Interesting video. I make my own floats, have done for over 30 years. I’ve been using the same stick float that I made 30 years ago. It’s still brilliant. To this day the float manufacturers haven’t managed to catch up with the design of this float. I have lots of other designs, including pole and peacock waggles. Well done to you.

My hobby is making fishing lures, but occasionally I use a float when fishing for perch & bluegill. I found this quite interesting. You did a fine job of showing and explaining what you were doing.

None of the whipping is actually bonded.

24:24 .Perhaps the whipping should be bonded in construction instead of a shell painted over the top .Just sayin'.

Interesting... what would you suggest I use to 'bond' the whipping? I'm always open to tips and suggestions. After all, I am only an enthusiastic amateur! 👍🎣

@@BlackBottomFloats I use araldite smoothed off on the sections to be whipped and carefully removing and smoothing the "squeeze out"
