Comparing the Famous Studios and Fleischer Popeye cartoons really made me appreciate Fleischer. People still love this style of cartooning too, see Cuphead.
Not the most enlightening commentary - they should have written a script. The voices are clearly trained voices (you can tell by the way they hit the notes and that they are on pitch when they need to be) but as these are voices for animals, they deliver them in a rough way to suggest animals. They pass over the Mae West imitation. They also don't mention that the launch of the rocket ship appears to be strongly based on Melies's Voyage a la lune (1902). Although the song was published in 1935, there was no commercial recording made at the time.
