This music will live forever because it was ordained and Blessed by God Almighty. All of these talented Blackamoors came out of the Church. Most of these folks started singing in church at early age. We have left God and for that He/She has taken his hands off of us. We must go home people.
Who do you think should sing lead? Who is going to sing backup? Who is your lineup of musicians? Just curious.. Here's mine. Lead-- David Hollister Back ups-- Tank and Tyrese Drums-- Sonny Emory Percussion-- Sheila E Guitar--Kingfish Bass--Victor Wooten. That'd be interesting
This music is amazing the guitar is amazing the voices are outstanding I love this kind of music I grew up with this kind of music love love love love love love this song brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it when I saw it posted Lord have mercy God bless all who is reading this and God bless all who is listening and especially God bless you who posted today and always amen
The Main Ingredient what a gifted energetic and defiant soul group. The beautiful tones of the late Cuba Gooding Senior. Their classics said it all such as Everybody plays the Fool, Summer Breeze, Work to do and just don't want to be Lonely. RIP< Cuba Senior, Tony Silvester & Luther Simmons.
How could you not mention "I'm So Proud?" A remake by the incomparable Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions yet the Main Ingredient actually did it much much better.
Me encanta, me encanta, esta canción, la seguire escuchando por siempre, excelentes voces y mas mérito, porque estan cantando en vivo, super voces❤❤❤❤❤
I love to listen to your response in Spanish as I am learning your language plus I also love this music and the soul groups of the 70s. SO win,win for me Thank you.
One of my favorite all time songs ever I listen to it about 4 to 5 times a week, met the lead singer at a bar in NYC called the possible 20 and we sang it together, never forget it!
Some I these souk groups was not heard much in The UK although they were big in USA but the early 1970s Soul 1970-75 but their music lyrics were so perfect harmony this is the time for music I was at a gospel one with l LANCE RAYE and someone shouted out "Hit another note like that ain't nobody gonna go to church" on his rendition of Showdown
Está canción es una joya del soul, me recuerda mi juventud, en estos tiempos ya no hacen música como está melodía que llegó para quedarse en el tiempo, música inolvidable. Saludos desde Costa Rica.
You know this was one of the songs that would keep me in tears. I was always being left by females. This song helped and many others in the Seventies. If people knew who I am . They would be shocked by what I am going to say. I lived through music. I would let music guide my days. I was a hopeless romantic. I even made suicide attempts as a kid..the Truth is I just wanted attention. Suppose one of those attempts would have been Successful. I would be in Help now .I am so glad God is always with me. Because, I thought the world was pretty mean for a young teenager who came from a struggle from indigent Means. I still live as a Hopeless romantic only God and music can calm my Soul. I am still struggling. I Love my Real Live Angelic Being. She knows who she is but once again .I get hurt..please Pray for me some body, for healing of my.mind and Body? God has my Soul. I shall Pray for all of you. God Bless You All.
Hey, say, wait a minute Where you going with that suitcase Wait a minute, listen All right, well, you don't have to answer, just listen I don't mind when you say That you're going away I just don't wanna be lonely And I don't care if we share Only moments a day I just don't wanna be lonely I'd rather be loved and needed Depended on to give a love I can't give when you're gone When you're gone I just don't want to be lonely I'd rather be loved I'd rather have your sweet love, sugar I don't mind when the tide Sets the sun to the moon I just don't wanna be lonely Let the stairs find you there Waiting at the end of the room I just don't wanna be lonely I'd rather be loved and needed Depended on to give a love I can't give when you're gone When you're gone I don't want to be lonely I just wanna be loved, sugar, come on I just want to be loved, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby Ooh, Lord, have mercy I'd rather be loved and needed Depended on to give a love I can't give when you're gone When you're gone I don't want to be lonely I wanna be loved, baby Yeah, come on Gimme that sweet love, sugar I... wanna be loved, baby Gimme that love, sugar Gimme that sweet, sweet sweet love, sugar Gimme, gimme, gimme that love, baby I don't wanna be, don't wanna be I don't wanna be lonely, baby No, no, no, no Gimme that love, sugar Come on, I don't wanna be lonely...

When the music got worse, television shows that featured talented artists making music went away. Soul Train, American Bandstand, The Midnight Special etc., all gone.
