I've always had fun trying to make my own schedule for the nfl, it is so difficult to do. I don't know how Val was able to do it by hand, because you always run into problems, like trying to minimize 3 consecutive road/home games and not playing a divisional opponent within 3 weeks and such and I'm not even trying to think about all the constraints of travelling from West coast to East coast, Monday night games, teams that host thanksgiving games or share stadiums. It's like trying to solve a runics cube with 100 squares on each side

I love the NFL ever since I saw my first Super Bowl when I was a kid. It was Super Bowl 34 Rams and Titans. After that game i was hooked on football. I would love to work for the NFL one day that's my ultimate dream. Where do I sign up??

It is amazing how many football fans don't seem to understand how schedules work. The league doesn't randomly choose any matchup. The schedules are on a rotation. Every team plays each division rival twice, one full NFC division, and one full AFC division. The remaining two games are determined by your place in the division. For example the Packers finished in 1st in their division, so in addition to playing the whole NFC South, they play the Cowboys and Seahawks because they were the other two NFC division winners. The guys in this video only choose the dates and times for each game, not the teams.

Well they messed up bad with the 2017 Pats.

They should maybe take into consideration the flying miles of each team. Really takes a toll on players

When is the schedule release this year?

Their goal is to give the Patriots an easy schedule. Their last 8 games consist of 6 or 7 teams that are in the top 10 worst in the league

I almost asked the same thing about whether this year's schedule was ready. That may not be the case just yet, but as long as I can check up on their website, we should get our answer soon. It is supposed to be the month they do this, some time before the draft, so sit tight, people; it'll be around soon.

Let me try 4 AFC/NFC games , 4 division games from the division in the rotation that year , week 9/10 bye for all teams split 50/50, 2 games from other division based on how you finished the year before , 6 interdivisional games to finish the season . Easy peasy

there is nothing in the video about the actual scheduling techniques used, like how every year each team in a division is scheduled to play every team in another chosen division and how another division to chosen to be an "equalizer division" where 1st place teams from previous years play each other, 2nd place teams play each other, etc. For instance, this year this nfc east has been paired with the nfc west and afc west, so that every team in the nfc east plays every team in the afc west and nfc west. then , the nfc north and nfc south are "equalizer divisions" for the nfc east, so that last year's 1st place cowboys play last years 1st place packers and 1st place falcons, last year's 2nd place giants play last year's 2nd place lions and 2nd place buccaneers, etc. This is the basis of the scheduling process which they could have explained in the video, but as usual the NFL considers their fan base too stupid to understand this relatively simple fundamental process. The computers only come in after the "who-plays-whom" part of the scheduling process is already decided, in order to determine the best possible permutations (balance) of home and away games for each team. This video does not talk about ANY of that, which is kind of misleading.

This is so easy compared to the MLB Schedule. Each NFL team only plays 16 games per year. Try scheduling 162 games per team. A couple did it for years without computer help. Watch "ESPN 30 for 30 Shorts: The Schedule Makers" on RU-vid for the real schedule geniuses.

I'm happy cause based on the AFC West's rotation for what NFC Division we'll face, we are facing the EZ NFC South. 4 Easy wins right there. And the Rest of the AFC West, Raiders,cease, Chargers Easy, we will beat the Chiefs at least once, 9 easy wins for us at the least!

Why do the broncos always have the hardest schedule?

For example, the Chargers will face there division rivals the Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs twice and will face 6 other AFC opponents. Four of them will be an entire division for example, the AFC South Texans, Titans, Colts, and Jaguars. The other two will be random AFC opponents. And in the NFC it will be a whole division for example, the NFC West the Seahawks, Cardinals, 49ers, and the Rams. Is this correct NFL? Please respond. Thank you.

yeah this soo crap, why did the seahawks usually get the easiest schedules for example from 2005-2007 and get easy berths into the playoffs, same thing in 2010,.

The 2017 Schedule is Bullshit. We kicking off first week with the playoffs.
