other trash brainless people, so it's the people what makes it garbage. But yeah great job innersloth - they made millions for sure and the game had no updates at all, and it's full of cheaters. It's sad
I don't think any of the devs will fully understand the visceral reaction the words "Among us" causes. Everytime I hear those words, my face contorts into a smile, forcing me to repeat what I've just heard. Truly a game that has changed online culture forever.
I remember laughing my ass off when eternals came out on disney + and I watched it but there was a beginning monolog and it said among us in it and I couldn't stop laughing🤣
Wow, what a bunch of genuinely nice, hard-working and collaborative people. It's always amazing to see Newgrounds alum have success, too. I've never played Among Us but I have watched many, many hours of my favorite streamers play and it's always a laugh. Just overall glad to see good people having success doing the things they love to do, the world needs more of that. Thanks for the awesome work on the documentary, too - it's really neat to see the other side of my/our collective favorite games, and I appreciate the obvious care and time that went into making this. Great job everybody!
among us is a special game. oversaturation should not make a game less special. it will always be that fun game to play with others with an artstyle that will stay iconic. i love among us with all my heart and seeing it or mentioning it will always make me happy. honestly, this game changed my life positively and i will continue to enjoy it's presence.

This is probably my favorite doc yall have made. As much as I always love all the talk to designers I really loved all the great questions in this doc toward community management, biz dev, tech stack and seeing how the whole game comes together. Bravo noclip! And Bravo to Innersloth for capturing the zeitgeist and our hearts with those evil bean astronauts
Among Us is crazy. I’m convinced that so far this decade it’s just the most influential game and I hope the people at inner sloth are very proud of that!
You and the other SR guys were the reason I got back into among us, and deception games in general. Shame you guys never get any credit for playing it earlier though😂 Edit: well you did in this doc at least
Excellent video! I had no idea that the Henry Stickman developer was also part of the AmongUs development team. I would also be interested if you were to look at another sudden rise game *after literal years of slow-burner development* - Project Zomboid.
This game and Pokemon Go were remarkable experiences that brought together my entire friend group in a way that nothing else has. 10-15 people most of which NEVER play video games played the hell out of Among Us in 2020.
An excellent documentary but one that frankly left me a bit sad thinking about the course of development - what started as a team of friends, making games that they thought were fun just focused on making their thoughts a reality, became a full-fledged company dealing with bureaucracy and the "real world" - documentation, management, accessibility, moderation, translation, age verification, etc, and all as the game inevitably loses steam as players move on
Well, if it helps, I don't think anyone in the team regrets having taken that trajectory. They're still a small team of friends, and they're now stable enough that they can make whatever they want next, big or small. A little taste of the real world feels like an OK price to pay for that.
The game is so massive that everytime i hear "among us" or "suspicious" in a real sentence i think of the game lmao. Its the only game thats been able to do that
I always thought that among us had so many similarities to my favorite movie The Thing, but to think it actually was it's inspiration is awesome, way more appreciation for the movie, game and the team, good taste in movie guys
No matter the game, I'm always so excited for a new Noclip doc to come out. You do such a great job telling the stories of the people that make the things we love.
I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT DREW INSPIRATION FROM ‘THE THING’.!When I told my friends that it gave me John Carpenter’s The Thing vibes, they all looked at me like I was stupid. WELL WHO’S STUPID NOW, HUH?
i dont think even the devs could fully grasp just how many people were playing among us, its one thing to see the numbers, and quite another to go around the mall one day and find every single person playing among us on their laptop in every cafe or restaurant in the mall. i would see this trend everywhere, from malls, to parks, to cafes, to bookstores, and everywhere in between, and this all happened during lockdown season. everyone i know plays the game, even my mom plays it... its mind boggling.
I remember my friend showing me this in, like, early 2019 or something, and I was like "oh, seems like a cool game", I had absolutely no clue it would become this big haha There are so many other small titles that I've played, and it would be absolutely crazy if any of them were to blow up in the same way

