Mmmmm, then it wouldn’t really focus on the plot of the original but more on the old cast, because this is clearly a remake. Also that would mean they’d have to rename every single character (except teachers) because it would be really weird for all of them to have the same name as their parents.

it’s a remake of the musical version that was on broadway, 2024 regina (renee rap) played regina on broadway for awhile. i do think they majorly failed and it’s not good at all but it’s a musical bc it’s a movie version of the musical
