Amazing look behind the scenes during Series 5, covering so many aspects of filming with interviews from producers, a director, wide range of crew members and several cast members. Absolute must-watch if you're a fan of DIP.
This is the best show on television, hands down. The characters, the plots, and the scenery, are superb. This insight into how the show is produced was, also excellent. I really appreciate the hard work of all the folks who work to make this series so good. I wish that Hollywood could learn from the writers, producers, actors and supporting people. Thank you for your genuinely excellent production.
Hear hear! I was amazed to learn that the shack is dismantled at the end of every shooting season, so as not to be destroyed by hurricanes! The one downside of living by a Caribbean beach!
The one thing me and my dad always joke about is that one minute theres this scene of a person being murdered or found dead and then 1 second after its just a happy layed back theme tune. I swear its the best thing ever🤣
Me too :) There's a murder, then the jolly theme tune sparks up, and we both sing cheerfully "he's dead, he's dead, he's dead, heeeee's deadddddd....." lol :)
Watched since day one. The best that the BBC has produced for ages. No poor sound quality or over dark pictures unlike all other programmes they have produced over the last few years. Hope they keep producing this series.
"over-dark pictures" But for a paradise, there's certainly a lack of sunshine ! They're always filming in the shadows. They really go out of their way to show how cold and miserable it is. No one is seen sweating, they all wear too much clothing. Compare with "It ain't half Hot Mum" :)
That's brilliant! It's a great show, I only started watching a year ago - from S1E1 all through to S10 as they were all on BBC iPlayer. Have you seen all the series? :)
Thanks for the behind the scenes peek of the actors and crew. Each episode brings a smile to my face. Oh yes, one more thing, the music, it makes me smile also.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. Speaking of the music, what do you think about the theme music change in S10? Many of us prefer the original version from S1, it just seems to have the feisty punch compared with S10. The music during the episodes is nice.
Josephine Jobert is the show, started watching when recovering from surgery ! When Sarah and Ben left , wasn’t sure if I’d continue watching , but Josephine Jobert made me love the show and bought every season she’s was in !
Me too...when Ben Miller left I thought I wouldn't enjoy the show but I grew to love Kris Marshall and now I'm loving the Irish guy and I'm sure I'll love Ralf Little when I get up to season 10. Josephine Jobert is sooooo pretty...she makes me want to diet and exercise more ha ha!
I agree I've watched it from the start ,but didn't like the script for the Christmas episode because she was was hardly in it when it was shown 2021 , good to see Fidel back for this one off
True story, I had severe back surgery, drs thought I may never walk again, 7 months in and out therapy til I could walk and even sit up without pain. Went thru some devastating depression. Sleep aids, herbs, nothing worked in able to rest. Not being misleading but as I watched this show and particularly Josephine Jobert, it helped me relax and smile again ! Bought the dvds with her in them ! So whenever trouble relaxing to sleep I put on dvds and she makes me smile . I’m an artist and find drawing her is therapy ! Not being weird but sharing my story. I’m deeply Christian and when I see her, I see the beauty of Gods creation, cause only He could make someone that beautiful ! Also French like her !
My husband and I went to the Caribbean purely because we live thus show. Unfortunately we missed Guadeloupe because Covid… but such a special place in the world. Terrific show, stunning casting *always* and I love an Agetha Christie style Murder mystery.
Love this behind the scenes look at Death in Paradise. Another fresh unexpected story just like every episode. Never an inkling it was so hot there. Characters always so cool calm and collected.
Thanks so much, glad you like them! There is one more behind the scenes clip to come, but then it might take a while longer for any other videos, but I'm working on them. :)
This is THE BEST SHOW on British TV right now, and the best thing the BBC have made in years! Just wish they hadn't killed off Richard Poole. The writers are clearly clever enough to have written him out in better ways, and wouldn't have had to bring him back as a ghost when Ben Miller wanted to make a guest appearance! Now if I can just find where to get those jackets that Humphrey Goodman wore...
I love this show. Mad at only 8 episodes deal 😆...we've watched ever single episodes over and over ....don't ever cancel this show....bring Dwayne back !!!!
Wow! Unless you know a lot about production or acting, you never know what all it takes to put together one scene let alone an entire episode or program. Thanks for sharing!
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SERIES. I think it should be funded by the National Lottery as its therapeuticall to our well being in the UK! Yes and...... More of the lizard please. 🦎
Great, great show. I’ve watched every episode more than once. My favorite inspector is Kris Marshall. I loved him in “My Family” and he was terrific in this show as well.
Absolutely love this programme ! My hubby and I have watched practically every episode of every season 😅 My favourite inspector is Humphrey Goodman … followed by inspector Poole and Neville Parker … the one we liked least was Mooney. Goodman is just magic !! Such a talented and entertaining actor! 🤩
I am from Canada and I love your show. I love the theme music. I once sang in Carican Choir. Caribbean Canadian. Most of the people were from the Caribbean.
That's brilliant! Hopefully the choir ensures the singing and music is passed onto new generations in the community too. The DIP theme music is so catchy and punchy, puts me in a good mood. Prefer the S1 version though, not so keen on the new arrangement in S10.
Oh My Freakin' God! There is someone out here who has fallen in love with this gem! I'm still not over Richard's death! But brilliant just barely does it justice! Can you do a series on Ballykissangle? That was among my first "later Britcoms". FR
I just started watching last year on Ovation network and my local PBS station and I am hooked. I ❤️ all y’all!!! Can’t wait to see this past Christmas Special here in 🇺🇸 that aired in 🇬🇧 on Boxing Day!😊☺️
Because the new series is coming on BritBox soon, February 2023, I am watching the entire series from the beginning. I just love the show and I love all the characters and the comedic aspect of the show. So glad it’s continuing. And who doesn’t love Harry the lizard.
Looking forward to the new series tonight. DiP is my 11 yr old son's favourite show. He *really* wants to go to Guadeloupe. We jokingly say tht he will go to acting school, get a few roles in British soaps, just so he can be on the show (or even becme the 13th detective)
Dont understand why they worry about sounds like bells and chickens I reckon they add authenticity and a sense of 'I'm there" for the viewer ... love it! ad lib guys, work with it!
I love this show so much that I already watched all the seasons 9 times. I’m addicted to it. I can’t stop. Need help. Love the feeling of vacation on those beautiful beaches. I fell in love with all the characters 😂❤🫠
We are watching you in Russia, we liked the series, in general we love English detectives and then there is also the exoticism of the island) the actors are very cute
I see a chance for a spin-off here: season 5, episode 4 "A Personal Murder" where Dwayne receives a message from his dead friend: that he was murdered, apparently by one of three other men, all of whom Dwayne looked up to as a boy. It turns out that they had been involved in the death of another boy decades before, near a mountain / volcano. In it we had flashbacks to a young Detective Selwyn Patterson investigating that death. I thought then: we could have a spin-off series featuring Selwyn as the lead character during his days as a young detective.
I love Guadeloupe! So incredibly beautiful and not so many tourists. Many different landscapes/ecosystems too, from flat white sand beaches to dense green mountains with volcanos. Only drawback for a visitor like me was that no one speaks English. French or bust. I heard that the show films June to November. Why? My friend who lived there for 5 years said it's unbearably hot in the summer. Then the hurricanes come. Luckily, I stayed there during December and January, which was perfect.
This show makes me want to live in a hut by the beach. I quit my job 3 months ago to start my own online business. Once I’ve grown it some more, I’m gonna make that dream a reality
