Iron Man, Iron Man suit, Robert Downey Jr., Marvel, CGI, green screen, movie making, behind the scenes, plastic, plaster, silicone #short #shorts #ironman
Yeah CGI is best used in combination with special effects just so they can clean up seams and make effects that would be impossible to do practically. For example: lets say you're going to Venom, get a 7' bodybuilder, put him in a suit, make the lips, teeth and gums practically and make the inside of the mouth green so with CGI you would be able to add the inside of the mouth and clean up the seams then you have a Venom that will not look like shit in 5 years.
Even just having really good lighting references in-camera is good. Directors who understand the technology and know what CGI they'll need ahead of time will have a material reference on hand so the artists know what type of reflections and lighting to aim for. Issue is always the directors who just shrug it off in the moment "eh, they'll figure it out in post" and give them nothing to work with.
@@jdos5643 In this case Robert hated wearing the suit, he asked for it to be CGI and since the budget for the second movie was bigger they went with his request
Infinitely better than just wearing a motion tracker suit and cg it. This is the reason why older Marvel characters look significantly more realistic than what it is now. Because the suit actually exists and they just added in some effects in post.
Hate to break it to you but I can almost guarantee that they completely removed the practical suit and just made the entire thing CGI. I’m no expert in the subject but I’ve seen other examples of similar scenarios.
@@flamableluke1238 I do know that there are alot of scenes that are purely CG and they just have Robert wear a goofy motion tracker suit but they did use the practical suit in some other scenes that I forgot about.
@flamableluke1238 yea you are correct. They 100% cgi'ed over the suit but the plastic is there for many practical reasons. It helps the actor get into the role better, it helps the effects team keep lighting consistent and correct by using the lighting on the plastic as a guide, and it makes it easier to correctly track how the cgi suit should move as it also makes the actor move as if he is wearing a suit because he is. It is mostly done away with in the newer movies esp with iron man but that's also because his suits became nano tech that just form fitted his body anyways so having just a motion tracking suit just makes more sense.
@@flamableluke1238in the first movie they used bare parts of the suit without overlaying certain parts it looks much better than the full overlay. That gets added during fast paced scenes
Not really when you consider his whole job is to look a certain way and do a role when you have 12 hours a day for 6 months to train before filming it’s not hard to keep in shape
True story. I was at a hotel in Vegas and hit the gym/spa while I was staying there. I was there for 3-4 days, and every day I was there actually saw RDJ a couple times. The man is in GREAT shape for his age! I even gave him a nod of respect and said, "Mr. Stark" and he gave a candid smile.
My dad and I went to see Iron Man (2008) we loved it and he thought it was awesome. He died before we could go see #2 I have such fond memories anytime I see Ironman 1 it makes me think of the good memories with him 🥹
@@mail96 Yes fortunately we were able to see all three solo iron man movies along with several other marvel movies. I was the last one with him and I was the one who found him dead on his bed going into his room to get him for his morning meds. He was a navy vet 100% disabled who had a bunch of problems both physical and mental, in which he had too take a fist full of meds. I was the one responsible for making up his pill planner. It was possible cardiac arrest or seizure or combination of the two due to bad low sodium levels, that he had been in the hospital for recently prior to his death. I'm grateful though of where he passed instead of possibly going hypothetically half way between when I might have been driving him to the VA hospital.
everything about the details iron man suit in 2008 is top tier... the sound when he move, the CGI is perfect, and you can even hear and feel the weight of the suit
That shit is so bad, who's idea was it to throw all logic out the window? That shit don't even make any God damn sense, how does he have a info visor inside a helmet thst was just formed by nanobots? Fuck
This was his BEST suit. The other ones were very futuristic looking, whereas this one had a mechanical but clean and functional look. The others began to look bulky in the legs and torso and the cgi was noticeable. I loved the sleek look of this one.
Nvr saw it till last year or 2022 but it’s definitely one of the best MCU movies next to Wakanda Forever, Infinity war, Endgame, NWH, Quantumania, The Marvels, and all 3 Guardians films
Starks suit in Infinity War and End game were dope, but I agree with the need for practical effects bolstered by CGI. It keeps the visuals grounded and in real physics. Otherwise it all just looks like Avatar.
Don’t let them fool u - the purple chest clip they include here was for the “removal of the magnet scene”. They would have included a clip of the Arm casting IF it were true🙄
Another example is spiderman notice how perfect the amazing spiderman franchise cgi was the best love action spiderman cgi of all time esecially TASM 2. Im just not sure why newer movies have shittier cgi like in NWH pure shit starting from the Lizard, it literally felt like he wasnt even physically in the film because guess why, hes fully cgi and the cgi just looks so much worse than in TASM. Then also sandman, digsuting. Well i dont blame them because they couldnt get the cast into the film cause of covid. They shouldn't have rushed the film 😂
Fans be like be like: commenting good things about the movie They be like: “they had to capture everything about his body for the suit.” Me be like the dirty minded person I am: everting… 👀
They should go back to using practical suits then wonky cgi like everything in marvel now is cgi the birds the ground the trees the humans everything now
The green suit thing is useless...pls dont advertise it as helpful its really not. Bc i think some believe bc its green it can be removed easier...which is not the case...
