It's a really straightforward choice from creative viewpoint. In the greeko-egypt era there is 3000+ years of Egyptian legacy with the buildings and culture. In addition, the footprint of Alexander the Great and the mysteries about him and the pharaohs.

The thing is it would be a lot harder to make a game too much earlier as most of the history is lost. So it’d be very difficult to make something accurate to how it would’ve been. Not much is known about early Egyptian history as most of that knowledge is lost.

@@huguesdepayen1 well, they made the last 3 games already set in ancient times though (with Valhalla in early medieval) giving them the freedom of the story itself and godlike abilities to the player

I was just going to make this comment. Absolutely love Origins, Odyssey was okay, but it just didn't have the same atmospheric feeling. Origins gave you moments to stop and look. Odyssey was too preoccupied with keeping the action rolling at all times.

Jan Holey definitely. This game set a new bar for the series. Odyssey was such a disappointing game in comparison.

Player One how disappointing? Almost as much I’m loving it. Just more RPG ish and more freedom and a lot more to do.

You're better off downloading a free engine like Unity and teaching yourself to use it. Make a bunch of game mods once you're comfortable with whatever engine you're using. And VERY importantly, have the discipline to not just start something, but to FINISH it. And then do that for several projects. Complete several full fledged mods using engines that you've taught yourself to use, even if that means you had to look up tips and tricks for using those engines on RU-vid. Devs wanna see that you have the passion and dedication to not only learn new things, but most importantly that you have the DEDICATION to finish a project you've started. You can do it man.
