself and my creativity, and feeling overall burn out, i am absolutely not interested in working with faries/Faye because I don’t know what this fairy’s intention is, but my boundaries are pretty clear when it comes to not wanting to deal with anyone besides my angels. Although I can probably see why there would be a fairy around considering my room is facing the front of a greenspace/garden and there’s a lot of nature. I have a fish tank in my room as well as crystals and fairy lights and pics of nature. My room is just a mess tho because I have my collage/art supplies on my floor which I hadn’t had a chance to get working on due to being burn out/lack of proper sleep. I know they don’t like mess but I also just want every other being with the exception of my guardian angels to just leave me alone.