I remember playing Among Us on my phone and on Steam and thinking "why isn't this game more popular..? This is original and imaginative and fun!" Then I forgot about it and went back to my other 1,200 games on Steam I owned at the time. I believe 4-6 months later some RU-vidr or Twitch streamer started playing Among Us (this is before watching this documentary to refresh my memory) and the game BLEW UP, and I went oh yeah that game I thought was cool that nobody played.. Then several years later my wife's 9 year old boys are still watching youtube videos by the same YT personalities who play whatever is popular yelling at each other and overacting everything, and that's when you know a game is too mainstream. It's like that shoeshine kid giving you investing advice line, except with popular stuff. When your wife's children are watching something on youtube every day, that's when its mainstream. (also they watch the Henry Stickmen collection videos a lot too, also will not stop playing Gorilla Tag), basically any of the free games kids love. Because they cannot afford to buy anything. At least Among Us came from one of the best horror movies ever made, The Thing.
Danny the moment you said "poochied out" I was like "that sound like the Shift F1 guy... nooo... what are the odds" and then boom mindblown. Love it all, great content
This was great, I've been waiting for something like this for ages. Always wanted to know the story and get some insight into the development into this game. 100% loved it, thank you
oh lord these comments are a mess This was a really nice and wholesome documentary though. And I'm glad that the Innersloths were able to stay humble and grounded throughout all of this. There are too many stories of people falling into sudden wealth or status and it ruining their lives because they have no idea how to deal with it.
I’m a fourth grade teacher and walked into my class the other day to a surprise: my students created an “Among Us” style escape room for me to solve with the rules of the game incorporated into it. I’ve never played the game but I think it shows the impact this game has had.
I can’t believe I bought Among us before it’s popularity ( June 2020 Summer sale when it was like 50% off ) and I know The devs since it’s Henry stick man browser games, Glad to see the devs doing this well. Been following the game growth when first streamers started to play and there was only 2.4K steam reviews and now look at it amazing. Brazilian streamers, Soapoppin, Other streamers jointing the group, Which lead to YT people to play and more streamers that are smaller. Then steam massive growth. Fucking insane mate, One of the games that I could not have believe when I bought the game would have gotten this popular. Just like withPhasmophonbia and Fall guys and their growth since I know these games before their spikes.
Never played the game but it's very cool to hear about a modern game industry success story. It really is just a game of putting your game out there and hoping it'll click with some people. Everyone's got good ideas so exposure is the biggest determiner in if you succeed or not.
Among Us is really only fun if you have a voice chat going with friends. If you are playing a text only game with strangers, good luck. You're basically just going to deal with friends voting everyone else off at every opportunity, and whoever is the quickest typist will control the entire discussion since folks will vote based on whoever accuses first within the first 4 seconds of the vote. It's a bit of a mess. Playing with friends and/or with a voice chat, though? A blast. Loads of fun.

Victoria tren really brightened up this doc for me, I dig her awareness and clear sight of what is so fun and silly about the game :) she also clearly sounds like a fan, that does so much
Uploads are now like 8 seconds and 11 seconds. It depends on the location of the download, on airship are 2 downloads that take 11 seconds, one is in communications and the other in medical, and every other download is 8 seconds.
these guys are great, they're well easy to burn some spare cpu cycles on. I swear one dev just said like "every things just designed to be...Nice!..". ;]
Thanks for the info; Fun as hell. From some previous vids(yes I said vids; not posts) you are Amstrad based ; from core .Did you ever mess with the BBC Micro Master System.?Look particularly at the "Play it again Sam " series. ACORN seems to have an interesting story; with and without sound effects :)1987 has several timebombs for gaming before gaming...Focus on the pre-Autocad package "Logo"
It’s basically the movie “the thing”. Nothing new but a very nice concept to bite into a video game. Just like people thought that hunger games was innovative, same as squid game or fortnite, but forget that the japanese movie Battle Royale (2000) exist.
indie games documentaries on this channel are some of the best, great vid. Imagine if they make an omori documentary at some point since it took that team 7 years to release the game it could b interesting
