Wrong orientation of gas in & out of the system. Hot gas enter at the top of the condenser and cold gas enter at the bottom of the evaporator coz the liquid refregirant is heavier than on its gaseous form. Didn't also explain how the high pressure liquid was turned into a cold low pressure mist. The expansion valve is one of the most important parts in an AC system.

The expansion valve acts like the top of a hair spray bottle. That's why hair spray feels cool to the touch while shaking the bottle it's liquid that's converted to a mist. While in its cool state it can be compressed in the compressor as you cannot compress a liquid- but can compress gas.

Very nice Explanation, I assume some values are incorrect at ( 3:06 sec) how can a 10°C refrigerant in Eva. absorb heat from cabin and leave Evaporator at 5°C. Once heat is absorbed by refrigerant temperature of refrigerant should increase - but it is mentioned that it is reduced to 5°C there is 1 bar Pressure drop it is normal. Rest every thing is well depicted.

@@pututaryobrahmantoro1499 It is never -10C on a car AC, unless something went wrong. The video clearly says +10C and +5C respectively. 4 bar @ 10C down to 3 bar @ 5C is nonsense, even if there is lots of cooling capacity left, there are simply no such drop with R134a. Mostly there will be warmer vapor coming out at around 15~20C as the refrigerant absorbs the heat from the cabin and transfers to the compressor and the condenser ...

Just like any engine part : the intake, the throttle, the radiator, oil filter etc , it’s all the same. Whats make the real difference in performance is the cylinders capacity and the computer

Slightly confused. As the refrigerant leaves the txv and enters the evaporator, the temp is 10C. After leaving the evaporator, the temp is now 4C. How did the temp drop after leaving the evaporator (in comparison to the temp after leaving the txv)? Shouldn't the temp after the evaporator be higher than the temp after the txv?

Many commenters wrote that this is an excellent explanation. I think the opposite, because this vid only shows how the SYSTEM works and shows some misinterpreted actions. It does not explain the compressor as the title says. An explanation of the compressor should show the compresor assembled, then the parts in the order of disassembling and assembling it. With all he small, even the smallest parts of it. This clip is for the people who only wants to know how it works. By the way, the clip wasn't checked by the technical team of MAHLE, it contains several misleading information. MAHLE, you should check what gets out to the net.

The flow diagram is incorrectly made, the gas that comes out of the compressor has to enter through the upper part of the condenser and exit through the lower part, in the diagram it enters through the lower part and exits through the upper part and this is wrong

I’ve installed about 1,200,000 +/- AC Compressors. What they fail to mention is that your dominant arm grows a good five inches bigger then the other.

Aquí hay un error muy grande qué el compresor empieza a bombear de abajo hacia arriba en el condensador y así no trabaja ni bombea el compresor es de la salida del compresor a la parte alta del y allí va bajando para no tener tanta presión y poder hacer expansión sin subir presión en el un error en el video instalar gas al condensador muy grave pero a la vez muy hermoso video

Does keeping AC at low cooling ( higher temperature ) helps in fuel efficiency .?? Orr does compressor works same for all temperature.?

Modern compressors can vary the compression ratio. Due to this, if you set, for instance, 24 ⁰C, once this temperature is achieved in the cabin, the compressor will have its power reduced, thus saving fuel. In this case, there's no clutch. It stays "engaged" even when AC is off. But if you turn it in, the control valve starts the whole process. On the other hand, older systems (with temperature settings) tend to engage and disengage the clutch a lot. It doesn't make much of a difference in terms of fuel economy, but at least can give some thermal comfort.

@@mohnishsao5301, there's nothing to be sorry about. I like those talks because we all can learn something. At least I've learned a lot :) I have a Toyota Hilux 2009 here in Brazil, and I can clearly notice the compressor turning on and off after reaching the desired temperature. But the thing is, if you can set a temperature (not mentioning "hot or cold", but if you can choose a specific degree, I mean), there are lots of possibilities in terms of programming that can return the same result. One I mentioned (it's like my case) , but I know there're models whose controllers are based on mixing hot air. A thing people can't figure it our is that setting 18 ⁰C doesn't make the AC to "cool more", or faster, than setting 22 ⁰C, for example... Once outside temperature is higher, it will set the system to cool the way it was designed. Here in Rio de Janeiro, we have 35 ⁰C days even now on "winter", so we use AC a lot. And on my car, I let it on 24 ⁰C operating in AUTO mode the whole year, and it works flawlessly. (PS: Same thing to my Mercedes Sprinter van that I work in)
