The Making of Magical Mystery Tour Was a Sh*tshow!

Everything you need to know about the Magical Mystery Tour movie. |
"No one could possibly replace Brian," was what Paul kept saying. Except, perhaps, Paul himself. On September 2nd, 1967, only 6 days after Brian Epstein's death, Paul took the reigns and set them off on a wild gallop. The Magical Mystery Tour project was a mess. If Brian had been alive, it never would have happened the way it did. The critical reaction was truly remarkable. The press was so mean and vindictive that, for the first time in memory, an artist felt he had to make a public apology for his work.

It seems that Paul essentially kept the group together from MMT through Abbey Road. To say they did a lot of great work in that period would be a serious understatement.

Of course he kept The Beatles together. He didn't want to have to go thru the rigmarole of finding a new backing band, did he?

Well, John and Yoko funded Jodorowsky’s cinematic masterpiece The Holy Mountain simply because they loved his previous film El Topo.

i never saw the film but i love this album, i know people tend to hate it but come on, magical mistery tour is a awesome intro to this record, fool on the hill is one of the most beautiful songs of paul, blue jay way is a psychedelic classic awesome george track, jonh performance on im the walrus is one of the craziest things the Beatles have ever done, and the side b is full of fun songs like Hello Goodbye, penny lane, all you need is love, all fantastic tracks, this is my favourite Beatles album, i know is not the popular opinion but i dont care, i know it is not their best but i like it a lot

John hated doing a lot of good work. He also loved doing a lot of stupid work and performative nonsense. So much for John’s feelings. If he’d cared and invested in the Beatles as much as he did drugs, he probably would have had a better time.

Like George, the best part for me was John and the spaghetti. They were obviously not on the same page with this project. They always worked best when they colluded like the 4 elements that they were. Having allegedly learned from this, Paul puts out 'Give My Regards To Broadstreet' and.....well, maybe he didn't learn as much as he should have.

You could fill volumes with the things Beatle related that John hated, what an absolutely miserable person. He was handed a gift that transformed his life and didn’t seem to enjoy anything about it, from his perspective it was a monumental waste of time and effort and an imposition on him and his “genius”, what a load of horseshit

It's a good time capsule of them after Brian passed. It's nonsensical , but they were still used to being The Fabs when they needed to with Paul's direction. But it was a mess with some funny parts. After that and then India, came the dissolution and " rot that set in " according to George. But they managed to keep it together until '69' when John left. I'm impressed they stayed together for 12 years. How many bands do that today?
