Love Dave Matthews voice but Amos Lee kills this his voice touches deep into my soul 🕊 Amos is my favorite singer songwriter absolutely love Amos Lee 🤎🌹
Amos Lee's artistry and soul make a wonderful song just so special. His humility and wonderfulness shine through. I LoVE how Dave just wanted to keep going....one more....
DREEEEEEEEEAM Come TRUE! I've been a fan of DMB since 95 and fell in love with Amos Lee in 2005 following them around NC, DC, and VA. I no longer live in the U.S. but MAN how I've wanted to see these two together! Thanks so much! GOOOONIEEES!
So cool to see parts of the video I shot at this show make it into your final product. Easily my favorite version of this song. Amos Lee just kills it!!
My DMB fandom has died down the last 10 years but from 96 to 2010 I was rabid. Nothing I love more than seeing Dave happy on stage. The smile at 3:17 is the best. edit: I love Tim's playing on this one. Note selection is so good.
One of my favorites. Takes me back, 12/19/98.... Dave and the guys were playing in Chicago, my brother was getting married in Washington, and I was in Ecuador serving the Maker.
Candymantempting 41 here we go? Someone that knows the song or has heard the cd ,I went to 4 shows that winter tour , do you as a fan like this version or the “is this Chicago “version
Ryan Oconnell - Haven’t heard a better version of the Chicago 1998 version of “The Maker”... (that concert is one of my favorite live DMB CDs). I love this song, and the guest joining him kinda pulled me away with his gestures, like he didn’t know the song well enough that he was winging it... that, and I didn’t know the bartender from Deadpool could sing so well.
This is incredible! Might be my favorite guest with DMB, and I saw Al Green do ‘Take Me To The River’ at Soldier Field. Amos Lee has such a great voice for this song!
When you're a guest vocalist it would help the cause if you knew the words, vocal line, and the song. Having said that, the band sounded fantastic. Just my opinion.
Love this band. They d a place at the there concerts for us short people. Never fails go to the concert and always stick behind a giant. Come on, help us!
Oh, Oh Deep water Black, and cold like the night I stand with arms wide open I've run a twisted mile I'm a stranger In the eyes of the Maker I could not see For fog in my eyes I could not feel For the fear in my life From across the great divide In the distance i saw a light John Baptist Walking to me with the Maker My body is bent and broken By long and dangerous sleep I can work the fields of Abraham And turn my head away I'm not a stranger In the hands of the Maker Brother John Have you seen the homeless daughters Standing there With broken wings I have seen the flaming swords There over east of eden Burning in the eyes of the Maker Burning in the eyes of the Maker Burning in the eyes of the Maker Burning in the eyes of the Maker Oh river rise from your sleep...
Its been awhile since Ive looked up any DMB videos but I just want to say Im glad to see youre still putting up videos chestercopperpot5. Really great stuff thanks
Couldn't disagree more. Amos CRUSHES putting your own spin on cover material! Dave is awesome for signaling Amos to come in more, but DAMN Amos- crushed
Amos Lee, great voice, no doubt. But he looked like a kid that thinks, "Oh, I don't need to study for the test. I got this." And then is in way over their head and ends up earning a 60%. Amos Lee was in way over his head. The talent he had made it seem like he almost pulled it off.
Great song love Amos but he butchered it ,off key not knowing words and flow of the song, Dave & Timmy bailed him out, classic song but that’s just one option , anyone else think that if you’re an old school Dave fan I’m sure you noticed
While his take is completely different to Dave's, he definitely was on key, I might have heard one or two notes off key and those were passing notes. I thought I wouldn't enjoy it but it was so drastically different that I really liked it.
