Major scales are a fundamental part of music harmony and learning them in all 12 keys is very important for any musician looking to understand music theory.
The best way to practice all major scales is by using the circle of fifths. The circle of fifths is a very useful diagram which shows us what keys are most closely related to each other.

This is great stuff!!!! I've taken music theory courses in school and I did well. The only thing is that the classes in school were accelerated and I never really wrapped my head around advancing further. After I graduated, I stopped learning theory. I have time on my hands again to study theory. I went down the rabbit hole of RU-vid videos and I came across your channel. I'm definitely having music theory deja vu and you sparked my mojo back. I watched this video and had a serious aha moment. Thanks for being such a great instructor. Your channel is my stop for piano lessons. Again, Thanks.

Nice tutorial mate! I found out if you wanna know the scale you just gotta skip a key 2 times, then dont skip a key and then skip a key 3 times. For example you begin on E, you skip the F, press Fsharp, skip G, press Gsharp, then dont skip a key and press A then again skip Asharp, press B, skip C press Csharp, skip D press Dsharp and you got the Emajor scale :D This works at least for every Major Scale, sorry i didnt know how to explain it in a simpler way

There is a stepwise formula to all major scales. Root note (the 1)- F# for example whole step (2nd) - G# whole step (3rd) - A# half step (4th) - B nat. Whole step (5th)- C# Whole step (6th) D# Whole step (7th) F nat. Half step (root)F# In other words, the fourth is a half step up from the third and the seventh is half a step down from the root note. Try leaving out the fourth and the seventh on any scale and youve just played a pentatonic. (All black keys starting with F# or C#) Pentatonic scales sound very nice and are a great way to get a feel for all the scales

Really great video! I love that you not only show the fingerings, the keyboard, but also the staff for those interested in learning that part of it in the early stages. For the A maj scale, it looks like your hand starts on A3 but the notation shows A4 as the starting place. Shouldn't the root note have been lower on the staff? Thanks again for the vid! Damn. Just now I see the pattern of how flats and sharps are added to the scale. It's so easy: for sharps just start with first of three black keys, then first of two keys, then second of three and so on... And, almost magically, it's always the key right before the tonic! For flats you do the same, but in the opposite direction. OOMMGG!!!
